Hi Becky, from a 51 year old guy with a knackered knee you young lady are an inspiration to others. I cant do half the walks you and you family do due to my knee. Only on stage 2 and I have am 100% confident in saying you're gonna smash this walk. Keep going keep that lovely smile going and we'll see you in stage 3.😊
Dont let that break you buddy . 3 serious motorbike accidents various rock climbing incidents later pins and permanent metal inserts i dont walk to straight ( wet pretzl) take morphine permanently now for pain , im 56 and take off for months on end in tents . Dont let a bit of discomfort ruin your thing ,
Really cool, this is the series that has tipped me over the edge and I'm now planning the west Highland way hike with my brother and sister next spring. Very inspiring stuff
Gj just remember to bring the midge spray . A lot of people find Skin so soft works . I'm not an influencer ,other sprays are available HaHa. Good luck . Scotland especially the west highlands is cold in the winter which puts people off and in the summer the weather can get pretty hot but then you get the inglorious midge that spoils it for everyone . During this pandemic the Scottish gov have an advert for people to holiday locally . But after a week or two in the wind and rain or being chased by midges the minute you walk out into the fresh air you will definitely need a holiday somewhere else . Ha HA . All the best
@@rambojambo588 that will definitely help but don't lye outside when you're drunk . You could end up looking like a map of the moon when you wake up . ha ha

You ran into different types of weather as you walked through that part of Scotland, Becky. It is great that you have your mosquito net with you to keep the bugs from biting you. I hope you have a great weekend and the new week is great for you..
amazing person on an amazing journey. Becky showed all the skills as an armature hiker that most pros would be proud of. Becky I hope you enjoyed Scotland, and may all your future journeys be great.

So excited to see another video from you. Looks like you are having an amazing time in bonnie Scotland. Thank you for taking us with you. Wish I had done it when I was younger. Xxx

Weather turned out nice 👍🏴 Tom Weir was always on TV in Scotland when I was a boy. His sister Molly used to be in the Flash adverts in the 70s too.
Hi G.O I mentioned to you a long time ago about long distance walks, like the Ridgeway a 4 day hike, Pembrokeshire coastal path a 10 day hike , quite strenuous with grade 1, 2, and 3 sctions, and the classic Pennine way a walk between 14 and 19 days, depends if you wild camp or use the many bothies available. Good on Ya G.O for your perseverance and encouragement but most of all your very cheerful outlook.
Yes it reminds me of my time in Scotland in winter. When it comes down it really does. The lochs have really cold water but good to drink not sea loch's that's salt water. I take my hat of to you dear.
Have been looking forward to seeing this trip. I was meant to be there myself but I live in Spain and because of (gestures everywhere) I will have to do it another time, maybe spring. So in some way, watching you hike this trail helps ease my own disappointment of not being able to. I look forward to seeing the rest of the journey, you seem to be wanting to do it for the right reasons, which is great to hear such wise words from someone so young. All the best, stay safe.
I totally remember that campsite at the end of Loch Lommond. People had told me about it in advance but when hiked the shore, it had been raining the whole day. So it's funny to see how beautiful of a spot it seems to be in good weather. When I reached this little beach, there was nothing but mud all over. I even got lost for a minute because there was no trail to be seen anymore. I decided to go for the Bothy but some people decided they did not want any company and had shut the door from inside. So with last daylight (I hiked the first week of october) I went for Beinglas Farm in Inverarnan. In the end I was glad I did, because it's a really neat place with some great curry and a small shop for resupply .
good morning. planned to do this in 2000 as as sponsored walk but foot and mouth halted it. sadly never returned to the idea. really enjoying your trip and your "free" attitude. well done! looking fwd to the next episode(s)
The first minute of this video I was half expecting to see a sheep fly-by. "Permission to Buzz the tent" brrrrrrvvvrrroommm and it looked like you got some wind burn after your decent. 2:33 Adventure! you got in some nice scenic shots. Some of those places I could see myself just sitting their all day soaking it in. I'm glad you're getting to meet some interesting people. Sooner or later you'll know so many regular hikers that you'll likely bump into them again.
Well done so far. I am really enjoying your vids. When the weather broke up I thought you were in for a rough time but you got lucky. Hope your luck holds out. Looking forward to the next post. Gray.
Hi Becky, great video again, I walked this about 25 years ago in 4 days with scorching sunshine everyday. Would have loved to have had the camera equipment you use nowadays as back then the camcorder was about the size of your backpack and no mobile phones then. Watching your videos brings back amazing scenic memories of the walk, so looking forward to your next one.
I'm very much enjoying this. I did this walk in 2000, in 4 days. One day I'd love to do it again. The highlight was the walk over the Devil's Staircase out of Glencoe. Keep up the great content. Love it.
It's wonderful to live the different situations that wildlife has as well as the strong wind that you had on the hill. In this stage the climate was varied such as wind, heat, cold and humidity but with those beautiful landscapes and also your pleasant voice in your comments, you transmit a lot of harmony. I'm not saying the same thing about the midges that these are like piranhas with wings hahaha, it was a good idea to carry a net. Very good video. 😁🇨🇱
I'm following this series with great interest, as I'd like to walk the WHW myself. I often drive to Scotland, and that spot you camped in is opposite the point on the road where I always feel that I've arrived in the highlands properly. Lovely video - thanks very much.
Hi Claire - I was on that section about one month ago and had been pre-warned about the detour. Was walking at that point with another couple and we looked at the crossing where the bridge had been swept away and decided that it was no worse to ford it by stone-stepping than any other place along the trail. Which is what we did with no mishaps - I can however see that if there had been full flow of water cascading down we would have taken a different decision; we were just lucky that previous 2-3 days had been dry.

May to the end of September, midges, everywhere, especially anywhere which is a bit sheltered. Avon Skin So Soft used to be the magic bullet which stopped them. It leaves a slightly moist residue on your skin and they get stuck, can't bite and just die wherever they have landed. And then you just wash them off. Sadly Avon changed the formulation and it doesn't work any more.
