    I come back to this clip often. One of the finest and best sounding band in a room performances I’ve ever heard. Amazing.

    You really feel it with this guy, especially the slide solo on “I want love”. So authentic. Thanks, JD.

    I only discovered JD recently, but wow! He looks like he aged 10 years since this was filmed... He's gone from looking boyish to a grown man! I guess it's the beard... Anyway, good stuff! Thanks JD and Paste!

    The reason the alabama shakes record is great is because of their producers. Behind every great artist there’s somebody cultivating their vision.

    I think JD is the guitar player that players like Bonamassa are trying to and want to be. A more pure and less pretentious player.

    • @JJ-mb5kt
      @JJ-mb5kt 4 года назад +1

      Scott allen Bonamassa is only famous because his daddy was the biggest guitar dealer in New York in the 80’s and whenever any famous guy walked in he forced them to teach Joe a lick or something then they would get the guitar.

      @@JJ-mb5kt both of these comments are ridiculous in their ignorance of why and how people play the fuckin guitar!

    • @planej6315
      @planej6315 4 года назад +2

      @@JJ-mb5kt Bullshit. Bonamassa could outplay most people by the age of 13. That's why he's famous.

    I really like jd and his band. I love the psychedelic realm they live in. But for me as a musician and also have played 200 shows in a years time and traveling the world and witnessing different cultures have realized that it’s best to keep politics out of my craft and originals even as strong as I may feel about them. But to me it can hinder your growth as an artists in the people’s eye. The song, “I pray” was more of his political stance than an actual prayer. And the song actually turned me off a little about jd. it’s just better to leave your personal belief outside of your artistry, because honestly no one cares what you believe as an artist and that’s just honesty. People solely want to be entertained, They want to cry over a sad song, they want to jump and shout to a party song, and politics now a days mostly only evokes anger in people and no one likes to be angry. But that’s just my opinion which no one probably cares about lol.

      Aaron Brooks artists have been putting their beliefs and feelings in their songs since the beginning of music.

      that's your problem, not their's dude! as a 'musician, (right, like what? a dj?!) you wouldn't want someone preaching their fucking phobias at you now would you?!

    • @Lanearndt

      I would politely suggest that the point you’re missing is that ‘personal belief’ and ‘artistry’ are one and the same. Anything else could be regarded as disingenuous...
