ఘంటసాల గారి జననం 1922 మరణించినది 1974. అంటే జీవించినది 52 సంవత్సరాలు మాత్రమే. కానీ ఆయన మిగిల్చివెళ్లిన గాత్రానికి మరణం లేని వరం ప్రసాధించినాడు దేవదేవుడు. భగవత్గీత లోని శ్లోకాలు చివరిగా పాడినది. ఆ శ్రీకృష భగవానుడే పాడించి తనలోకి ఐక్యం చేసుకున్నాడు. అందుకే ఆయన ఎప్పుడూ చిరంజీవులు తెలుగువారి మదిలో.
ఘంటసాల గారు మరణించి 50 ఏండ్లు గడచినవి. అయినా ఆడియో రికార్డు ఉన్నంతవరకు ఆయన చిరంజీవులు. ఆయన మృతదేహం మాత్రమే వెళ్ళిపోయినది. తెలుగు బాష ఉన్నంతవరకు ఆయనకు గాత్రానికి మరణం లేదు.
