Nin, I have eaten many foods from many cultures around the world. I have to say that Khao Soi in Chiang Mai is the best thing I have ever eaten in my life. Sometimes I dream about it. Thank you for the recipe! I will try making it for my wife and hope I can make it almost as good as the streets of Chiang Mai!
Oh my! I was meeting a Thai friend in Mexico and she asked me what she could bring me from Chiang Mai and I said as a joke, Khao Soi! She actually brought me the sauce for khao soi! I am so thankful! Also your recipe makes the perfect dish! Thank you for that! 🙏🙏🙏
Khao Soi is my favorite Thai comfort food dish! I love Nin’s authentic preparation. They included the shrimp paste. For many westerners that’s a difficult flavor/aroma but if you leave it out you will notice its absence. Use it!
Yay so happy I found your page! I miss Chiang Mai so much and I’ve been craving this dish and now I can make it thanks to you I’m happy to be a new subscriber!
This is a delicious rich, creamy and slightly spicey yellow curry dish! Your version is so authentic! i surely enjoy this dish! Stay safe and God bless ❤️👍
This is one of my favorite northern Thai food dishes. I am happy to watch your video and bring me back to Chiangmai. Thanks for sharing your beautiful video!💕🇹🇭
Great work Nin! I've watched all Khao Soi recipes on RUclips and yours comes closest to the best Khao Soi I've had in Chiang Mai. Sawdtee Kap! You deserve so much more followers, keep it up! 💯
chiang mai curry.... look taste... I watched from start to finish following step by step. I am waiting for the next video. Good luck. Big Hug dear, stay safe, stay health
Thanks for this. Visited Thailand a few years ago and went to a small local spot and had this great dish. Even when it felt like 100 degrees outside and no air conditioning we loved it. ALso had some awesome Khao Soi in Toronto
Hey Nin, by any chance do you have a video showing how to cook Choo Chee Moo? I couldn't find it in your list 🤓 Also, where can I find your friend's restaurant in Sydney? 😜 Hope you guys are safe. xx
This is a mouth watering dish my dear. I love Thai food and everytime i travel to Thailand I always eat this dish and sometimes i cook at home to satisfy my crave. New friend here! See you round
Your chopping skill is awesome!!! Such a great cook😄 It looks very creamy and tasty. 5:38 it's my favorite moment!!! 👍👍 It would be perfect with egg noodles!!!
Hello Nin and All, I have tried this recipe for Saturday dinner. I had not read the comments, so I did use cumin instead of tumeric. My perspective is that it is somehow close to chicken Tikka Massala style. But with real chillies. I used papardelle pasta. I have air-fried some spaghettis for the crispy bits, next time I will fry (I don't like the oil smell in the house). The European in our house (me) liked it and resisted to chillies, Asians (wife and daughter (50/50)) found it hot, is it not funny ? Please continue to post, it is delicious cooking style
Sa wad dee ka Xavier Melisse 😊🙏 I'm sorry for the mistake 😓 but I'm glad to hear it turns out yummy like a Tikka Massala That sounds yummy, I've never tried the dish with pasta before (also the crispy spaghetti) 🤤 Good job on your resistance. Spicy lover, hehe 🔥😋 Thank you for watching have a great day and take care 🙏
Wow, 💛💛💛💘 Your video was great. I like so much. Thank you for sharing. Have fun with your loved ones and family. See you in the next video. My friend./.
When I was on Koh Phangan last year I met a chef from chiang mai who cooked Khao Soi for us and it´s probably my favorite meal ever. It was a little bit more soup / curry like though with small chicken pieces . But besides that it looked very similar. I´ll definitely try this recipe out! :D
Aroy mak mak! It's one of my favorites, I will try to make it :) But one ingredient should be turmeric not cumin? Anyway it looks so delicious na, looking forward to watching more of your videos and learning to cook more thai foods.
Thank you so much! and please check the ingredients list in the description box because in the video I wrote one wrong ingredient 😅 Yes, you can skip fingerroot if you can't find it and yes, galangal or ginger is a good substitute 🥰👌
The texture of these looks amazing! Well done. And with a more health conscious aspect to the recipe, it's very appealing. Great video! -l subscribed & will watch your videos like 125
In your recipe above, you say the paste "can make Khao Soi two times". Does that mean the amounts of all the paste ingredients are for 600 gm of chicken or for 1200 gm of chicken?? Very confusing, but it looks delicious so I don't want to mess it up! Thanks!
Looks delicious and Khao Soi is my favorite Thai dish! Going to attempt making this weekend but I live with pescatarians so will be using shrimp as our meat. Any recommendations on how long to cook shrimp instead of chicken in the curry/coconut milk broth? thank you!
Wow, that sounds yummy! I think you should cook shrimp separately to make sure it will not be overcooked. So when your soup is done, add the shrimp. I hope you will enjoy this recipe! 🤗
Thank you so much for this recipe!! 💜 I went to Thailand last year with my sister and we had this dish in Chiang mai and it was one of my favorite Thai dishes. there is no place in California that serves it 😭. So excited to try this recipe :)
Hi John! I'm glad to hear you like one of my hometown dish! (I lived in Chiang mai, hehe) 😊🙏 Hope you will enjoy this recipe! Have a great day and take care! 🍜😊🌈
I'm not sure I understand your question 😅 but I will answer what I understand. I made Khao Soi paste by myself and the only curry I add in it's a normal yellow curry powder. This dish mostly cook with meat or vegetable but not fish at all. Hope this help 😊
Looks amazing, can't wait to try your recipe! My partner doesn't like shrimp paste in our curry pastes because she finds it gives too much of a 'fishy' flavor that she doesn't like. Would you recommend that we substitute the shrimp paste for something else, or just leave it out? Kop khun ma kap :)
At the moment 01:58 It is not the "Cumin" it is *"Tumeric"* Sorry for the mistake guys! 😅
