Bob the contract killer became quite a breakout character after this movie came out. The fact that he was so unassuming really intrigued people.

'the guy with the scar' is one of the most loved actors in the Bengali Film Industry. His name is Abir Chatterjee. Actually you'll find a whole lot of actors from Bengali Film Industry in this Hindi film, because the film setting is in Kolkata, West Bengal. The head inspector (Vidya-Bidya) is a veteran actor and a master of the art, Rana himself is actually an actor and a director as well (Parambrata), the taxi driver, the kid in the hotel is also an established actor now, rwitobroto. So yeah. And Bob Biswas, he's Saswata Chatterjee. The gem, the brilliant one. He's also starring in a lot of hindi movies now, like in the night manager.
This is truly one of my favorite movies in Hindi cinema. Each and every character played a role in weaving the story and I remember coming out of the theatre being speechless. Yay thanks for reacting to this movie guys
In theatres, the interval block was just after Bob pushed Vidya towards the incoming Metro. It created a different level of anxiety back then
Andrew is really smart in picking up clues. This was one of the best thrillers of that year. Superb direction, screenplay great acting by everyone and good suspense.

This is easily the best thriller film ever made in Hindi cinema. The performances, editing everything is fabulous and also the way they beautifully portrayed the City of Joy And our Bengali culture ❤
This is one MASTERPIECE of a movie. Vidya's one of the finest performances till date.
Fun Fact: That Train scene , where Bob Biswas tried to push Vidya towards the train, became controversial and the Censor board became persistent to remove it from the movie; as it can trigger people. But the director and their team convinced them how important it is for the movie and the Censor board agreed.

Kolkata is past Bangalore and Gurgaon are the future. The most shittiest "metropolitan" city. No jobs. Had to leave that hell.

Actually Bengali related movies are truly gems, I don't talk about tollywood of Bengali but bengali films. As being Bengali I saw the films uniqueness and poetry like songs . R.I.P Satyajit Ray oscar winner director one of the greastest director all time. His silent movie of two separate world view is totally unbelievable. 😊😊
The 'Bidda' (Bengali accent of Vidya) never fails to make me smile :)
(FYI the Bengalis will pronounce the 'V' sound as 'B' ; any consonant followed by a 'Y' as the same consonant but just with more emphasis; and the 'A' ('UH' not aa) as 'O'; that's why the name Aravind is pronounced 'Orobindo', Ananya will be 'Ononna'. Infact some Bengalis even prefer to write it like that and as a non-Bengali, I find that amusing and low-key cute.
Also the Pujo is celebrated all over India where Bengali communities get together but Kolkata is the OG. Too beautiful nightlife there at that time of the year, had the pleasure of visiting in 2018. Kolkata has a charm which never leaves your heart.

you guys are up for a ride of a lifetime with this movie..... absolutely amazing movie.... even the city of Kolkata became a prominent character of the movie... that not happening in hindi movies soo often.... every actor of this movie is the best they had.... everyone is great actors in this movie.... vidya, parambrata, nawaz..... and Saswata Chatterjee was absolutely terrified.. and the surprise package of the movie....

This movie was shot in my hometown, Kolkata and the real Mona Lisa guest house she stays at here is still there, close to my grandparents' old house. Love this movie so much. ❤❤❤ Also, Durga Puja!

This reminded me of the all time best intermission scenes I've seen... it stopped when he pushed her and we were wondering what was gonna happen next.
Fun fact: the language that the cop's speaking, Bengali, is my 1st language. There's literally no alphabet for the letter "V". We have "B" and "BH", but no "V". My name is actually supposed to be spelled Vidisha from the sankrit word, but since I'm Bengali my name turned into Bidisha. :)

That V and B difference of Vidya is actually not a matter of misspelling. It's the linguistic difference between Hindi and Bengali letters and the difference in the interpretation of those letters from one to another amongst the 3 languages: Hindi, English, and Bengali. You guys only know English, so u won't understand :)

Also Kolkata, the city in the movie, is extremely hot and humid so you will find all the actors being sweaty. Points for authenticity.
He has seen nawazudin movie. But he won't recognise him. Nawazudin was in Munna Bhai mbbs. The thief who tries to steal munna's father's wallet in railway station, public was hitting him for stealing, munna's dad lectured him and takes him to DR. Munna to treat his wounds. That was struggling nawaz in his early days as an actor.

The movie was truly one of my favourites, sad that the climax was badly copied from taking lives otherwise the whole movie was a gift for all the Bengalis and thriller lovers like me .
