Innovation is always good.. don't call it cutting edge tech because I use LTE on my drones for years, sterted with 3G, then 4G and now 5G with the UAVCast system so, nothing new from you so far BUT, nice to see one more group of people developing such a system.
Very nice ground station. This is my dream setup. I acquired whip antennae for 2.4Ghz and 5.8Ghz, along with lots of coax cable, in-line bandpass filters, and line amplifiers to connect those antennae atop a 60-foot tower beside my home. Am I right in assuming that the RC controller you are using with this setup has been modified to connect coax cable fittings, thus allowing your antenna to be out on the roof of your building?
If you watch the video closely, you'll see that all telemetry/control/video is via 4G, so no coax to an outside antenna is necessary. Everything is being passed via the internet/4G to the aircraft.
Such old tech, wishing people would now realise this is now legacy tech and move to waypoint without gps using a RPI. We developed this tech in 2017 free for anyone using a Parrot Disco or bebop, One of the most over priced drones released till it was sold for near nothing. and to this day still works flawlessly. Rather then concentrate on well established teh move it forward. i realise this is a year old but even then nothing new is being offered.
