I`m sorry to say it but chances are his parents were much much worse. My parents were repressed, my grandpa barely survived and my great grandpa got killed. That was done to us by communists. They wanted to do the same in Chile but instead the Hunta won and got rid of them. Truth is the Hunta in Chile was thousands of times better than the communists. They play the victim today because they lost not because they were any better.

I realize 10K sounds like a lot but you have to take it into comparison. For example my country lost 200K people and had half the population and those communists where trying to do a dictatorship themselves so you really missed a bullet there. I feel no sympathy for communists.

We might have the highest GDP in South America, but that it's not the reflection of our reality, because the richest 1% controles everything and 'thanks' to them our GDP is high. The ends DO NOT justify the means, we lost more than 2.000 lives just because they thought differently. There's only one thing that i'm thankful of the dictator General Pinochet, and that is that I'm sure that this will never happen again. Not while concious people lives in this country.

The problem of not knowing how to differentiate between extremist ideologies, be they from the right or the left, is that there is a tendency to assume that one political pole is bad and the other is not, when both extremes are bad, both the Maduro dictatorship and the Pinochet dictatorship
