It's validating to see one of the best sf6 players in the world get scrubbed out of a tourney by Jinrai kicks. Can't handle people going "just do X" as if Ken is obliged to do anything after the first kick.
Heavy Jinrai (where he screams "Jinrai") is minus 2 on block. You need to interrupt on the 25 frames of startup, or block and take the guess. Only the other versions are punishable.
Jinrai is always invincible reversal punishable. And drive reversalable. If Ken does L jinrai, it's punishable or interruptable with a 4 or 5 frame normal. If Ken does M jinrai, it's a frame trap. If Ken does H jinrai, it's a blockstring/frame trap. You can always parry the follow ups, but if he doesn't do a follow up, then you are in a parry state. You can DI the follow-up of slower jinrais, but others allow him to DI back. Still haven't labbed out the specifics. In short, only two things beat jinrai consistently: invincible reversal and drive reversal
@@AdamantMindset i mean u said it urself he got 2k in like 2 streams. i wouldnt call that long enough to master the character. not only that but he was learning new things during the tournament itself so clearly he hasnt mastered the character
Jamie is so fun to watch, sad that he isnt as popular as other characters. For some reason his drinking is really funny to me especially the people that keep drinking after lvl 4 😂 and his CA is really... something
i hated fighting him when game came out since the character felt so random since his move set changes. i later on played him myself and he is fun after 2 drinks. i just think people haven't experimented with him much but then again pro's want to win tournament so they will choose better option
Jamie is the character you put the most amount of work in for the same result that other characters give. And yeah punk's summary is pretty well summed up, Jamie is *begging* for like an EX drink move of some kind or at *least* him being able to keep his drinks in some way between rounds. Maybe like lower his drinks by one or two levels between rounds? Idk just SOMETHING man, that character needs some love
His damage is scaled 90% default he gets 5% back each drink. It’s kinda terrible tbh I think if he started at 100% and every drink gave him 2.5% damage he’d be a pretty dang good character
@@blackmanta2527 Idk you lose out on a lot of damage not drive rush cancelling when you got 2-4 drinks in. Plus if you got Critical Art it’d be even more worth because it does a ton of damage for Jimmy. Though on lvl 0 or 1 yeah I agree it’s probably not worth.
Yeah Honda is a piece of work and the crazy thing about him is that he's been a nightmare since the SF2 days...what a guy I prefer Jamie to Honda any day.
I still say Jamie needs to have his drinks halved between rounds at most instead of taken away completely. There's no reason for Manon to keep all her buffs every round and Jamie to have his taken away completely.
I'm a fighting game noob and my jamie is only plat, but I feel Jamie's normals are too stubby. It's like they can't punish many other character's whiffs.
try watching high-level Jamie or Kim players and see what distances they stay in. having stubby buttons hurts but you can counteract some of it with spacing. and abuse your fast walk speed. but I'd say if you want a more whiff punish focused fast character try chun, juri or cammy instead
@@QGfk1 thanks for the advice. I didn't mention it in the original post but I'm on modern. Most of the high level players are on classic and theres a lot of tech that is not available to me. I've always been bad at fighting games, and not coordinated enough to do the classic inputs. I'm actually thinking a trying Cammy, I mostly play Jamie because of the drunken master aesthetic.
His normals are not stubby. Cr MK and HK have god range. And you can space his palm to be unpunishable. Plus at lower ranks if you poorly space it they don't even know how to punish it
There’s a video on RUclips you can find that talks about some ways you can whiff punish with Jamie. Some of it is very devious. I wish I could remember the name of the video but it was recent like 2-3 weeks ago
@@mrrealman8020 the guy is normally pretty wholesome when he plays. He’s not LTG or DSP. And I doubt that you could even get a round on him. He’d most likely wash you while you drop combos 😂😂
Master 2000 points、and never once used hermits elbow, jamies overhead drink combo, Ransui haze... I used all of his moves and I can't get out of Diamond
his lvl 3 is a setup, he does mad damage converting after his lvl 3, if he is 4 drinks and hit lvl 3 on u you will take regular lvl 3 conversion damage (around 50 to 60%), his CA is the one who deals more damage.
I love punk, but him saying "stupid bot" to the good ken player, just berfore he reads him and eliminates him... This ken got my respect, this gave me protagonist vibes

definitely a jamie tournament in the game street fighter 6

Thank you top comment for telling me what this video is about
Hey sometimes you wake up in the middle of the night with this in your autoplay and need to know wtf is happening lol
@@winterkill1764punk originally uploaded it as Jamie Tourney SF6 for like the first hour😂
Punk is hilarious. He got a double perfect and said maybe I could've done better
So Punk is garbage !

I thought the first kick was punishable. There’s no way Ken would ever just let the first kick rock without doing a follow up right?
Can't you drive impact that for a punish or am I tripping?
Heavy Jinrai (where he screams "Jinrai") is minus 2 on block.
You need to interrupt on the 25 frames of startup, or block and take the guess. Only the other versions are punishable.
And by "punishable" I mean you should lab optimal for each distance you block, or risk whiff like we saw
Jinrai is always invincible reversal punishable. And drive reversalable.

I would love to see punk master Jamie, my gosh. The combos that would come out of that character
he is already 2k+ MR with jamie how much more master you want him to be? xD and he got that in just 2 streams lol like 3 hour streams

drinking after lvl 4 gives you drive meter tho…
I drink after level 4, you can use more meter if you do. Or you can use it to taunt
Oh I’ll definitely drink after level 4 to keep my drive meter green
man if u have 2 bars and ure on burnout, u just do confirm into lvl 2 super and just do whatev combo into drinking. Ur out of burnout in 3 seconds.

Buff Jamie he needs a fireball 😂🎉
Jamie Tourney Sf6 :)
Why can't Blanka use ball in the matchup? Is it because you can drink after you block it, or is it actually punishable on block in some way?
I dont think any character in sf6 is bad. Some are ridiculous, but no one is really bad
Nice Street Fighter X Tekken gameplay!
Anybody has thoughts on Jamie keeping his drunk state across rounds? It sounds op but manaan exists
Should keep half of drink from the previous round. If he has max he should have 2 in the next round.
or his level 2 shouldn't reset his drinks and leave him at 2
He should also keep his drinks that he does manually during his level 2
I love Jamie's character design, but the man literally tickles his opponents to death. Where is his damage?
He has mad range and conversion capability though

a lot of high level Jamie players I watch use cMK, sMK sHK and palm for counterpokes. I’ve been labbing him because I wanna main him as well

Not the worst but one of the average character because of low damage and moves locked behind drinks.
