Couple questions i have. 1: How do you make these kinds of missions and play them in custom battles? 2: (this is for everyone) If you had to choose what sort of aircraft role you would pick in a ww2 era carrier what would you do? Would you do fighter role, dive bombing, torpedo/level bombing, attacker or an aircraft that can do a mix? I think doing some recreations of the battles that happened during the Solomon island campaign could be cool. Quite a few things you could do especially with the cactus air force.
Honestly, I would pick a naval scouting patrol role. They were typically a lot safer than fighters or dive bombers (that's not even to mention how dangerous it was to be in a torpedo bomber). Not only that, but scouting was essential to carriers as you couldn't strike what you couldn't see. I think I could make a pretty good impact in that role
This scenario used to be available as a custom battle, but I haven't been able to find it for some time now. Either it's not there any more, or was given some cryptic new name. I used to have fun defending Pearl Harbor with MiGs, Spitfires, Bf-109s, P-51D...
In the real battle there were hundred upon hundreds of Japanese planes, they first took out the airfields so they could have un-contested air superiority, and made way for their torpedo bombers. THE most successful surprise attack in history…
There were around 350 Japanese planes. Fun fact, the Yamato and escorts were attacked by 400. Another fun fact, the light cruiser escorting the Yamato in its last mission, the Yahagi, took 12 bombs and 7 torpedoes before sinking, which is an insane amount for a light cruiser.
Quite surprised to see no one in their B5N2 are carrying the 800kg bombs as they are much more effective on sinking those battleships ( and that’s what Arizona got rekt with)
Did you know the 800kg bomb that detonated the USS Arizona was actually a refurbished 410mm shell from the IJN Mutsu? I find a lot of people didn't know this and I think it's quite an interesting tid bit of information
I miss when War Thunder had done a Pearl Harbor looking event map thing way back then. It was fun cause it had spotlights in the air, flak firing, etc.
Aircraft came after Pearl Harbor, a flight of F4F's I believe. They were shot at because of the previous raid by the Japanese obviously. I think five aircraft were shot down, three pilots dying.
I wonder why the Japanese didn't use 800kg AP/HE bombs against the battleships (800kg AP caused the famous disaster of Arizona in history, and in the game 800kg HE can easily destroy a battleship if it's thrown correctly), and also, I think torpedoes can destroy the BBs if they aim at the ammo storage.
Well this is interesting up how would you simluate the suprise because in the real attack many of the planes werent even ready to take off and most of the crew were asleep
Also do Leyte Gulf, and many other Pacific battles. Also you should take in account of there being Douglas B-18 Bolo and The Boeing B-17 Flying Fortess.
I like that I could easily tell when you were showing my perspective though that is mostly because I might have been the only one firing my rear gun at the American ships.
"these planes are horrible" ..... -.- yeaaahhh, no it's not the plane that's horrible it's the pilot behind the stick that is, learn your aircraft strengths and weaknesses.
@@liquidleopard4495 Expect no P40's ever got airborne during the attack on pearl harbor, they were P-36's if you knew your history you'd know that, and even then those P-36's still managed to score a few kills.
It really doesn't surprise me people brought out the Seal P36 XD
THE BADGER
Badgers plane lives forever
I love how in the background their was an F-4S at 3:56 lol
im glad i got quoted by saying "dont crash on takeoff again" thanks for the fun muffin :)
my mic was bugged too so sorry for poor quality
The Arizona staying alive and getting revenge was amazing
This is in my opinion one of your best videos

The most dangerous by far were torpedo bombers, then dive bombers, then fighters. Probably a fighter pilot.

USS Arizona was the mvp here taking all the hits and killing planes and still surviving
This was a great representation of the battle. Well done.

Well, there was Taranto.

Gotta love the formations ❤
some of the uss look like they came straight out of br 1.0, they were doing terible!
I'd like to see a "Final Countdown" version, where we see how this plays out with the US having a squadron of jets in the air. :)
Why was there an F-4s

I think you should do Operation Rolling Thunder next!
Was literally just watching the film for the first time then this pops up.
I miss when War Thunder had done a Pearl Harbor looking event map thing way back then. It was fun cause it had spotlights in the air, flak firing, etc.
Naval plane events have to be some of the most fun out there, at least we can coordinate -ThatOnePineapple
imo, it didn't help that the enemy camped the airfield spawn in the second round, and not giving you a chance to fight. just saying
Interesting channel! I hope you will do air battles in sea with human controlled ships too!
2:00 ah yes, forgot the F-4S was historically part of the defense of Pearl Harbor
Nice good work do more naval battles at night
I love the tracer's

Amazing video but i think it would have been better if ships were actual players and fired back
More of these! You also should make a naval one with accurate ships.
While you where laoding the first game:
"Bro i have never been in an event can i join"
"Is it to late to invite?"
🤣
Would be me

USS Arizona has 250kg torpedo protection
@@zohaibtariq7351it's definitely more than just 250kgs worth of torpedo protection lol
@@usssimshullnumberdd-4095 250 kg TNT equivalent

There’s so many battles you can do for this. This is great, is anyone able to set up customs maps like this?
Well this is interesting up how would you simluate the suprise because in the real attack many of the planes werent even ready to take off and most of the crew were asleep
7:40 This pilot survived that day, but he did not become a US hero.
I never anticipated to ram muffin there😂

you should do another nation vs nation video
Yess I finally got it
My very first event, I sucked but it was fun!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
as a macdonald nation main those macdonald nation fighters were one of the worst players i ever saw
I like that I could easily tell when you were showing my perspective though that is mostly because I might have been the only one firing my rear gun at the American ships.
It was a really nice shot. Glad it made it in.
Midway next !!!!!!! awesome vid thanks :)
Jagtiger vs object 268 please
No level/dive bombers?

A P-40 has no strengths right after takeoff. It needs a chance to climb *and* get up to 300mph. The other team didn't allow that in 1941 or 2023.

If you do this again don’t forget to add pt boats.
As like the majority of the US players
Does anyone not see at the begining at 1:36 when they say tora tora tora someone said my balls itch💀💀💀
He said Battleships
Henko hento banzai
3:43 play chicken
Why was there in an F4 phantom in the battle?😂
It lived in infamy. Rest in peace to the real men who lost their lives at that gruesome surprise attack.
