    I wish I had a shop like you man.

    Thanks for explanation! I knew one thing or another, but not everything.
    That’s my dream guitar (any double pickups black custom, not necessarily a reissue) and thank God, I could get one, a 2009 custom shop.
    It’s been 2 years and I’m still fascinated by this guitar, the look and the sound.

    Which guitar is he playing in the outro, USA LP Custom or the Custom Shop '57?

    • @reverb508
      @reverb508 10 месяцев назад +1

      That's the 57. The biggest giveaway is that volume and tone knobs. The regular Customs have speed knobs and the 57's have black bell knobs.

      @@reverb508Thanks reverb508, I see that now that you've pointed it out.
      I really hope to someday own an all mahogany Les Paul (preferably the R4 with the P90/Staple pickups).

      @@reverb508 Agreed, I have a '54 style Goldtop with P90s that I love, however I've always wanted to try one of those AlNiCo 5 Staple pickups.

    SO the regular Les Paul Custom is "Made in USA" which means that it is NOT a custom shop guitar? Or..?

    There was no Custom Shop in 1997

      @@the-creech4790 The custom shop was started in 1986 and the historic division was started in 1993.

      I could be wrong but I purchased a 97 3 pu Custom black beauty in 97. no certificate. I asked the Les Paul forum and was told my guitar was a historic not a custom shop hence no certificate or custom marked case. Not marked in any way an R7. Have I been given false info?

    The original and most of the modern 57 Custom reissue, arent using a glued top at all. The entire body is a single piece of solid mahogany. Same with the 55/55/56. A 57 Custom is extacly as a 55 constructionwise, just with Humbuckers.

    • @veithkilbert4253
      @veithkilbert4253 Год назад

      These older 57 reissues don't have solid body mahogany? They have glued top? I was looking at early 2000s one.

    • @themanwhowasntthere6311
      @themanwhowasntthere6311 Год назад +1

      @@veithkilbert4253 I have a 2009 and is a single piece of mahogany, no cap/top. Cant say for sure on the early 2000, but if you could get a picture of the control cavity, you can check if the hole that routes the pickup/switch wires, has a round profile or it's squarish. A single block of mahogany needs that hole to be drilled from the outside, thru the jack hole. A topped body has the route done via CNC (and it's perfectly squared), before the top is being glued. Rounded hole = no top, single block of mahogany. Squared hole = topped body.

    57 classics pickups have no bite whatsoever. Palm muting turns to mud.

    This video is misleading because if you look clearly only one guitar was used... So it's not a comparison video... Absolutely pointless video
