Fantastic bit of film , got duke bar and Manchester Rd , love old stuff like that , life seemed much more simple then unlike now , although back then you probably struggled for different reasons, just seems better
Lots of coppers around the place. Could they be on the look-out for eligible young men dodging the war call-up! Have only ever been to Burnley about twice in my life, the last a few years ago for a couple of hours on my bus pass from Manchester, so can't say I'm familiar with the town's landmarks, but this old film from '40 must be of great interest to those who live in it or visit it often.

Blimey its as busy at today. Didn't expect that.
Population was nearly double what it is today, even after bringing Padiham into the borough
Traffic pandemonium. Not much sign of petrol rationing?
Where are all the kebab shops and nail bars?
Buen viaja,
Hmmm, no much sign of furl rationing. Good to see pedestrian crossings are marked.
Not a single dinghy diver to be seen.
