    Ironically enough, the same can be said about Tufts dental (TUSDM). From the class size, to the faculty, to the cost of attendance. The student body can be pretty cut throat as well, which is pretty disturbing when you really think about it lol- future doctors smh. Dental school breeds toxicity, but unfortunately that’s life. My advice: stay focused, get your degree, move on with your life and get your money! 500k+ in student loans is no joke, so STAY ON TOP OF IT, the principle will balloon like crazy if you dont! Thanks for keeping it💯 doc, most dental school graduates don’t have the guts to post this type of content.

      this really resonates with me. i think it’s not just tufts and nyu, but a majority of schools around the country. its not fair to students who are simply pursuing their passions and have devoted their lives to helping others. i’ll post whatever content i feel is authentic to help spread awareness so others can be as informed as possible, thanks so much for your insight

    Inflation significantly impacts NYUCD, leading to a shortage of clinical faculty members. Considering the high cost of living in NYC, dental professors often receive considerably lower pay compared to their counterparts in the market and fellow professionals.

    • @DoctorRanaDDS
      @DoctorRanaDDS  9 месяцев назад +4

      i understand that wholeheartedly, however at the price of $100,000 per student per class per year. 100k x 380 students x 4 classes (d1-d4) is $150,000,000. There should be room in the budget to have more instructors to better prepare the next generation of dental professionals.

    $500k isn’t getting paid back doing PPO MODs all day for 30 years. Dental school isn’t worth it anymore. I left dental school with $255k in 2007 and I’m still paying it back.

    • @DoctorRanaDDS
      @DoctorRanaDDS  9 месяцев назад +1

      excellent insight. appreciate the comment. i think you are correct in that you cannot just be an average dentist doing bread and butter dentistry to make the degree worth it. however if you are willing to take more risks the opportunity is there for anybody. i made approx 300k in my first year out of school. (video drops in january). i had to go rural for it and get really good at surgery. if you can niche down and go where there is demand it CAN be worth it. but i agree with you, if you are not hungry to be better than average, not constantly taking CE, and willing to move, life can be very difficult as a dentist these days. making the minimum payment however does help you stack up some money for a practice to where the earning potential is limitless

      @@DoctorRanaDDS I'm more inclined to encourage the dentist to remove themselves from the unfair and oppressive PPO contracts that steal from patient care and from the dentist. It's getting harder and harder to accept unreasonably low fees and the only way to make up the loss is to cut corners and speed through with high volume, which is also not good for patient care. Fee for service gives the dentist freedom to invest in other procedures and not have to rush through the every day bread and butter to barely keep their head above water. Much of the time these insurance companies are randomly denying everything, so there's no coverage in the first place.It's a shell game.

      @@danalleman8155 dental insurance is a scam undeniably. it services a great part of the population but creates a 3rd party monopoly in charge of pricing so I couldn't agree more doc. I am pivoting to FFS cosmetic work slowly for 2024. Have you been successful in transitioning to FFS?
