A nice comprehensive review. I was just thinking, now that the weather is warmer and I don't have all my pockets from my vest and pants I need something with pockets.
There's plenty of pockets and storage with this and you hardly know your wearing it 😀🏃♂️

That is a nice looking vest right there. I love that it's small and light yet it can still hold a decent amount of things inside of it. You always make great choices with your gear.

Great review, Martin, this vest is like a t-shirt extension. I've never had the courage to wear such a vest because the water bottles in front of me are a bit uncomfortable. I prefer to have them on the back side, but in terms of utility it is a great vest! Thanks for the review!
Thanks Mihai, I'm the opposite and don't get on with the bladder in the back, unless it's super hot and I know I'll need extra water 👍🏃♂️

I went with North Face for my first ever running vest and loved it. I ended up switching to Orange Mud a few years ago and haven't shopped around much since then. I'm definitely a creature of habit lol. Once I find something I like, I use it until I can't use it anymore.
At least you like to get your monies worth! Maybe time for an upgrade soon though 😉🏃♂️

Nice review Martin. I was surprised to hear that it was preproduction and nearly one year old. I’m curious how long it was before they went into production. Thanks always, Wayne.
It was released this spring, everything gets thoroughly tested for quite some time before release dates. I'm lucky enough sometimes to get sent kit from different running brands to test things out before they get released, brands always want to hear feedback on their products 👍🏃♂️

Thanks Martin for the NorthFace vest review. Super light and some great features like the ability to slide the snaps and accessibility of most pockets. Have you tried running with the poles in the back to see if it interferes with arm swing? Otherwise it's a great vest!

Great review! I'm looking for a vest for running in hotter temperatures. Does this breathe well (salomon's tend to be relatively warm). And have you ever worn the vet without a shirt (salomon vests don't tend to work for me shirtless). Thanks!
Thanks Paul, to be honest I'd say the Salomon breathes better in warmer weather. I've not tried the TNF shirtless but I find the Salomon rubs my skin off shirtless, it's too cold here now to put that to the test with the TNF vest 🤣🥶
Great review! I know you said your a medium I’m trying to figure out what size I would be as I never had a running vest, I’m 6 feet 152 lbs. Any help would be appreciated, thanks again for the awesome reviews!
Thanks, I'm also 6ft and at the moment 168 lbs which is heavier than I normally am but it sounds as if the med would be a good option. Hard to know for sure until you try it, as everyone has different shaped shoulders/chest etc, but the vest is nice and stretchy so should be good 👍

I'm loving all those pockets. A lot roomier than I would have guess just from looking at it.
You can fit the kitchen sink in it! Really useful piece of kit to have 👍

Yes it will fit your phone and wallet, it comes with 2 500ml bottles and they don't leak. You can use the vest for running and hiking, I'm not sure about fishing though. It's pretty small fitting, so I'd say if you get chance, try it on for size before buying 👍
I'm confused. This looks like TNF's old "Flight Trail Vest" (same white color seen on D-Bo and Coree Woltering). This does not appear to be the same "Flight Race Day 8l Vest" listed on TNF's site. Did you get a chance to try the new one? Nevertheless, good review!
Hi JC, it is the new Race Day vest just in white. TNF sent me various Spring 21 products to try out, they have just changed the colour. Thanks for watching 👍

FLIGHT Is this vest suitable for trail running?
Yes, that's what it's designed for, it's ideal for carrying the kit you'll need out on the trails 👍🏃♂️
@@TheDeterminedRunner But the new 10L vest, don’t you feel that the design is weird, the back neck is too high, I’m not sure if it will wear the skin. If it is, it's too painful
@@ytfjajytfjaj2324 I've not had a problem with the back neck, I do remember having a vest years ago that rubbed on my skin and I ended up giving it away, but I've not had that issue with the TNF vest 👍
Many of your comments are repitiouus. Say it once, I got it. Also, you never showed how the soft flasks fit in. Does this vest have a retractable bottle system? If there is stuff in the pockets, will it affect how easy the bottles slide in? How well does it hold a reservoir? What size reservoir? So, lots of questions
The soft flasks slide in & out easily enough when pockets aren't overly filled, if they are then it's more of a squeeze getting them back in. It will take a reservoir, not sure what the largest size would fit as I generally don't use them, but if you did have a bladder in, it would reduce the internal storage. It's not the largest vest for storage, I'll use it for day runs, but if I were doing a big event that needed plenty of gear I'd use a different vest.
@@TheDeterminedRunner Cool thank you. Does this vest have soft bottles that can be "pulled" into the pocket from the bottom of the pocket? It looks like a TNF proprietary bottle with a little loop on the bottom. If it does have these bottles, do they seem to work well? (these bottles may be on a newer version) Much appreciated!
No you can't access via the bottom for the bottles & when I received the vest mine didn't come with bottles, so I just use my Salomon flasks in it. Cheers
