    Thanks for this tutorial. I used this basic idea to make a single layer neck warmer. I just crochet a decorative edge on both ends to match the edge I had on my matching hat.

    I am thankful for your how to videos as I am a newbie to Addi King. I love your clear audio, non drawn out tutorial and close up video shot. Now off to master this grafting technique.
    One thing that I would love to also see / learn about is instructions on making corrections of all sorts. For example in this video where you wound the loom 2-3 needles too far. You corrected it on video but not in a manner that I could learn from. The manual that comes with the loom was very lacking in this regard and all the feedback I have read thus far when one makes a mistake is to just rip it ALL out. Thanks again !

      Hi Susan. I am so glad the videos were helpful! Thank you for the suggestion. I have not seen many videos showing how to correct mistakes, but many mistakes can be fixed without ripping it all out. I will definitely be making some videos explaining things like that! Thanks!

    Thank you so much for making more videos. It makes it a lot easier to try and figure out how to make things on the addi. Just wondering if you've ever made a sweater?

      Hi Theresa. I have not made a sweater yet, but I have some garment ideas in the works.

      Can't wait to see your sweater project with the Addi King. I have enough hats and typical scarves to last a lifetime. I would so appreciate seeing other garment projects that can be made using the Addi King/Pro. Crafty Ginger (YT)made a Ralph Lauren fringed scarf that is unusual, classy & upbeat using her Addi King and crochet trim work.

    Did you leave the waste scrap yarn attached? Or after grafting did you pull it out thru a seam area? Thank you in advance

    • @YayForYarn
      @YayForYarn  Год назад

      Hi. Yes, after grafting, you pull on the waste yarn until it comes out completely. I hope this helps!

    when your making hats for young adults or kids vs. adults how many rows do you usually do for say a child 6-12 years old? Thanks I love your videos they are very helpful - I just bought an Addie and you have helped me a lot thanks

    • @YayForYarn
      @YayForYarn  7 лет назад

      Hi Cherise. The actual number of rows will depend on the yarn and tension you are using, so I like to measure the length in inches (or centimeters) rather than rows. My hat video (ruclips.net/video/9Qejb4709ZE/видео.html) shows how to accurately measure the length of your knitting while it is still on the machine. Some children can wear an adult sized hat, and some have slightly smaller heads. So, you could make them a little shorter if you want, but you don't have to. These knitted hats are nice and stretchy. Even if the child has a smaller head and the hat is slightly longer than necessary, you can just fold the brim up a little bit more. Also, as the child grows, you can fold the brim up a little less to make the hat longer. As for the Earwarmer Headband in the video above, size adjustment for a child is not necessary, as the circumference is very stretchy and will fit a variety of head sizes. Changing the number of rows for the headband will only affect the width. Hope this helps! Thanks!

      Hi Sheryl! The link to the grafting video was in the card (the little circle with the "i"), in the top right hand corner of the video, at about 6:31. I have just added it to the description as well, but here it is: ruclips.net/video/C_SqN_p64TI/видео.html Hope this helps! Thanks!

      Hi! This yarn is Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn. I don't remember the colorway, though. They have lots of "print" colorways that resemble colorwork knitting. I hope this helps!

    Very nice. Where did you buy your machine, where can I buy cheaper? I have one but is from Thread and Loops, and it seems so fragile. Yours look more sturdy. can you please teach how to twist/cross this band while knitting.

    • @YayForYarn
      @YayForYarn  6 лет назад

      Hello! The Addi King can be purchased from multiple places online. I purchased one of my machines on Amazon, and the other from an online yarn store. You can purchase on Amazon here: amzn.to/2zPILM3 (affiliate link) My version of the headband is knit as a tube, so it cannot be twisted while knitting. If you want a twisted headband, you can knit a narrow flat panel slightly shorter than the desired head circumference, twist it, and graft the ends together. Hope this helps! Thanks!

    When you drop the waste yarn and add the new yarn to the first black hook, it looks like the last white hook has no yarn. Does it make a hole in that spot?

    • @YayForYarn
      @YayForYarn  7 лет назад

      Hi. When you cast on with waste yarn, that yarn does not continue into the first round to be knit. Because the cast-on yarn is supposed to go behind the last white needle, and it doesn't come up to be knit on the first black needle, it just hangs down. The last white needle remains empty. This does not leave a hole in the fabric. It does, however, leave the stitch from the last white needle off of the cast-on waste yarn. Instead, that stitch is held on the yarn tail of the main knitting yarn. I show and explain how to deal with that in my "How to Seamlessly Graft Addi Tubes" video: ruclips.net/video/C_SqN_p64TI/видео.html Hope this helps! Thanks!

      I'm having the same issue without really understanding your explanation. I've tried to follow along twice but when I get to the last white stitch/first black stitch with my main colour, there is a hole as if it's missing a stitch... I must be missing something because everyone else seems to be getting it easily. 😢

    • @YayForYarn
      @YayForYarn  5 месяцев назад +1

      If all of the needles do have a loop of yarn in the hook, then it may be that you need to pull on the tail yarn to tighten the first stitch of the round. I would suggest knitting for a couple inches, and then pulling the cast on edge of the fabric up towards you, so you can kind of turn it up and see the front side of the work. See what the fabric looks like, and if there is a gap there, tightening the yarn tail at the beginning may help to close it. I hope this helps!

    Hello thanks for the video, please how about the size?

    • @YayForYarn
      @YayForYarn  7 лет назад

      Hi. My ear warmer headband is made from worsted weight yarn. Un-stretched, it measures 15 inches around, but it can comfortably stretch to 23 inches around. This size will fit most children and adults. If you needed it to be a little bigger, you could make it from bulky weight yarn. Thanks!
