First of all, your expression is wrong, in Chinese expression letters only as a pronunciation guide, Chinese characters have a specific meaning, for multiple Chinese characters may have the same pronunciation, this is called homophone, but also represents different meanings, so if you want to express "I love you", you should pronounce wo ai ni men，但是其实这也不能代表含义，因为在中文发音中是需要发音的平仄声来分辨的，真正代表含义的，还是汉字才可以，“我爱你们”😂😂😂

The traditional hanzi for ài 愛 is my favorite. It's sad that the 心 was removed.
Because it's not Japanese.
@ not true, traditional Chinese still uses the regular hanzi for ài. It's only in simplified/mainland Chinese that has the altered hanzi.
