Also Quinlan living in Rome being a gladiator & then fighting in the war. The tv series only showed 1 short scene of him being a gladiator and only mentioned him going to war.
I agree....they ended it too soon and did some weird choices with the show but it had great potential. The end of the third season is where it fell off but those first three seasons were so entertaining.
Actually, he didn't get his own TV show because the actor, Rupert Penri-Jones, found the heavy prosthetics needed to look the part were very uncomfortable and he personally does not want to play any role requiring such heavy makeup and prosthetics again.
@@stefandjordjevic8898 To be fair, they are functionally very different characters. Apart from the fact that they’re both vampire hunters who were born as half-vampires after their pregnant mothers were infected, they really don’t have a lot in common.
I think I know why Quinlan is so apathetic to the ancients because for the most part the ancients don't do anything. Unlike the master who is active he's constantly moving constantly on the run constantly sowing chaos. But the anxious on the other hand they're just content with just eating and that's it. They want to be whole they used to be one being until they were torn asunder. And the ancients just enjoy each other's company and eating blood and having a few servants that will provide them with what they need. They're not out to rule the world at least that's what I've gained from the ancients on my perspective. Are the ancients bad people yes they are they will mess you up. They will backstab you if they can but you know the ancients are. Just doing their own thing they just want to be in each other's company. all used to be one person and they offered an extended. That same invitation to their long lost little brother the master but the master rejected their offer. And is actively shaking up the world and it started a whole rivalry between them. Are there good points to the ancients well when they feed they don't turn other people into vampires they just simply make sure to kill them. Take their blood and that's it are there selective about who they eat no. They're still evil but not as a huge threat I want to say then the master is. When dealing with the ancients you know what you're getting into when dealing with the master you don't know what you're getting into.
I really enjoyed this series. It's a shame that more people didn't watch it, because I believe we could have gotten another season or two to flesh out all the characters. Quinlan and Vaun were my favorite characters. I wish we could have gotten more out of their storylines. More history. Same goes for the history between Setrakian and Eichorst. Fet was also great. Lmao. It's so hard to choose a "favorite" when you like a series.
Aware of the Master’s location: Quinlan can only sense the Master when he’s injured or weak. In the beginning of story, the only reason why Quinlan knew where the Master was, was due to Setrakian almost killing him (when he sort of “flew” out the window & down the building. The sun hurt him but didn’t kill him due to his big cloak he wore.
Vaun retains his nose because in the first episodes he was introduced in, his actor went uncredited, the character unnamed because the actor was around 50+ years old, and they were testing how well he could cope with the martial role. In the end, he was unable to perform and chose not to be Quinlan as was intended, so they made up the character of Vaun to explain away the changes instead of just mysteriously changing Quin's appearance when actor swapping. There also won't ever be any more Quinlan spin-off's because Rupert Penri-Jones had never done prosthetics before, and found through the role of Quinlan that he just couldn't cope with it, and vowed never to take a role that required heavy prosthetics again.
If i would think of explaination in the "lore" U could say that he is one of the born, I mean u know the chromoson stuff So some traits gets passed on, some dont, or getting mixed up, guess u know what i am refering 2
@@Lloyd_Vegas That's..... not how they work though. The born are created from *already developed* human fetuses, they are literally infected in the womb via the mother's infected blood passing through to the child, but the worm being unable to. The only way chromosomes would have anything to do with it, would be if the child was *already* going to be born with something like aspergers or look a certain way *prior* to the infection. The Born are the Strain's explination behind the obsession in folklore vampires have for virgin victims.
I actually disagree with him shutting down completely He became fond of Charlotte, and convinced Fet to leave her behind so she wouldn't die in NYC.. Of course we don't know what happened to her after she sniped Ichordt
There's also some suspected fondness for the main char, I forget his name, Zach's dad. He's the only one that actually looked after Quin after he got shot up, and despite the fact the Dhampir had no peen and was unconscious, he not only laid a cloth over his middle to offer some token modesty, but while he sat there removing the bullets, he talked to Quin as if he was conscious, perhaps worried the Dhampir was indeed conscious but simply unresponsive like many coma patients. When enough of the silver had been removed and he came to, Quin did seem to be quite thankful.
T.V. has become so expensive many have turned off cable etc, some have gone back to rabbit ears any channels for free. Using this approach also limits channels
It's a minor thing but you say Quinlan is over 2,000 years old but he was born after 40AD so he would actually be a bit less than 2,000 years old. Also, you state the Master was "only a few centuries old" at that time but your previous post, about the Master specifically, you mentioned he was over 5,000 years old. Obviously that means he was over 3,000 years old at the time of Caligula. Maybe you meant "a few millenia" old?
I don’t know who you mean by the “other dude”- the Master is an alien. It’s not known whether Quinlan has the necessary parts to have kids, as Strigoi do not, but he’s not a Strigoi, but a dhampir). Plus, when his “father” dies, he dies. The reason why the Master calls Quinlan his “son” is because he bit a pregnant female but didn’t kill her, so his dna got mixed with Quinlan, who began as fully human, so he’s biologically made of 3 people, with his dna being changed after he was already formed in his mom’s womb.
For GOD so loved the World that he gave his only begotten son that whoever belives in him shall Not perish but have everlasting life Amen and CHRIST is GOD ☦️ GOD Bless brother
Quinlan was everyone's favorite.
Exploring the history of a young Master living in early imperial Rome would be an amazing tv show spinoff
Also Quinlan living in Rome being a gladiator & then fighting in the war. The tv series only showed 1 short scene of him being a gladiator and only mentioned him going to war.
Yep I would settle for anything at this point about the strain but a story about the master in ancient Rome would be freaken amazing
I loved Quinlan too. The Strain wasn't given a enough of a chance for a show to survive
I agree....they ended it too soon and did some weird choices with the show but it had great potential. The end of the third season is where it fell off but those first three seasons were so entertaining.
You know Hollywood sucks when this bad ass didn't get his own TV show. ❤❤❤
Actually, he didn't get his own TV show because the actor, Rupert Penri-Jones, found the heavy prosthetics needed to look the part were very uncomfortable and he personally does not want to play any role requiring such heavy makeup and prosthetics again.
He did got the show. Its called Blade...
This is just a copycat..

I stayed watching season 3&4 solely because of Quinlan.
Same here

Quinlans is the most interesting story in the series

Fet irritated me both in the series and the books, what a whiny self-absorbed creep he was
I enjoyed the series and wanted more invested in the show as well.
Nah!?! Zack had to go because he was a true villain and he was disobedient.
I hope they make a new version of this, it was a great concept.
Quinlan should team up with Blade
and Rayne we need more Anti hero dampyrs
Hell yeah :)
I love this show and Quinlan but this man is like blade and I love it also
My favourite character is FETT. FET ..❤😂..LOL Funny guy..big bear..cuddly and super intelligent
Omfg you have a vampire channel too?! IM LOVING THIS. and quinlan is bae❤️
What other channel/ channels does he have? More lore stuff? What are the names if so?
My favourite character too 👍
My favorite character ❤😊 A spin off would have been amazing 👏🏼
Swee heard ur voice from ur harry potter channel! Kick ass ! Didnt' expect it when I typed in the born into the youtube serach! Love ur content !
I'm my opinion he was the best part of the series and I was pissed off when he was killed off

Agreed
New subscriber here for sure! 1st episode viewed --> well done. I'll be sticking around, no doubt 🐾
Thank you very much for the support.
This channel just got my subscription.
Me too xx

OK thanks, but that's a shame because Vaun is just the est character of the serie and with just le scene, he just killed it.

Not hating the other ancients, I think its because they've done him no wrong before. Am I right or wrong?
Quinlan was loyal to the very end and he died fighting, true warrior.
Vaughn has to be a sentient strigoi as the UV lights killed him as you pointed out
Vaun is a Sun Hunter but is not shielded from the sun like the other Sun Hunters.
He keeps company with the ancients because they have a common goal to kill The Master, do they not?
He was my favorite😎
Excellent video! Please do one for the vampires of The Witcher.
Quinlan deserved a better death than what he got. So did Vaughn. Still love the show though.
Quinlan was badass.
Quinlan went out bad, definitely had me like wtf for like a week 💀.....
I always believed those other daywalkers were like him, but not as old.
I want to watch The Strain now
you have to watch it..it's unbelieveable.
So he is white Blade
I actually disagree with him shutting down completely
He became fond of Charlotte, and convinced Fet to leave her behind so she wouldn't die in NYC.. Of course we don't know what happened to her after she sniped Ichordt

Essential a Blade variant

Why is this like word for word what the strain wiki says?
Can the born have children? If so the other dude could be 2/3rds...?

There is a possibility of another season because of the another ancient in the pytamid
Van and Quinlan were good
For GOD so loved the World that he gave his only begotten son that whoever belives in him shall Not perish but have everlasting life Amen and CHRIST is GOD ☦️ GOD Bless brother
This series is interesting n no one can understand that 🤍
