Amazing job . I have an atlas 618 with no half nut or Carriage advance and rack and have a broken 16/32 gear combo so now I now I have a big challenge ahead of me . I will be modifying the apron and making gears and half nuts and hope I can come close to the job you have done !!
Could you make me a half nut and bracket for the 618? I have two sets of half nuts and both are worn out. The half nuts are unobtainium and I have zero skills millimg and machining. I would, of course, pay you for the parts.
I don't remember for certain. I think that I probably set my grinding guide to grind the hss blank at a 29 degree angle, and then ground it close to a point. Then ground it back square until it fit snugly in between the threads on my 16tpi lead screw.

Nicely done. I look forward to watching you remove the change gears from that plate stock.
Hoping do that to my Boxford model A which has worn out half nuts and cannot buy knew ones
I printed change gears for my 109 witch will also fit my 618.
I have a feeling you are cleverer than you let on !!!
Nice job sir!!!
i watched the 2 films , looks very time consuming but very fulfilling
Thanks.
Good video gracias
Nice Job! Better than he original for sure 👍😁👍.
Great shtuff...right now, these parts are $85 on Eqay. Eliminate snakes & crooks who will price gouge the ones who are ripe for the taking.

How were you able to gauge your 16 tpi acme cutting tool?
My little acme "fishtail" gauge ends with 10 tpi.
Thanks!
