Oh dear... I opened my mouth on the internet... Well Good news! I have some videos coming at the end of December that has my long hair. And Star Trek props. :)
Odin, you have been on RUclips making props for years. I would like to know is there anything YOU would like to remake as your skills have improved or that you think you could make better?
Damn, so THAT'S why I failed with expanding foam in my own melt stick's orb! And I love the use of a table leg for the tapered end, would never have thought to do that! While I'm super happy with how my own melt stick came out, if I need to remake or do any repairs on it, I'll for sure use some of the techniques you used in yours.
Pretty freaking awesome. I love your ingenuity. Thank you for sharing with us! And yes, I would like to see a pic of you with long hair. That would be awesome.
@@maddi5920 that is cool. But some people just geek out over different things. It's kind of like how some people want to collect all the variant covers of the comic book they collect. Or how a person collects an item in all its colors, like you cars or if they're rich real cars.
@Matti Lüdke and @jackstrange I have looked at the quantum helmets, and thought about it. They have shorter snouts and larger eyepieces, so you can see the actors better. That's the main thing I remember. I am not against doing it, but I just did two Marvel videos, it may be a bit... But I still need more Marvel stuff to do until the next movie!
You did amazing job on the build. A good way to make it lighter is by customizing or making 3D and printing inside threaded tips like the ones for paint rollers, brooms, etc. I got the idea from watching Bob’s I Like To Make Stuff when he made the Billy Club from Daredevil.
I used the threaded tips from paint rollers in my rocket propelled super sledge hammer from Fallout. Metal tip into plastic receiver totally works, and works well. Something I missed saying in the video was that the table leg has the screw on it from the factory. That led me down the wood insert nut path...
Odin Makes threaded tips truly are absolutely amazing and very useful because if someone to use the ones that make pipe one solid piece but they look like bolts or any details on them they can sand them down to look like one solid piece. I’m sorry you forgot to mention it but I understand why use the table leg because the if you really wanted to make it all pvc you’d have needed to order the tapered pvc pipe or buy solid pvc rod and use lathe to taper it (which is a lot of work).
I know you make a lot of current props, Odin, but what about some retro props? Like the ray gins and laser rifle from Lost in Space. Or Kirk's phaser rifle from the original Trek. Would LOVE to see some of those and more!
I was blown away by the build, and more because when you said "Freeman's HEV suit", all the lines from the suit's system popped in my head hahaha I still don't know why I have memorized that, but it's okay I guess Amazing job as aways!!
3:25 Odin: "The metal guide post I'm using here is actually a 3inch drywall screw that didn't get the screw threads put on it" Me: "So..Basically a nail.." lol
Depends on the project. A couple of days usually. Some steps don't happen until I am handling the pieces and seeing what they may need. But typically I think a lot about what it needs to look like at the end, and how to make the shapes to get there. Lots of mental planning in traffic or the shower. Also they way I approach it can depend on the time I have to complete it. I don't work ahead much. I am trying to now- but normally a video's build is started just the week before. Craziest thing to admit: I almost never build a prototype. What you see in the video is almost always the first time I have made it!
Phenomenal work as always Odin! Thank you for sharing your great prop making skills with us yet again! :-D If you don't mind me asking, but please could you consider making the Judgement Wheel from Dragonfable; it combines a ornate Warhammer and a Scythe into one weapon; I would love to see how you would make it! :-)
3:37 AHH a spinning death top.. But seriously those bits are terrifying for a number of reasons Odin, I got one that HAD two cutting heads on it.. turned the drill on and went to lower the head.. it threw one of the cutters.. and never did find it, Good thing my aunt or me wasn't hit.. .. but always check the screw several times..
an easy way to determine how much of the foam mixture you need it to fill the ornament completely with water, pour it out and measure it. i'm sure the expanding foam has a ratio of how much it expands.
You are correct with what you are saying. However my experiences have shown me to not trust the label 100% "They are more like guidelines" Foam expansion is effected by 2 things: Temperature and moisture! The yield was smaller because it was cooler in the shop, but if the ball was wet or even overly moist inside, the foam could over react, and not foam uniformly. You are correct in thinking that "if the foam says it expands 30 times, then 1 volume of mix will get me 30 volumes of foam... in my experience it has always been less... because of so many variables- not perfect A to B ratio, ambient temperature, foam mix temperatures, non perfect mixing, not getting 100% of the mix out of the mixing container, scraping the mix container sides too much while pouring, and actually popping some of the foam bubbles on their way out of the mix cup... After spending more than enough time in the past trying to be correct with all that.. at this point, most of us just make an educated guess, and say "this should do it." And prepare the area with extra paper and stuff. If I was casting many of them, you bet I would take notes on most of that, and manage my resources. It is a bad idea to just throw away the material. Only making one? "Eh, good enough!" :)
That's why he put that wood dowel in it and cut it down. I forgot about the dowel at first because the dowel and foam are the same color, but then I remembered.
You are right @OptimusWii- If it was just in foam, it would totally tear out by the end of the first day! I should have been clearer in my storytelling.
Awesome build as always! Just curious about something though: wouldn’t making the rings at the top of the melt stick have been easier if you just made them out of floor mat foam? Did you make them out of pvc for stability or because the build was more simple you made the rings the way you did to make the over all build more challenging? Either way, it turned out great, Im just curious about your thought process is all. You should make the demon killing Colt pistol from ‘Supernatural’ for your next build, or Harley Quinn’s over sized hammer. I’m currently building a Harley Quinn hammer myself. No video of the construction, but if you made one I’d love to compare! Keep up the awesome work!
I made the rings from plastic to keep a consistent material. And I wanted an all plastic prop in case Jeff Goldblum got to handle it. I could have just as easily cut floor mat foam, and wrapped the edge with thin craft foam, it would have gone a little quicker.
Odin the brown glove you are wearing in this video is the other glove that you didn't use from the freddy glove. I can tell because of the ace logo that you got rid of with acetone
Now I want to see Odin with long hairs!!!😳 My knuckles got hit with that type of drill bit once, it really hurt, but thankfully no cuts or open wounds.
Dude, Odin with long hair must have been something else
I want to see that!
I think we may need a picture. (I've seen it and I still want a picture!)

GREAT build, Odin!
Thank you Joel!
Hey Odin do u think u could make winter soldiers arm?
I have wanted this for so long...
I didn’t know I already had it.
Hey Odin, maybe try making the Poltergust G-00 from Luigi’s Mansion 3
Did you see the Poltergust from Volpin Props? Phenomenal work...
I love the frequent episodes!!! Great work!!!👍👌🤞
Hi Odin, love your works as always, i was wondering if you could do the classic ben 10 omnitrix that would be awesome
i absolutely love how you can tell Odin loves to do this, hes so giddy about everything
wow so cool i love all the props that you make i would love you to make the voltron sword
I'd love to see you recreate the Slayer's Scythe from "Fray" and "Buffy: the Vampire Slayer."
Becky Murphy that would be pretty awesome!
Wow, movie production companies should seriously hire you to make props to be featured in movies, that is awesome!
Correct me if I'm wrong. I've never seen Odin make Lord Vaders helmet. Also imagining it with a built in voice changer.
looooool love the idea
needs to happen!
I have not done Vader or Dark Helmet.

How about a day by day clip of odin growing some facial hair. The By Odin Beard lines would write themselves
My "beard" never grows in. I look like Junior High School all the time! :)
Jeff Goldblum would be proud if he saw that!
Thank you!
If you make another Thor Ragnorak prop, can it please be Thor’s shield or even Korg’s gun?
The Quantum Realm time travel helmets from Endgame.
It's pretty much the same as the Ant-Man helmet he already made ... Except for the paint job.

The storytelling and gameplay compensate for the dated graphics
