You might not learn it right away...but the whole idea of "learning as you sleep" is that it enters your subconscious,(if you dont understand the subconscious and all of its capabilities I implore you to do so.) you can think of it as slowly downloading information. And when you commit to your studies during the day you see it speeds up your learning process.

I implore you to find accredited doctors talking about it instead of listening to social media. I still like the video and listen to it though!

No it isn't. I am also learning Chinese as a beginner. There are several apps you can use to learn Chinese. Especially Duolingo its super fun and easy to learn. It's been 2 or 3 months to learn Chinese with Duolingo. Now I understand some phrases in C dramas.

I wish there were more literal translations...it would really help. For instance: at 34:05, I read "You how much time go school?"
点 doesn't mean "time" as a duration, actually. 几点 is the question you answer by, for example 七点：seven O'clock.
