I collected ALL the monter high dolls. J collected the movies. The play sets multiple versions of them they were literally my treaure. I didn't play with the dolls much bc I adored them SO much.

This style is a mix between egirl and mall goth! I feel if you want to get into redrawing the monster high dolls you should look up mall goth and other alternative subcultures! They have very gothic styles in monster high!

If I were to design fashion dolls I would aim for different dolls to represent different styles The lines would all have themes, like beach parties for example, but each doll would have their own style/take on it

They put the lineart layer on "Protect Alpha" Mode and that means you can only draw on what you've already drawn if that makes sense, and they basically went with the brush over the layer and it only colored the lineart and not the outside of it

When it comes to Ever After High I get what you mean though, and this is my opinion so take it with a grain of salt, the idea of just down grading them or even making them more modern wouldn't fit the feel of the characters or setting. And not all of the characters are princesses, so to be honest I'm not sure why they all look so fancy. What would my solution be? Though it's not that detailed of a idea, I think something similar to how Monster High dressed their characters could work, but in a way that goes with Ever After High. What do we know about Monster High? It's about the children of classic or even not as talked about monsters coming together as one in a high school setting. The modern looks were based on them being in high school and the monster high style, though I think they branched out a bit more over the years, is inspired by 2000s hot topic fashion. Dark and somewhat edgy. For Ever After High, the story takes places in a world of fairytales, though it mostly takes place in a boarding school, where there is tension between royals and rebels. A war between traditionally ways and more diverse ways of thinking about where or who they want to be. Maybe to keep in spirit they can all have a bit of fairytale or fantasy spill to their looks too to keep with the setting. I'm not sure, but I'm sure you'll do great!
Translation: Ever After High's ideas and themes are fairytales/fantasy, the idea of tradition and new way thought with a boarding school setting that could be used as aesthetic as well.
Draculara backstory = draculars birth parents were rally close with Dracula so they named their daughter after him dracularas birth parents had died so Dracula had taken draculara and bit her so she could be a vampire too so she couldn’t die like her parents and Dracula had adopted draculara
I'd much much MUCH rather this reboot than the trash they have now tbh, as a veteran Monster High fan since an extremely young age I'm so pressed about it.
I feel like you could do ever after high because honestly the ever after high character designs..most of them dont look a lot like their parents. It bothered me a bit while rewatching the series. They just didn't look a lot like their parents.
