Did the guy survive the cannonball hit?
Tis but a scratch
Walk it off
Definitely would've survived it! Otherwise, he wouldn't donated to the museum!
Nah, he no longer had the heart for it.
I love the fact the first one went right over his head. 😂
0:27 The joke here is that the students feels like he should put in the joke "n-words in Paris".
About the story of Oscar the cat, he was found after the Bismarck sank. He was taken aboard the British destroyer HMS Cossack where he stayed until the ship was torpedoed by a U-boat. Oscar was again rescue and was adopted by another ship the aircraft carrier HMS Ark Royal. Not too long however the carrier was hit by another U-boat.
At this point, the sailors decided that Oscar should retire at the seaman's home in Belfast which he lived for the rest of his days passing away in 1955.
Love it to be true, but there is some doubt concerning whether it's the same cat, or a bit of yarn telling involved too.
Doesn't mean it's definitely not true of course though!
That cat was a harbinger of Doom not the bringer. He was just letting all these boats know that they were screwed
They still had party lines when I was growing up. Always has to worry about someone listening in or just interrupting.
It was easy to work out a basic system. I used colors.
Was about to say this. Still before my time, but my parents have talked about dealing with this.
From now on a STRENGTH/INT build in a game will be called "THE PLATO"
I wish i had a teacher like you when i was in school. I bet you make history fun for your students.
That fact about Plato being buff reminds me of Confucious. It's become a meme in China. Recently, it was rediscovered(?) that Confucious was very tall and likely very buff, in contrast to his image as an elderly teacher. Combining that with the fact that he lived during the Warring States Era (~400BC), and an image of him beating the stuffing out of bandits and intimidating VIPs suddenly comes to mind...
9:31 Takes "day-old pizza" to a whole new level
OMG Mr. Beat is our Plato! Think about it, he is a teacher, he is pretty smart, some people don't like him because of his beliefs, and he is jacked!
This guy always has great memes, but I REALLY wish he would keep them on the screen longer so I can actually register them

1:30 This reminds me of a chemistry teacher who said that "Chemistry is the study of everything at the level of molecules and atoms."
6:55 if the Fat Electrician made a video off the cat it’d be titled: The Most Gangster Cat Ever
I've literally just discovered your channel as your reaction to the DH98 Mosquito video by Fat Electrician popped up in my feed. I would recommend if you haven't already reacted to it, Jeremy Clarkson's documentary on The Victoria Cross, and his other one on The Greatest Raid of All Time.
5:35 I thought it was a medicine shelf at first, but that still works
theres more to the caesar story. after being kidnapped he befriended and joked with his captors, laughing along with them when he said "when you guys let me go im coming back here with some troops to kill you all" and the HE DID
Yes! We used to have an awesome public transportation system in the USA, but it was cutting into automobile sales.
2:40 Well, it's accurate as to what American history books would look like in that case
The first meme is a reference to kanye wests song "n*ggas in paris"
HE WAS SO INNOCENT 😭😭😭
There are ever so many.
Yea people always ask on the internet "who was in paris" because on youtube etc. you can get suspended or banned for those words :D
7:58 is it bad that i recognize that table of contents at a glance?
It's the wikipedia page for the Pig War.
Nah, it's an advantage
"Rock, paper, scissors" was originally "Rock, fire, leaf"
Excellent, you'd make a great Monarch by the looks.
I'm hoping what's meant by the big European history book compared to the other is about recorded history. A bit like the recorded battles of the world map looks very Eurocentric too.
The Jester was an interesting addition to a court. The only one who could insult the Lord and get away with it, most of the time! They could say what others wanted to say about their Lord, but couldn't.
It's a lesser known fact that we were the first to actually reach the moon way back in 1908.
We left due to cricket being impossible because of the weaker gravity, water boiling at a ridiculously low temperature making tea undrinkable, and the Sea of Tranquillity being less than suitable for Dreadnoughts than was first hoped.
(We also found out that the moon is made of French cheese, to everyone's horror. MI6 suppressed the story).
Chubby electron man has done a story on the cat 😅
I can ride a tram like that picture, a park has a vintage one that runs. well they are extending the line to the new train line so tourists can visit the park wanna see a kangaroo too 😂
Today I learned that Nintendo was a card company.
Then I learned they still sell cards! :D
7:33 Is that Gun Jesus in a Roman helmet?
Hello Mr. Terry. The algorithm stopped recommending you. I was like "whatever happened to Mr, Terry?" and after searching the algorithm picked you up again 😂 RUclips can't just show me videos of channels I subscribe to.
8:39 this reminds me of a "What's something they never get right in a Zombie Apocalypse?" One poster was like, women are going to lose all their rights because they believed these ideas were a modern invention. I kindly pointed out the Iroquois Confederation, and the city-state of Sparta as examples of societies in which women played a vital role outside of homemaking. The Iroquois women held a lot of political power like the ability to impeach a chief and Spartan women had been trained to defend the city while the men were at War.
Previously on uh everything should be on your door to the classroom
12:46 it took them over 200 years to do it. Talk about a slow starter. You can't argue with the results though.
The innocent answer on the first one lol
8:44 they need them to pull their weight
Thanks for being a teacher by the way.
I’ve never seen a trolley pass and people not be happy to see it
That might be your nicest hat, yet, Mr Terry.
Before the pig? Use it in Attack on titan history perhaps 😊
I really hate how much of history is lived experience by me and people I know. I grew up with stories about my great grandmother listening in on my aunt's boyfriend calling her over the party line system.
I feel kids should have a "near-current events" class for everything that happened in their parents lifetime so we don't feel bad when they ask us about it.
You need to wear that getup when you go on the unsubscribe podcast 😎
3:30 thats true. Farming culture made humans weaker, smaller and probably dumber. There are also signs of selfdomestication in humans. A lot of deseases are also based on the "modern" lifestile.
Americans copy American city names too. I’m looking right across the river at Portland Oregon.
Hey now, don't be dissing Paris TX...they got a mini eiffel tower with a red cowboy hat on top
Day 1 of asking Mr. Terry to react to Heneral Luna and the Philippine American War.
You cant say something is eurocentric when you're american :D
What's happening with the view/like rate?
40% of Americans believe that people and dinosaurs lived at the same time? (birds dont count in this context) but that would explain why around 40% of the yanks voted for a certain orange man
This is just Europe history memes
Did he say WORLD history memes?
Let's face it: For most of Europes history, US history didn't exist.
There are houses people live in in the UK that are older than the US as a country.
