he probably had the best proportions out of all the bodybuilers of that time. he wasnt insanely huge, but all of his body parts complement each other really well, together creating a truly wonderful physique

@@blueberrygod8275 Correct -- the way those who competed in '81 were robbed. To make it clear, I was rooting for Franco, as he was my favorite at the time. I knew about his accident & hoped he'd be able to make a comeback. (The photo coverage in "Muscle & Fitness" at the time led one to believe that his win was deserved. @@klinticenaj7031 Mike looked better at his prime than Arnold ever did. Many people will disagree with me on this, but Mike had aesthetic and proportion that could rival athletes today. He was certainly not lacking in genetics.
@@klinticenaj7031 That's outright not true, his chest and back are some of his best parts. If I had to name his weaknesses I'd say his blocky waist and his left shoulder, but even so he beats Arnold in aesthetics.
@@nightmarex4740 I don't know what you are looking but apart some front double his other poses e loses not only to arnold that was not at his best but to alot of other competitors
People say he was wrong in his training philosophy, but in fact he was right, what he did worked for him/ his body, his genetics allowed him to get the best progress with HIT, he said that it didn't work for most of his clients, so he adviced them to train in different ways until they found out together what worked best for their body. I've found im the exact opposite, with more "workhorse" like genetics, i get little soreness and fatigue and actually grow the best training to failure every day 6 days a week, if you're not the fast twitch muscle fiber build, then you'll get less sore and almost the more volume the better in some cases.

First of all, he was fine as fuck 😳💗 Second of all, his story is actually pretty sad when you actually research it truly 🥲 Meant to be great but ended up as a lost cause. Kinda sad that people judge him as weak-minded in this generation that is so open about mental health but man really worked his ass off to go all the way up in success and then have life bust his ass all the way down in misery. The amphetamines effect bc of his overworking activity to become Mr. Olympia, his father's death, his gf dumping him, him getting blacklisted by the IFBB and losing all his income, losing his own fitness magazine that he was writting and the only source of income he had left....would have made anyone lose their shit. Sadly he ended up with the psychosis effect he mentioned 🫤 Bodybuilding gave him everything but also took it all from him. 5 years in a psych ward and no one to care. So sad really 😭 May he rest in peace ✨

Him and his Brother May Rest in Peace 🙏🥺💪🏼👍🏼
Mentzer had an underrated physique
Honestly he had such a beautiful yet violent looking physique dude looked like a true olympian.
Probably one of my favourites I find it crazy he took meth as pre work out though 😂

Most of the people just know Arnold from the golden era, but forget legends like Mike Mentzer, Serge Nubret and Dave draper.
true but arnold had a huge impact on bodybuilding bigger than anyone ever before and after
Tom Platz
он показал нам, что бодибилдинг - это не спорт, а наука . жаль, что с ним так произошло, но он внес большой вклад .
