This is my favorite ambient guitar track that I keep coming back to.
@JackOrion0670 Hey Jack. You are right, these guitar parts are extremely simple. And I am indeed using a lot of effects. I'd consider them an instrument as well, as this song wouldn't exist without either. Does that make this less of a song? Does that somehow denote this as "not music"? I don't think so. Creating simple, slow music like this quite a lot harder than I ever thought it would be. Creating something so simple yet pleasing is the most challenging and rewarding aspect of this to me.
i've never seen someone use a wrench to play guitar before, very innovative
Damn didn't know Andy has been doing this for so long... Og!!
Kinda look like a city :)
Guys, an electric guitar is no more of an instrument then a "pedal" or an "amp" - compared to classic instruments. You choose an instrument that inspires you and let it lead you through the sea of tones no matter what someone else thinks about it. We live in the 21st century!
Imagine "voodoo child" without a wah or
Hendrix without a Fuzz or
U2 without delay ;)
Long live new styles and technologies (and the old ones!) if used right,
and greetings to Andrew - you rock dude, keep it up! ;)
This is absolutely breathtaking.
I've never seen anyone make every other instrument inadequate. keep doing what you're doing, for all of us!
" slow music like this quite a lot harder than I ever thought it would be"
Oh my god yes. As a percussionist and electronic musician, it is infinitely harder for me to keep a rhythm if it's a slow one. This song is fantastic.
this is by far and away my favourite thing you've done so far and by far one of the best things I've heard in a long time.
You should tour with explosions in the sky. You guys would gel well together! Nice work!
I'm so glad an episode of the office talked about sound scaping so i can see this.. this is sooo beautiful..
Coming back to this is so necessary.
Awesome, kinda reminds me of the music in the queue for Space Mountain at Disney World.
oh my god dude when the wrench is used that's amazing.
Now I'm happy with RUclips having a subscribe button.
all of these ambient tunes are so good
at this moment # 11 is my fav.
Toe-gaze...
great stuff. much appreciated
This is still my favorite one. The new Walrus Audio Sloer pedal demo had a part that sounded like this song.
Ok, listened with headphones and I might as well be floating up to heaven. The stereo spread is so beautiful. Amazingly intense at times.
my favorite song of yours Andy
Alltså...vi sitter typ här och mår så jävla dåligt. Så tittar vi på detta klippet. Låt oss säga att du var våran räddning denna kväll.
Fan vad bra. Tack!
Casper och Joar

Amazing as always!

I could Keep hours listening your music........excelent!.
You Seriously write the most amazing soul searching
deep thinking music. I am a Huge fan of your Ambient music you write, and it really is amazing. Keep it up man!! thank you
you dont need to pull of hard riffs to make a good song. its about the feeling/the atmosphere you create.and he indeed knows how to handle this stuff.
Oh man, I think my head just sploded.
beautiful work
@Terrenitup01 well thank you for listening, glad you are enjoying the music! i'm actually using the boomerang III looper and I have it in "stack" mode, so it just keeps layering and I don't have to keep pressing buttons. it's really a cool pedal, i just posted some demos of it.
can really escape reality with this..
Huge love for all your music man, keep it up!
this is amazing man nice tone
delicious ambient goodness here!
Dude..just ammaizing..no words for this...u r jst doing gr8.... u r taking this to a higher level... best of luck....nd let alone techniques ..ur composing is jst wow....
Really great! One of my favorites thus far. Thanks for your great music.

dude, youre music is amazing!
Wow, such beauty
this is the best thing ever.
it is awesome and inspiring that people like you still exist around the world. Excellent relaxing music brother... nice work
Your music helps me write my books. Inspired me to try out ambient music which I have on my music channel as well. I like the calm, yet powerful notes that are played. The swelling and stop. This push and pull becomes a pulse to the heart of my imagination. Thanks bro.
Well done Andy
@GoodSaintsman For this I just used a pair of SM57s. Other than that I have an Audix i5, Nady RSM-5, Shure SM81, and Rode NT1000
@ConXiFle I was just about to say that! Amazing songs, both Music For a Nurse and this.
Explosions in the Sky is proud.
Very nice, I loved that.
@ConXiFle I love that song so much.
@snakespence
Yeah. I totally agree. It's so well polished. Plus being played live adds to the effect.
Amazing!
beautiful
Amazing , love this one!
I am jeffrey from indonesia... i realy realy love ambient song... you are my favorite guitarist today. Keep creative andy. Cool..
Now I'm happy to have a subscribe button on RUclips.
Wow! Amazing.
that spanner sounds great - I'll have to try that for sure!
@omo3tetia4 Here I'm using it as an overdrive/boost. I find using the wrench gives a quieter signal, so I needed to boost it a bit.
@iunnodiapeys please read the description
Just amazing...!!!
@flownomis I don't need a switcher because I want both amps to be on all the time. My stereo pedals do the splitting for me. And I have a ground lift adapter on the AC30 to prevent ground loop hum.
The Timefactor splits my signal into a stereo signal, which then goes through the RV-5, blueSky, and finally the Boomerang.
Really nice dude.
That makes me feel better :**
That was beautiful.. thank you for this!
My favourite so far! Exellent ambiance! :-D
Wonderful playing! In one moment i felt it! thanks for a lot of this ;)
@Olithar No, I use a Flip Ultra HD to get the video. Audio is recorded via Logic on my MacBook Pro.
Exelent use of a wrench :D
@MrJuju909 thank you!
@KristineLivingston Ha thanks! The carbon copy is just a subtle underneath delay, the Empress is on a longer tape setting, and the Timefactor is on another tape setting, but gives me the stereo delay.
And yeah, I have gotten rid of things I'm not using. I didn't bond with the Freeze, and I rarely used the Whetstone. I will probably get rid of the Mastotron too.
Really nice!
You rock
@tubescreamer - I've been playing for years and can genuinely say you have inspired me in a way very few guitarists have. Keep up the good work, ignore the 'haters' and keep doing what you are doing as it really is inspiring, technical and most definitely MUSIC!
outstanding. sigur ros style!
4:12... uffff...gave me chills!!!!!
It's been a while since the last song (Or maybe not ;)), and i think you've given some thought into this song... damn... gives me too many flashbacks :/, i wish i could listen to this music without them :), but i guess that's why i like it; 'cos it brings back memories.
Again, awsome.
just beautifull my friend.respect!
That was Awesome!!!!
fuck eBow...i use a wrench. Probably the most inspiring guitar videos on RUclips.
Excellent!! and thanks for posting. Also thanks for sharing your other vids about your set up etc...keep it up.
I am new to making music but love the ambient /post rock style. Your vids along with some others are inspiring me to take the plunge.
Lastly....ignore the hater trolls.
@Olithar i put the video and audio in iMovie and just do it by hand... it's tedious but it works.
@The1970sInfatuate They are plugged into the courtesy outlet on one of my Voodoo Labs power supplies (they are mounted under the board)
Great work :)
lovely
This reminds me of Music For a Nurse by Oceansize. Nice work. Really impressed with your stuff. Keep it up.
Great job man. everyone should buy this video
@JackOrion0670 True, but music doesn't need to be complicated to sound fantastic like this does! This simple progression says so much more than most guitar giberish you hear on the net these days
Honestly I think it's a combination of having a high quality power supply, good cables, and good pedals. I just try to make sure there is no weak link within those three things.
i hate this whole idea that if your using pedals people say your money is playing for you but like ya said , its just like any instrument and is an art to make them work and create something so amazing like this haha.good shit
love it
@KBinning Just stereo delay and reverb pedals.
Relaxing
I used to do the same with my slide, but this method seeems better :P beautiful music btw
things are down to how you control them and whether you are controlling them and not the other way around. its all extensions of whats coming out of our heads. you've got to have it inside your head to be able to get it out at all anyway. The equipment isn't actually thinking of what to do any of the time. It couldn't control itself. -david gilmour live at pompeii
very nice man
@TehLithelShrimper thanks! and yes, it is an 08 american standard
@OhSoShifty thank you!
It's a creative use of pedals (and a wrench), I don't personally dig it but you've gotta be quite skilled to be able to cope with a board that big lol
@tubescreamer don't mind the haters, I personally think this is awesome!
@ejyuhas i'm using two voodoo labs... and thanks!
@theodorewilhelm Why would they? I did end up taking them off just because it got annoying trying to rewire stuff underneath.
