In this video I show you how to repair a cracked screen on the new iPhone 11 Pro. As you can see, this repair is not that hard to do if you have a little patience. Although these phones are very expensive to purchase, the repairs on these screens have gotten easier over the last couple years.

I watched your video to prepare for a screen replacement on a iPhone 11 Pro. VERY informative. At first it looks daunting, but the bonus of having a video is the ability to watch over and over until the process is embedded in the mind. Good idea to use the pointed end of your spudger as a 'drift pin' to line up the holes of the component with the screw threads. I can do this. Thanks for the education.
It's not that hard. You just need the right screwdrivers. iPhones use 3 different screwdrivers.
Hey so I wanted to let you know that your video helped me change my replacement screen!! I felt it was really easy. I watched your video a few times but it helped me greatly. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be. My first attempt was an iPhone 12 and the Face ID didn’t work. But bc I didn’t know which tool to use I ended up stripping two screws. So I got scared to try on my working phone I was using which was a iPhone 11 Pro. But with your video I did it within an hour. So far so good!! Thanks again for your video!!

So, I realized now that the only thing that I removed was the glass and not the whole screen, thus the Face ID and mic connector broke.
Your video is very helpful. Had that not had happened to me, I’d have done it so easily. I’ve replaced other screens before for my own phones. But I didn’t realize it until it was too late. Thank you for your video, going to but a connector off eBay and the process is just delayed

Richard, 2 questions. What temperature did you set the heat gun to and can you slide the plastic card to release the glue on both ends reasonably easily or is the right side susceptible to tearing the cable. Thanks

iPhone screens come with the display and glass already glued together. Supplier information I use is in my course.

iPhones are easy for screen repairs starting with the iPhone X.

@@newera6878 No. I didnt know you can program the touch ID. Apple does it in the stores though. I assume it's with a screen repair in Apple store.

Where did you buy the screen ?
Did you remove the rubber from the frame before putting the screen on..? When I opened the phone, it was supposed to open like a book, however, somehow the Face ID connector part stayed behind and broke. :(

Hello dear, i went to change the glass in a repair shop, but it's showing a warning message "unable to verify this iPhone has a genuine Apple display". Did the repair shop changed my original screen or it's a normal thing. thank you.
What about the water proofing ? Sealant ?
Of course it's easy, like every other iPhone repair. Takes 15 mins max...

Yes it will. You just have to heat it alot longer since a heat gun is alot hotter.

You can do glass only on any cell phone. With iPhones I outsource it. With Samsung models I do it in house here in my shop.

I have original iphone 11 pro screens at my workplace. The thing is, the face id thing is on broken screen and the new screen, do i keep the old one from broken screen or can i use the one thats on new screen?
You keep your original ear speaker cable. You trnasfer it over to the new screen. If you dont transfer it over, your face ID will be disabled.

Face ID is not part of the screen. Yes it works.
microphone and camera work great, but my face ID is no good. any advice? did I overheat?
It could be the screen. The Face ID has to see through the glass at the top. If you put the Old screen back on with the small parts, and the FACE ID works again, then it's the new screen that's the issue.

Was so much easier than I thought....everything worked but camera and face recognition .. I looked at the flex tape on camera looks good .. talked to an Apple pro he told me couldn't use 3rd party screens had to use Apple Software ....what's your thoughts
All repair places use 3rd party screens. Everything works fine after screen replacements. Imagine all the people that would be pissed if you lost face ID and front camera functions over a screen replacement. Doesn't make sense. What Probably happened is the cable got damaged somehow. Maybe the cable got stretched when it was peeled off from the original screen.

The screen probably malfunctioning and doesn't work. iPhones can take a punch though.

Doesnt make it water proof anymore adding new adhesive. I believe that's your question. The adhesive you buy anywhere on ebay or amazon is not the same as the original. The original adhesive is a thick foamy type adhesive. The stuff you see elsewhere is just thin black tape.

So there is no way of making it waterproof anymore?
@@RichardMeza I have a tube of B-7000 adhesive from Amazon that you can use to carefully go around the earpiece and all around where the old seal was and this should waterproof it. Better than nothing.

Wish I could see those tiny screws would love to change mine,it's ok $160 to pay to change is ok $100 for parts & $60 for the repair
Can you do a test on an iPhone 11 Pro or Pro Max for camera ghosting? I have a theory. I believe the reflections are coming from the back of the outer lens covers. The lens covers need to be Anti-Reflective coating on the back of the lens covers. The light is bouncing off the camera inner lens and reflecting back from the back of the outer lens cover. If you can remove the crystal lens cover I'll bet the ghosting will go away! If anyone has a broken lens cover that can test my theory. Just take out all of the broken glass a test it. The camera should still work fine without the outer lens cover. Let me know if I'm right....... Thanks

will the genuine apple part message appear on the 11 pro max ??
Yes. After 4 days it disappears off the lock screen. Then after 8 days it disappears off the notifications bar. Then you can only see it after you click into settings to look for it.

Love how you don’t even mention the replacement of the water proofing seal
The adhesives that come with the new screens don’t waterproof the device. The earpiece are also not waterproof on am screens.

Not sure at the moment. I know it disappears off the lock screen after 3 days though.

Where can I purchase the OEM screen for this?
Apple doesn't sell their parts to anyone. But you can get refurbished screens which is basically OEM with an aftermarket glass. They`re generally more expensive.
I had purchased one, swapped out but damaged it when putting the lower body together with the top screen portion. No problem with small connections, just putting phone together is where you can ruin the new screen, as I did. High risk to damage it again. Therefore I let Apple fix it and now has a warranty and you don’t have to worry about it not being water proof.

What about the fact of if the screen isnt married to the device with apple software you'll get a incompatibility notification, even if it's a apple branded screen replacement
That's only in the lock screen. It disappears after 4 days anyways.
@@RichardMeza I didnt know it disappeared. Honestly that whole software marrying is an overreach. They have lightened up a bit to 3rd party repair. Allowing shops such as yourself to become apple certified for free and being able to buy Apple branded parts.

@@SgtTechE you have to have a brick and mortar repair location that you own. Contact apple by searching certified repair certificate apple fill it out take their tests and you'll be allowed to buy apple branded parts for repair. You will not be able to sell them though you would be sued due to strict contract with apple.

Replacement screens aren't available yet but pretty sure the will be priced like the iPhone X and iPhones XS. The older the model, the lower the cost of the screen.

It's possible you bought a not so good aftermarket screen. The phone probably can't read through the glass that was used with your screen. The Face ID sensor probably can't see through the glass Or could have gone out when the screen was cracked.

Will it be still water resistant? After replace the screen?
Nope. Once you do repairs, phone will not be water resistant. So you cannot take pictures swimming under water anymore.
