I don't know if you take video requests but I was wondering if you could talk about intuitive eating and recovery. I kept hearing from dieticians and therapists on social media that intuitive eating is good for people recovering from eating disorders, and that it's commonly used in eating disorder recovery. So I bought the book, but it made things a lot worse for me. All the stuff about eating slowly/mindfully, not overeating, paying attention to hunger cues, and only eating what you crave and want to eat instead of whatever is there made me hyper focus on food, hunger, and how I eat and I ended up going backward. I wasn't sure if I was just misunderstanding something about intuitive eating or if it's not actually meant for people with restrictive disorders.
I have a problem deciding what to eat at all somedays- I honestly feel like there are no cravings at this point, like I did the crazy eating and at this point in recovery I wonder if I actually still have an issue, because food isn't on a pedestal?
@enough425 true yes but I feel like I don't always know and so I just eat what I always do... And maybe that's normal. I know plenty of people who eat that way.
i’m in recovery at the moment & there are times where i say to myself “what the hell do i want to eat????” i totally get it, i think the fact that you know deep down you can eat unconditionally but also your cravings can be all over the place. i always go for whatever comes to my head & what i know will make me feel good and satisfied
In my first attempt at recovery 2 years ago I could eat cereal all day!😂 I think its because as a child I remember how much I loved my favorite kinds❤. And I could eat a whole box in one day! 😂 It was also a food I restricted completely unless (oatmeal). So for many in recovery. Cereal is a craved food and a comfort one❤
Yes, since I was born, very unresolved. 🤣 I am pretty sure I was raised on cereal so it is very much a comfort food for me and one I’m so glad I can eat freely now! It was also so dang hard to overcome that fear in recovery so I have a lot of gratitude to my old self for sitting through many uncomfortable days.

How do you create a meal plan or decide what to have for meals?!

Isn’t that the ultimate goal ? I would think once you eat it all you gravitate to what your body needs ?

Why are you so obsessed with cereal? Unresolved issues?
