  • Exploration by dinghy the deep part of Megatron a Victorian storm drain under the city of Sheffield. Information on a World War 2 bomb, and information on by homemade flashgun. A bit scary at times but a great explore.

😲 unbelievable! I cannot believe you paddled up there in an aged dingy you had in your loft 😂 I lived in Sheffield for 10 years (studying & working) and I’d never seen photos never mind a video of that underground area. Fascinating, but there’s no way I’d go down there on my own 😂. All power to you, Pat. Stay out of bother ya mad man. 👍

I used to do a spot of caving with my old chum 'Richard' back in the days when I was fit and able. Richard was one of the finest men to ever walk this earth and a keen caver for many years. I'm 61 now and physically buggered. We did a few places like this but we concentrated mainly on the Coniston Copper Mines. It was a wonderful subterranean world that I'm proud to have entered. I was always shit scared but my Beloved was not, and used to thrill at abseiling down mine shafts and prussicing back up again.
Thanks for doing your wonderful videos Patrick. I am with you in spirit, but sadly not in person. Take care and enjoy the subterranean world.

Does appear to be a German bomb, doesn't it? I for one would have felt pretty safe under there, during that air-raid; and how wrong I would have been!

Hi Chris I think I have seen reports on the Leeds tunnels on "28dayslater" exploring site, might venture up there one day but plenty at moment in my local area. I surprise myself with the pictures a lot of them are due to light painting with a torsh with a 2 minute exposure, thanks for comments and watching Pat

Another brilliant exploration Pat! Thanks for letting us see this amazing part of the city. I'd love to take a metal detector down there - maybe pick up a couple of pieces of shrapnel if there was any left!
Looking forward to the next video, cheers Pat!

Superb work again, an all action masterpiece as Sheffield’s answer to Indiana Jones! Heart in the mouth moment on the weir edge, in a 12 year old blow up dinghy where the results could have been very different. Awesome indeed! :-)
Silhouette shots of you are just brilliant. Determination, persistence, planning and hard graft make for excellent viewing and as you say for posterity. Thanks very much.

When I saw your golden angel's wings in the first few seconds, with the ominous siren in the background, I thought: "No no no!!! Too soon, too soon!!!"
This is a truly fascinating exploration series, and well produced. The images you create are outstandingly good and deserve to be on display in an art museum.
Your presentation and pacing is superb. Thank you, Pat, for taking us along with you into this spooky subterranean civic treasure.

Gareth & Zoe Wildcamps Hi Gareth and Zoe, supposed to be wild camping but I find a bit of exploring interesting and something a little different. The filming and photography gives different but interesting challenges but once you have mastered it the videos are a pleasure and fairly straight forward, no people down there, no rain, no wind time to do a few retakes when you need it up. I have saved some places to explore for winter as it's somewhere to go in bad weather conditions. Would not go down in storm conditions though. Thanks for comments and watching, always look forward to your videos, all the best Pat
