That "We" vs "I" comment is golden. Thank you for pointing that out. As much as Lebron tries to control the narrative consciously, these are the subconscious signs that you just CANNOT hide and the data has only been accumulating over the years. In my mind, Dirk will always be better than Lebron. He fought valiantly and lost to D-Wade and Shaq, but kept grinding, getting better and better, improving his signature one-foot shot and always hitting clutch free throws and 3s. His win against the Miami Heat Super Team in 2011 was not only the pinnacle of his illustrious career, but also the mark of Lebron's downfall in the eyes of true basketball fans everywhere. Dwyane Wade was a 6x All-star, NBA Finals MVP, 2009 scoring champion, and 6 playoff appearances before the Big III. That "We" vs "I" comment is golden. Thank you for pointing that out. As much as Lebron tries to control the narrative consciously, these are the subconscious signs that you just CANNOT hide and the data has only been accumulating over the years. There'll be tons of other clips where he's self-glazing when "he" wins and critiquing the "team" when they lose. Lebron's pretty good at hiding, using subtle jabs and passive aggressive comments or propping himself up while complimenting other players. You can only hide these narcissistic tendencies so much - the subconscious will always reveal itself and we, the "true" fans of basketball who appreciate the purity of the sport, will see through the smoke and mirrors.
