- Now, obviously, this video was recorded before I moved and before I met Nilou in Sumeru. Kind of fun seeing and feeling the music and connecting what we hear from what we see. That's the beauty of video games and the beauty of music imo.

I dislike the fact that people tend to shove Nilou into the boring and without personality category, but in reality she’s just a mismas girl who is loved and has a fully supportive family and friends! Not every character has to go through immense trauma to be interesting or have a personality, some are just bubbly happy people
She needs a good contrasting personality to elevate her.
Yoimiya and Amber are just like that. It is just that Nilou hasn't had many different interactions with other characters. They are "boring" because, honestly, i can find happy bubbly people in my own life, so there isn't much i can gain from a story solely focused on her. (Yoimiya is my favorite female character in the game)
Just look at how much favor Yoimiya and Amber have gotten over their lifespan and participations on story and event quests. Yoimiya contrasting with the other characters during the Akitsu Kimodameshi and having a relationship with Childe over their love of children and literally being accepted by the Aranara's in her most recent quest. Amber playing a sisterly role in Collei's life and being Eula's bestie.
Nilou hasn't had many direct interactions with other characters. I mean, technically she has had, but most of the time she is just in the background, like the interdarshan championship, she technically was there but did next to nothing.

Having different personalities in the game is what makes it feel much more real, it would be extremely boring if everyone was just loud and cheerful, that’s why characters like Wanderer who are more aggressive, or like Zhongli who are more elegant and refined do so well and are loved, because they have variety to them.
I also think comparing Nilou with Yoimiya and Amber a bit nonsensical because Amber has been in the game since day 1, and Yoimiya has been there since version 2.0, they’ve had lots more time for us to know them better and for the devs to give us content based on them, Nilou was released in version 3.0…she hasn’t had time to be included in multiple events like the other two, she’s has the least amount of time released from the three and hasn’t been given a chance to be properly explored in terms of character frown and development!
Sure their personalities are very similar, but they all represent a different vibe, While Yoimiya is explosive and loud, Nilou is more elegant and more subdued, still holding a good fight when needed to, and Amber is a perfect mix, where sometimes she is loud and quirky, other times she’s shown to be smart and more refined.
Plus Nilou isn’t “just there” I mean cmon, she was literally an integral part in the last part of the Sumeru Archon Quest and perhaps has one of the most relatable and real story quests from all of the characters
She isn’t obligated to be your type of character, and I’m not saying she must be, all I’m saying is that people shouldn’t push her into the boring category simply because she isn’t Yoimiya level of energetic or have a traumatic story like Wanderer, it’s a common thing to see that many characters who don’t have a deep and tragic backstory are often categorized as dull, boring or useless, when sometimes those are the characters people can relate to the most cause they feel like many we know!

@@riotangel4701 But actually if you pay attention to the story and even her voicelines you have to understand that dance, art and being free and performing in public is really what makes Nilou such a beautiful and important character. It may be a shock but so many women, especially from the country her dance and inspiration comes from, are feeling connected and appreciate Nilou. She is a really badass character tbh and u can see how she values people around her, I think its really amazing. I cant imagine many people who would be brave enough and feel strong enough love and have enough power to stand up against their government in such a way. Its beautiful. The art and the theater is home for so many people and she was willing to take the risk and protect them. In the corrupted nation of Sumeru, she showed that unlike the sages thought, art is really important and crucial to the life and happiness of people. And especially freedom. Remember that even the guards near Akademiya didnt want to stop her and were actually mesmerized by her performance? Art reflects life. Thats also why I love Nilou so much. I think many people living in our world should learn this lesson.
This was before I met Nilou in Game btw. Looking forward to playing more Sumeru quests before Fontaine drops. 7/17 here on youtube! Going to record Kazuha soon.

I don’t think calling Nilou boring is justified. I feel like she represents the creativity, elegance, and innocence that the scholars have abandoned in search of knowledge and truth. She is the antithesis of the Sumeru scholars.
She has the most fun reaction in the entire game tbh...she blooms people to death within a blink of an eye..!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣

Obviously, it is amazing that Marco is able to do such things (I can only speak about myself and I wouldn't be able to do something like this), but it also shows how great and fitting the music is in the first place.

Me too I main Nilou as well. But I still didnt get a chance to have her sign weapon which is very good to boost her bounty core bloom damage 😢.

Your interpreting of the music never fails to impress me.
2:06 I think that the sensuality could be interpreted as the intimacy of the performance and that connection between performer and audience, especially since she’s often the star of the stage. And that music is showing that dance between vulnerability(shown in the amount of instruments playing) and control(the elegance and control and refinement that these instruments have, and how they are played, this dance between overflowing passion and control and mastery) that performers do, and it’s awesome to see. I especially love seeing the reintroduction of the Dance of Sabzeruz music, because that song made me cry multiple times, and seeing it go from Bossa Nova to a whole new groove is amazing

Nilou will always be one of my favorite genshin characters in terms of both design/background as well as gameplay. Her whole character is built off her pride in her dances and you are constantly reminded of that when you play her.
2:24 Actually if you listen from the moment the flutes first come in (1:21), the melody is a modified version of the score that plays during the Dance of Sabzeruz cutscene.
God I love Nilou's character theme so much! It is my absolute favorite character theme, it's so beautiful and elegant! Honestly I wish it was longer.
I really love this demo and Nilou herself, even if some people say she is boring, has no personality or didnt do anything important, I think they are forgetting something or didnt actually play the same game as me or skipped through the quests or only look at the surface and dont see her depth.

Sumeru music has some of my favorite tracks in the game and some of them have for me that very rare quality where you like them the first listen but on repeated listens you like them even more instead of getting tired.
I love Nilou. She's wholesome and honest. Her reactions are the cutest of them all. 🥰
If only, there was an option... when a character is selected, their theme is played.. or one slot of 4 plays specific theme of character in the slot. (default is regional battle music) Nilou's theme is so wonderful.
I've always wanted to hear a Chopin-esque piano arrangement of this song. Legato and ritardare those high notes and lean into the romantic nature of the piece!
As Nilou main, I'm so glad they put so much love and care for the design. She's niche, but it's just very fun to watch things implode with water and basically plant's juice😂
Idk if you've properly seen her kit but i think you should do a reaction/analysis on her gameplay sfx. As her kit has actual hints of sound motifs relating to her culture or what she references. I just really love how good they researched her and how Persians also agree she is good representation.

I love her animation so much, everytime I change the graphic settings of the game, the first thing I do to test is switching to Nilou and do the twirl 4 times. She hits pretty hard too btw.
Wow, the timing of this upload haha. I was *just earlier today* talking to a group of online friends about how much I love this demo and the music, and, well, Nilou herself. She's so pretyy, and so is her theme. One of my favorite characters, she really speaks to me ❤

When you mentioned the slow version of Swirls of Shamir, well it isn't. In fact the song that is played in that moment is the one that's played in the same moment when you finish sumeru archon quests of the loop. Idk if you have reached that moment but for me is a very emotional piece, it's one of if not the best archon. Quest we've had

The Music is more like Indian but her dance and name are Iranian / Persian
You know I didn't even realize that the one part towards the end was a slowed down version of Swirls of Shamisar (ik I butchered that spelling A LOT) until you pointed it out. Nice ear!

He filmed this a while back, when he hadn't met Nilou yet in game. I don't know when this was filmed, but it's possible that the album (The Stellar Moments 3) with Nilou's theme (Lotus of Haftkarsvar) wasn't released yet.

there are album versions of the genshin character themes found here on youtube, I think released by hoyo-mix, most of the recent character themes are in "Genshin Impact - The Stellar Moments, Vol. 3" album
so with this, you can listen to the characters themes without needing to watch the japanese trailer first, and can focus on the song alone

What’s almost as impressive to me as the music is how every single Japanese voice over for young female characters sounds exactly the fcking same.
When you’re used to it, you can hear the difference, as someone who’s first language is Spanish and 2nd English, what you described felt the same for me when I heard people from the US talk, specially african americans, and yk the southerners (I live in Texas), but since I grew listening to Japanese dub, Voice actresses all have their unique touch like Saori hayami with her soothing voice (shinobu from demon slayer, yor from SpyXfam) or Yui Ishikawa with her monotonous voice that manages to get you calm (mikasa ackerman, 2B)
Or more like how black people all sound the same
I can tell them apart just with the voices, so it probably depends on which language you're used to playing in
I dunno, I speak decent Japanese so it’s not even a matter of comprehension.
I do hear the difference in voices but it’s minimal to me. People praise Japanese VA and I realize it’s a big industry there but it’s so samey and often over the top. It’s like they voice stereotypes rather than individual characters.
The only one that’s good in Genshin imo is Raiden’s VA Sawashiro but even then I prefer Anne.
@@babyjiren9676 to me it feels the opposite, eng feels like they just reading a script, i feel the character comes to life when the jap voice more often, although there are some good ass eng VA’s, Zhongli’s VA is on par with the jap to me, raiden shogun I am kinda biased cuz of her roles in previous animes. To look into a more recent thing, Blade from star rail, both VA’s did god’s work with the character
