I hope Sonic does what the Garfield franchise did: After the live-action Garfield movies were released, Jim Davis (creator of Garfield) decided to create a trilogy of CGI direct-to-DVD movies with himself as the writer. It ended up being way more faithful to the franchise, in my opinion.
