    Tulips are beautiful and the learning experience is invaluable in terms both of future sales and personal gratification. Well done.

    This was great. I’m diving into this because the potential for ROI is so high and no one locally has these available

      That’s awesome! I agree - there’s tons of potential with them!

    Yes, I’m in a similar situation where a crate of 500 per variety is more than I can handle so I would be interested in your resale.

    Wow those are so pretty! Looks like you have an early crop for sure! Also the timing for them seemed to be good for Valentines day. I'm just hoping the ones I planted in the ground come up! Tulips are new for me. I'm also thinking I need to find a small business outlet for my flowers. Funny about the color being wrong...maybe they substituted? They are gorgeous anyway!

      Thank you! If you get enough cold and don’t have critter issues, I bet your outside tulips will be gorgeous! I wondered that about the colors as well. Or maybe the nutrient levels in the water impacted color - something to research!

    Thank you for sharing this info. This is my first year with tulips and I'm trying to figure out chill time- I have seen recommended ranges from 8 weeks to 16 weeks. In your experience so far, do different varieties really have much of a different requirement or is there an average chill time in general?

    • @wildbirdfarm
      @wildbirdfarm  Год назад +1

      Most I’ve grown need 12-16 weeks. Ballseed. com has a list of varieties of tulips and their exact needs!

    Have you checked out color blends for bulbs?

      I will check them out again. I thought they were more retail priced but I will look again now that I know more the quantity I’ll need. Thanks!

    I order mine through Leo Berbee and they sell per 100 and sell pre-chilled as well!

    • @wildbirdfarm
      @wildbirdfarm  Год назад

      That’s where these came from too! I’m wondering if they will ship bulbs out in intervals so I don’t have to try to keep bulbs properly chilled.

      @tinalee7650 Год назад +1

      Good question but I wouldn't want to pay shipping each time @@wildbirdfarm I'm going to try to get them to hold all my tulip bulbs till Nov 15th next year - I got them in mid-Oct and chilled them till I planted them Dec 16th and they are already coming up and about to push out buds - way too soon for my liking - I don't want to start selling till Easter weekend!

      @wildbirdfarm  Год назад +1

      @tinalee7650 yes, shipping cost is a concern. I know that’s what a lot of the big growers do but for me as a small grower, shipping costs might make it not feasible.
