Watching this race back makes you appreciate just how good Frankel was. The jockey sends him into top gear with 6 furlongs to go and he still manages to win the race. I don't think any other horse in history could have overcome such a ridiculous ride.
This race proves that frankel as good as he was wasn.t the greatest ever ! Jockey lost the plot and believed he was on a secretiat . Fell over the line .ffs
@@lockoshocko it was the jockey who went way too early on him that made it that close, Frankel didn't choose the tactics. And BTW, secretariat wouldn't have got close to these modern horses with their outstanding breeding let alone get close to Frankel. You have to be American to keep believing the hype of a horse from about 50 years ago. Sea the stars would have slaughtered him too, Irish bred horses are clearly the best in the world.
This race is proof that Frankel ie not the Goat . another 20yrds he was beat . I don't go with the blame the jockey Bull. He was too cocky and almost paid for it.
Two totally different races. Riding from the front in a continual rhythm on a long striding horse isn’t comparable to trying to accelerate out of the pack six furlongs from home…
They do seem to have ridden him that way, get a big lead then hold on. In the guineas the lead dropped from 15 to 5 lengths, Zoffany might have won had he been closer to start with.
I honestly don’t think you will ever see a more terrible ride then the one given to Frankel in that race. Wtf was Tom thinking, literally asked him to go 6f from home when the only horse ahead of him was the pace maker guaranteed to comeback truly terrible jockeyship
Frankel saved Tom Queally in that one! But to be honest, it was the only bad ride he gave Frankel in his 14 starts. Not sure what the pacemaker's jockey was doing though.
He got scared of the pacemaker, who ended up stopping, this was Frankels worst race and only his class got Queally out of trouble. Anyone thinking Frankel was not the best ever, watch his next race at Royal Ascot, this horse kept Sir Henry alive longer than he would have lasted. RIP SIR HENRY.
The race that nearly got Tom Queally sacked . Sir Henry Cecil was said to be livid with his stable jockey after the race for not following pre race instructions . Only Frankel's class and great will to win got him home . The great Brigadier Gerard also struggled to win this same race following his 2,000 GNS win .
Awesome performance until the final furlong or so.. but was he idling or running out of gas? Ratings have Kingman winning this race by 3 lengths, but if he really was idling, it would have been fascinating.. Obviously the real Frankel would have won this 6 or 7 lengths, but to Queally's credit, he rode him pretty much perfect every race afterwards
@@ryanclark2671 He proved himself capable after the St James's Palace. The trainer (and owner) trusted him with the most important horse of our lifetime, so it was a big task and he delivered to perfection :)
Idling, the 2nd horse emptied out half a furlong out and was never going to do it. Hands and heels. Frankel won easily. the margin was flattering to the 2nd horse.
Frankel got his rider out of jail. Not sure why the pace maker went at it like it were a 6f race!? Two terrible rides. On another day the one out in front takes it a bit easier, Queally sits tight an extra furlong and Frankel wins by 5l+
Not in a million years would STS get near Frankel at 10F. You're talking about a horse that fell over the line in the Eclipse to beat Rip Van Winkle. Then fell over the line to beat basically 1 other rival in the Juddmonte ( the other 2 runners were pacemakers.) Yet you think he can beat Frankel over 10F who towelled a horse like Cirrus Des Aigles, who had a much higher performance level than anything Sea The Stars ever beat at any distance. As good as Sea The Stars was, his most effective journey was 12F where his best performance returns came. Frankels contemporaries such as Cirrus Des Aigles and So You Think would have handled Sea The Stars at 10F.
I can still remember this race was extremely overusing Frankel, one of the most terrible rides ever seen much worse than the guineas. Juddmonte had several unlucky bad rides on very good horses including Westover this year, should have learned the fact that jockeys really play a critical role even on champion horses in top level races. But frankly, let go earlier is better than holding up hard at the back and finishing late in a decent field given that it is a champion.
Instead of making dumb comments, it'd be better to look at the evidence. Frankel was asked to make a huge mid-race move that would killed lesser horses. And all any horse - be it Winx, Frankel or whoever - has got is about 3 furlongs completely flat before it'll start to stop, which is what happened here - inferior animals got close to Frankel due to complete jockey. incompetence.

Jockey rode to instructions 14 times and did not lose any race on Frankel.
Vo Rogue was ridden like that all the time .
@@jakeg3296
and lost a helluva lot more than he won.... against weaker opposition too.
Wow... already twelve yrs now! Wooooo
People criticising the jockey forget that he rode virtually the whole race from the front in the Guineas.

I think Queally does not know the concept of pacemaker..

Frankel won that in spite of a dreadful performance by the jockey. What a legend

That was a close one.
Martin Hill i know , my house was on it
Plenty of Guinea's winners have slipped up in that race in the past.
He tried to replicate his royal lodge ride
Was that the closest to being beaten?
@Safe
I think it was a little closer on his debut, but he was going away on that occasion.

Horse with the best turn of foot an you ride him like that 😂😂
@@ryanclark2671 haha it was pretty scandalous 😅 but the jockey knew he messed up and he made amends in every race since :)
Not sure not fucking up on the best horse with a pace maker is making amends lol

Another 100m and Frankel would have lost that....stlll, I suppose you could say the same about anything.
What a horrible ride from Queally

panic stations
Shit ride. Henry nearly had a heart attack. As good as he was he was running out of steam. STS would have beaten him over 1 m 2 f

Terrible ride and only a top top class horse could got the job done.
Pacemaker is 6 lengths ahead of the rest and is guaranteed to come back to the them but tom obviously doesnt think he'll come back. Terrible ride
Or maybe he was trying to put on a show.
Trying to ride him like in the royal lodge the previous year
scrambled home nearly beaten look at Henrys face

If this was 2000 metres up against Winx she would have won in a canter.
was it though? pointless comment. if my aunt had bollocks she'd be my uncle.

If this was 3 mile over fences I think he would definitely have lost.
Very poor ride from Queally.
He pretty much carried 15 stone on him the way that numbskull rode him that day. What a shame we didn't get 14 looks at Mick Kinane on him
This jockey is terrible but horse another level
クウィリー下手すぎ笑
これで勝つんだからやっぱフランケルやばいな
Stupid ride
One of the worse rides ive ever witnessed.
Bad ride
