Long story short 2 years after selling my 335i and driving a 4cylinder FWD I just bought a M140i :) If you´ve ever driven one of these cars/engines(N54,N55,B58) you will come back one day.

Scott, I'm glad all went well with the transplant. I love the 3 series cars and currently looking for a 335i. People don't want to sell them often. I currently have a 2006 325xi wagon and its a bmw love hate. Great video and good luck with everything to come Scott. Sam love the channel.
Hey Sam, I’ve had 3 of these N54 335i’s and most of them have the same issues. The valve cover always cracks in the same spot (weak point on the cover and these engines run hot), could also be caused by previous mechanic prying out an injector with the value cover. A leaking valve cover will cause the cylinders to pool with oil and give you a rough idol. You should also check you PCV valve to see if it’s clogged or not venting correctly. Also recommend you check to see if your fuel injectors are index 12 (the most reliable ones) as anything below 12 will most likely fail also giving you a rough idle. If you have some oil on your coolant check your oil filter housing gasket as they always fail. I’d also check your engine mounts as when they drop your fan belt will rub on the frame and eventually snap. High pressure fuel pump is also very common on these so good to check if yours is the revised updated one. Probably a good time to put in some Catless downpipes and an aluminium charge pipe. Lastly do a quick tune and you’ll be pushing 600bhp in no time! Best of luck with this one! Such a ripper of a car!
It’s a suburbia... there’s a bajillion stop signs by the time you get to the main street. I always blow through stop signs if I can see around the corner and nobody is coming.

Here is a good tip from me. I have myself a E92 335i, and if you put straight downpipes and add a MHD stage 2+ tune, your car can even run better and more economical. The turbo boost from factory runs pretty low PSI about 8psi, but the MHD tune bumps it up to 14psi, which is not even too much of a stress. So in the end, you will have a better running, more economical, more powerful car :)
Sam, I think we need a car catch up, we can't keep track of what you've got and what you've had. Do you still have the focus? What about the pizza cars?

Samcrac I have 3 BMWs and do all my own maintenance. You usually have to replace 3 gaskets about every 80k miles. Valve cover, oil filter housing, and oil pan. Sparks should be replaced every 30-40k if you’re running it hard.

@@brianhume4743 maybe he had a coupe
Prices have held pretty well on em too, probably gonna go up
@@doddgarger6806 how did they hold up well? There under 10 grand used all day long
Amazed at the amount of plastic on your BMW. Pity they don't make major parts out of metal, for example the cam cover. Keep up the good work sir.
Nice car, those 3 litre engines are the best of that generation, only common things to go on those are the electrics. Hope it serves you well.
Electronics, coils, turbos, HPFP, cooling system etc. Many things go wrong on these, they are still awesome fun cars though.
Sam, I think we need a car catch up, we can't keep track of what you've got and what you've had.
Do you still have the focus? What about the pizza cars?
4:20 No cop no stop lmao
I wish I came across the deals you find.. My wife has had a 2005 Neon for 10 years now. We maintain it and fix it so there was no reason to get her a new car but really its time. She deserves one. If I can find a broke down ride like this she would be so happy!!
Samcrac I have 3 BMWs and do all my own maintenance. You usually have to replace 3 gaskets about every 80k miles. Valve cover, oil filter housing, and oil pan. Sparks should be replaced every 30-40k if you’re running it hard.
Laughed out loud when you said I'm just gonna wait till that snow melts off
That's freaking hilarious
My favorite youtube channel (despite the embedded promotions). Carry on! P.s. Carly requires you to pay a subscription.
Boo. Bimmercode is a one time purchase even though it only codes and doesn't read codes.
Did anyone else notice when he was test driving it at night, he blew through a stop sign? Lol
laughed so hard when i saw it
I was just finna comment this
Could a t-boned some heffer into some mighty fine stee-ax. Or just boned some heffer good enough to make some. Either way steaks are high.
And the car would most likely not be insured either.
I feel in love with BMW as a service member in the US Army back in 1981 and I wish that had one now
I use to watch my Dad and brother tinker with cars, love it. I never can remember where stuff goes back.
I think u shoud give him. Back The car as a good karma..!
Woud be a huge surprinse for. Him. I think. !
He put 180k on it he doesn't want it back he replaced it
If he wanted it he would have never given it to him
Samcrac is a very charitable guy. I'm sure in the end he will donate the car to good organization.
Did you just run that stop sign at the 4:20 mark??
From the car legit had in his garage shows just how far behind Sam’s videos are. That amg video was a while ago.
I have a 335i xdrive coupe and these videos are going to help tremendously! Looking forward to the series
Love watching maintenance videos like this! I absolutely love BMWs because no matter what the problem you can easily find the solution on the internet.
Just ignoring that stop sign at 4:21.
Hes driving a bmw
I was hoping someone else saw that. “I’m just driving through this neighborhood at slow speeds”
in europe noone actually stops at stop signs, we slow down and look if theres any cars coming and just roll through it... i dont get why theyre so strict on stop signs in the us
@@joshkiej6601 They did it to get more revenue. Same reason why licensing isn't strict enough. They secretly want stupid drivers. It pays them.
@@MrCarGuy oh we have better things for that, insanely high car taxes, 21% taxes on nearly everything and 45% wage taxes. And then our government somehow doesnt have enough money
"AND I'LL CATCH YOU.. very soon" trademark it sam 10/10 iconic
Incredible he delivered it to you. Class act
Great video Sammy! 196k on my stock 335 and 29mpg! The twin turbo sport pkg Bmrs are no comparison to any other BMW! Night and day difference. Oil leaks can be a bitch but it's like any relationship... you get out of it what you put in it and she is very rewarding.. No major fixes on mine after 3 years and I drive it like my girlfriend..
Hey there. Stuck in quarantine in Madagascar. Wanted to thank you for your videos. Have been very handy in keeping me from going completely insane.
24:15 “Turn the car off!..Hang on a sec, that’s not tight” doesn’t move the nut the slightest bit with the wrench.. “Now it’s tight..no more leaks” 😂
Yeah what about that Bond! It will never die! LOL
Bob A Perhaps I do die in this last film.
@@GrahamSalisbury1111 Don't say that dude! The last thing I want to see is a female Bond. The role was never intended for a female character IMO!
Bob A rumors it’s a black female replacing me.
@@GrahamSalisbury1111 No way. That just won't fly at all. Craig is one of the best for a modern day Bond! IMHO!
I'll always love you, Scott❤.

Scott really looks and sounds like the genuine article! What a contagious smile!
In addition to a thin-wall socket, get a piece of hose that will fit tightly over the end of a spark plug. Then use that to thread the spark plug into the block.
