I just woke up (morning here in New Mexico) and saw your great reaction first thing. I saw LM4 yesterday during the premiere and, as usual when it comes to Ren, was completely thrown off of my expectation track. Ren's creative mind is like Star Trek, boldly going where no person has gone before. My first thought about this song is that Ren "speaks the quiet part out loud," revealing what he's really thinking at any given time whether it makes us uncomfortable or not. And the truth is, we all feel jaded about our lives and our work from time to time, as he mentions in the first few lines. And we all have "inappropriate" thoughts--sexual or violent or self-defeating--but we tamp them down instead of looking at them closely, expressing them, dealing with them toward a positive end. Ren's rawness might throw some people off, but it only has me admiring him more and getting me to look inward a bit more.

When you said Ren this isn't you it occurred to me that that is probably why in the chorus he says I don't really feel right... then we get lyrics that don't sound like something we'd hear from him. Although, really everything to me anyways sounds like something hed say just because most raps he puts out have at least one pervy line or sexual innuendo. Its just not as shocking because it's one or two lines sprinkled in, rather than most of the song. Murderer has "Brother ask your mother what my name is" and "Shocking like a finger in the anus," Love Music 3 has "So take my willy and lick it" and "Put my finger in your ring like I'm Frodo," Illest of Our Time has "Words are kind of muffled when you're sucking on my massive -" Losing It has "You look quite fit with my dick in your hand" and "Cum twice busting a nut you can't fake it" and What You Want has "Puffing draw, passing left, busting raw on her chest". I love hearing his raps the first time cuz I can count on at least 1 line bringing out my inner 13yr old boy 😂
I think Ren was “channeling his inner 13 year old” with this one according to what he wrote about it. Nothing deep and meaningful, just rapping for the fun of it and letting whatever puerile humour that crossed his mind just pour out

I listened to the premiere, and this is the first time I listened since. I was fine with all of it, listening and laughing - until he dragged Halle Berry into it. Just felt really unnecessary and disrespectful. He lost me on that one, probably won't listen to this song again.
