    The cheesey intro animation and scripted discussions LOL Great group of owners and very interesting aircraft though.

      The animation was just a bit of fun - the pilot discussions weren't scripted but the voiceover was. Directing pilots is similar to herding cats - they all go their own way.

    12-15 inch waves is a good wave limit, although I have had to operate my buccaneer in much higher waves. Starting at 2ft and growing to about 4ft in open water. I don't recommend operating In conditions like this but it just goes to show what a robust aircraft the buccaneer is.

    • @alabastardmasterson
      @alabastardmasterson 3 года назад +2

      Surprisingly robust hulls but being able to deal with chop and wind depends on the model of Lake and the pilot. But, still light yrs better than newer models that haven't taken 70yrs of data in to account

      Thanks for watching the videos. Regarding buying and fixing a seaplane - my advise would be concentrate on any corrosion issues - they’re the expensive and time consuming problems - mechanical issues are easily fixed with just money. Cheers Ben

    Great video!! so, 12 to 15 inches waves are the limit for Bucaneers? also, can they stay on the water overnight? thank you, great flying!

    • @buccaneerben
      @buccaneerben  5 лет назад

      Yes, about 15" of chop is considered the limit - of course, it can take more but stresses the hull. Insurance companies normally won't cover overnight mooring.

    • @alabastardmasterson
      @alabastardmasterson 3 года назад +2

      Mach Tuck there are videos on RUclips of touch and goes in 2ft shallow chop with 45mph crosswinds. In a newer LSA amphibian that's a death sentence but the Lake's are solid as oak. Not recommended but for the biggest sacks, though
