    The steam dumpling stuffings are bamboo shoot (nor-mai หน่อไม้), chives (guei-chai กุยช่าย), and jicama (män-geaw มันแกว). It’s the same jicama you can find in the states that people use to make fries. Jicama can be eaten fresh with chili/salt dip, sautéed, or deep fried.

    Guys.. it is customary to seasoning your food here in Thailand. That’s why we have the sauce for almost everything. The set of condiments on the table in all noodle shops (no matter how spicy/tasty the noodle from that shop is). Even the Thai fast food like the rice topped with the dishes (curry, stirred fried dishes, fired eggs etc, you tried that kind of shop in your vdo) there will be a small cup of fishsauce with chilli/garlic and hint of lime served with your plate of rice.
    This is because everyone has different liking. Unlike western food, we don’t care if you put more seasoning in the dish we make.

    • @ChovyTravel
      @ChovyTravel  16 дней назад

      I know, right!? We were such noobies! 😩🤦 We learned our lesson to always use the sauce the vendors provide.

      @@ChovyTravel I know. We (my husband and I) lived in the US for 10 years or so. When I eat western food, I normally put only salt and pepper and it seems ok to me. My husband always looks for a sauce to dip still. He never gets used to eating food without the sauce. What I normally do is eating food without the sauce first. Then with the sauce. Sometimes we even seasoning the sauce provided because we kinda know it would better if so.

    2 kinds of chinese deep fried donut : the round one is sweet; the double-stick one is not sweet. They are both good with either hot coffee or pandan dip. The fried tofu stall also has fried radish (mixed with flour) & fried taro (mixed with flour). If you are crave for american-western style breakfast, give a try to Toby’s near Saladeang Bts. 23:35 i think she misunderstood the word "auo-pai" to 'tao-rai' (how much), so that's why she answered "80 baht". Aou-pai is the literal translation of the word 'take(auo)' and 'away(pai)'. Instead, Thais usually use the word 'auo-sai-toong' (put in a bag) or 'auo-grap-baan' (take back home) when you want a takeout. I hope this helps you understand more. ❤

    Most of the restaurants you’ve visited in bkk doesn’t have Michelin “stars” but are either in their “guide” or something called “bib gourmand”. The only Michelin star street food in Thailand is Jay Fai, the rests are all fine dining

    We started to watch your videos for the past 3 weeks. We are Thais who live in the US. Your video reminds us of home. We love your prospective on Thailand. Just curious what did you do (work) before traveling and doing RUclips?

      Thank you so much 🥹😃🫰❤️🙏! Which part of the US?
      We had a business and sold that. Took a break before we decided to travel and do RUclips. We’re so shocked how well our RUclips Channel is doing so well that we decided to do it full time 😁. We appreciate the love and support 🥹🥹🫰🫰❤️❤️. Hopefully we can reach 10K soon because we have something really special for Thailand/Thai People. I know it’s far fetched but we’re still hopeful we can get there. The sooner the better, we’re so excited to make that video 😁

      @@ChovyTravel We live in Arizona. I grew up in So Cal. One tip for Thai food is most of the food Thai people eat with a sauce. There’s a sauce for almost every food. When you eat a sausage, always chase it down with cabbage or ginger. It makes it taste way better.
