It was recently announced (1/23/21) that Gary Thorne would not be returning to MASN to call Orioles games for the 2021 season because MASN decided not to renew his contract. This was after Thorne did not call any Orioles baseball games for the 2020 season due to a contract dispute. His final message on air for MASN was after the last game of the 2019 season. Thorne shared his thoughts on the future of the Orioles and said for fans to remember that "the game is supposed to be entertainment... enjoy what goes on on the field."

Man the orioles was so good 2014-2017 I can’t explain how much I loved the 2014-2017 timeline
So much nostalgia from this era. I loved watching that team with Jones, Britton, Machado, Crush etc. but I didn't appreciate enough how much Thorne (and Hunter) added to the experience of watching them play day in and day out. Man is a legend of O's baseball and a true icon.
As a Yankees fan, I sure do miss Gary Thorne on ESPN he gives me goosebumps.
Gary Thorne made every Orioles game special. Thank you for all the memories. It's sad that he won't be back.

Only 2 games into the 2021 season and I already miss him. Excellent compilation.
Sincerely hope a national network picks him up. He was terrific on hockey with Bill Clement but I think baseball is his natural habitat. Won't blame him if he retires but I really hope he graces us on national TV.

It's a real shame what MASN and the orioles organization is doing to to fans. "The game is supposed to be entertainment". Now they're taking the entertainment out of it by forcing everyone to pay for expensive cable packages to even watch the game, and then they get rid of all the people who made the games so much fun to watch

man those orioles teams from 2012-2016 were just a lot of fun. Besides being horrible, the O's and baseball in general is just not as interesting as it was... less personality, too many relievers throwing 100mph, too much 3 true outcomes

Sadly, they don’t want to renew his contract. MASN also didn’t renew the O’s radio broadcaster’s contract as well, so it sounds like they want to go in a new direction in terms of broadcast crews.
@@MattCProductions_ It didn't have anything to do with a new direction. It's called Angelos and by extension MASN are cheap as f*** and didn't want to pay him.
