Heya mateys!!!! So good to see ya here. I hope you like the vid this week! Let me know what your best opp shop finds are in the comments - I'm so excited to know!!
The best thrifted fabric I ever bought was a table cloth I found at a flea market, it's white and it has golden suns, moons and stars. It's so whimsical and I turned it into a gathered skirt😙
I love that you just randomly came up with the design for the top and it turned into the most scrumptious ruffly goodness! I'm on my way to make one right now!!
In any item category I will never top this years’ find: an unfinished quilt top from the 30s/40s, handpieced scrappy hexie flowers (I did the math, 3500 pieces). Each flower has a personality and there’s hundreds of white pieces outlining each, almost framing them so she lives on my wall as a mini art gallery of its own. Since then the universe keeps sending me fabric hexagon pieces and blocks. Some will get finished for my bed, but I’m loving adding leftover blocks from someone else’s project to clothing upcycles for me -the yoke of a plain denim jacket, lengthening a simple dress with an explosion of color, hiding a random logo on a grocery tote etc I can’t be the only one who finds unfinished or handmade projects thrifting and die a little seeing them unloved then have to rescue the items right?!??? 💔❤️🩹💞
New follower as I’m a huuuge fan of sewing and have not found many fellow sewists who’s content I enjoy, I am here to say I love your videos (that I have already watched) and I’m about to go watch the rest. This top is SO cute and has inspired me to make something like it in dress form for my daughter ❤
This is the nicest comment!! Well thank you for watching - I appreciate you!! this top as a dress & for a little one - GORGEOUS!! I hope it goes well!!
So many sweet op shop finds. Best one for price - over 40 mts pink and white stripe soft furnishing fabric for $20. One I love the most - a hand painted water colour of a tree near shallow water in grass at sunset.
I got a $3 table cloth with the most lovely green and pink gingham and turned it into a little skirt and top set. So in love. I think I need to add interfacing to the skirt waistband to make it sit nicely but I've never done that before so eeep. This video was so cute, absolutely adore the results 😍 😊
I think my best thrifted fabric was a green heavy linen duvet cover. It is so pretty and a rich green. It retails for $109- $129 and I got it for $15/$16 usd!!!! And it was new! 💕 The problem is I love linens, so I never know if I want to make something out of them or keep them as is. Sometimes I want doubles or triples of each one and that’s not always possible. Lol
So cute and well executed. Something I would have loved to have worn at your age. Being a chunky grandma, it’s out of the question now. Both my first and last name mean cherry, my first is Cerise and it’s French. My last name is 🍒 Cherry. Finding a cute dress at a thrift store covered with cherries was a blast. It’s a bit snug, but I have so much cherry fabric I plan to split the side seams and add panels to make it fit. Can’t wait. 😅
Omg this is the cutest thing ever!!! I just started following you, you’re too adorable and I really love your style!!! Haven’t thrifted any fabric yet, I’m kinda new but I was working on a crochet sparkly skirt while watching this, you we’re super inspirational 💖💖💖✨
such a cute set! Also I would love a tutorial on your bow headband! it's soo cute 🥰 My favorite thrift store find ( sewing related ) was this suuper cute bedsheet that was white with pastel eightes squiggles and shapes all over it! It became a lovely skirt C=
Love this video! Thank you for sharing your process! That is the CUTEST top you made! 😍 And thank you for sharing the thick hemline trick! So helpful 🥳 My best thrift store find was many yards of beautiful navy linen fabric! Such a great find! I made a Milky Way galaxy dress with it 😁
You are just the sweetest! I love all your makes and your videos. You always inspire me to go get sewing! I recently went to a fabric store sidewalk sale and got tons of neat fabric, one of which is a large photo of a daisy field printed on fabric, new dress for me soon 🥰 or maybe a two piece like this!!
Gorgeous outfit! 😍 Best find was a vintage duvet cover with different fabrics front and back. Made dresses for both of my daughters, one in each fabric! Deb xx
This is so cute!!! I just found your channel earlier and I’ve been watching your videos all day, I love seeing all of the fun designs you’ve tried and can’t wait to see more 💕
This is so good! I actually haven’t had many good fabric finds at a opp shop. Probably my favourite is a light flowy king size bed set with colourful stripes. I hope to make a nice summer dress out of it 😍

I am truly curious about what you will use for your fabric find :-)
I think my favourite find was actually the other day, I found some vintage 1970s McDonalds bedsheets. They are super colourful and totally my vibe :D Going to upcycle them into some cute shorts and maybe a tee set! :)
So cute!! With the mini ruffles, are they just overlocked finished or is there a little hem? I love finding pillow cases, as often they reflect the trend of a time, are cheap and have enough fabric for some projects!

I bought a set of king size sheets in the PERFECT red cotton for $8 US! I passed up a set of corgi sheets and have regretted it ever since. 😂
The best thrifted fabric I ever bought was a table cloth I found at a flea market, it's white and it has golden suns, moons and stars. It's so whimsical and I turned it into a gathered skirt😙

I found a bunch of blue striped suiting the last time I went thrifting with my grandma before she got sick. I'm saving it for a special project.❤

I found a nice quality wool overcoat for $20 today! it has a few holes in the pockets but nothing I can’t fix and the price was unbeatable
YAYYYYYY that's awesome

14:44 I love thisss!!!!
hehe!!
If you haven’t made nothing out of that bedsheet yet, you should recreate one of your favourite childhood dresses with it !
If you’ve got sensory issues or just hate tags, stitching an X on the back seam works too!
you are a GENIUS!!
Brilliant idea!
Carly you are absolutely amazing! You are one of my biggest inspirations at the moment and I love your content 🥰💕🥰
Aw thank you so much for watching mate!! I appreciate you!!

Wide is horizontal.
Long is vertical.
That makes it easier to remember.
love it!

I overlocked the edge & tucked it under once as a little hem! You could do a regular hem too, I was just being a bit lazy !!
👏 You are a cool person
YOU'RE COOL !!
Smashed it!
Love itttt❤

Non roll is great BUT the caveat is that it dry rots WAY faster
