For example if a guy wants to be in volleyball everyone will make fun of that person & day that’s a girl sport. but if a girl wants to play baseball or football it’s apparently ok for them to play that sport. +BASEBALL FOREVER But it does matter. It doesn't matter if you can hit your spots, if you're too slow with your pitches, you won't keep anyone off balance. She will get an ERA of about 10 in any Low A season.
Speed doesn't have to matter. Pitchers that throw multiple pitch types with lots of movement and can hit their spots can be just as effective. If she can throw at least as hard as Kyle Hendricks or Zach Davies she might have a chance.

I think it's rather depressing how many comments are just saying how she can't do this. I'm not sure who you're trying to convince, but she's been told that her entire life and look how far she's come. There's enough negativity in the world guys, if she's successful now then who knows what she's capable of in the future.
This isn't negativity. This is realism. Sure, anyone can make it to a WCL team if they practiced hard enough. But she will never make it to MLB. Her fastball is way too slow.

I would have to somewhat disagree. have you ever spent time hitting anything 85mph and up ? then try to rapidly switch down to 60 ? Baseball is just as much timing when hitting and when your used to 90mph hit 70mph is just like trying to hit over 100mph. Dont believe me go spend a week in the cages and just select the fastest they offer then suddenly hop down to slower speed.... GL
Captain Coffee Cake but in the MLB, they are the best of the best.. Transitioning from 90 to Batting practice isn't difficult to them. Oh and Carbeeezy is correct, a knuckleball would not be enough. Best of luck to her though

Carbeeezy have you ever faced a good knuckle ball pitcher.? You never know where that ball will move to. That causes ground out's and pop ups. Rarely a hitter gets a good SOLID hit..

Hi I’m an eleven year old girl I loved playing baseball and a lot of other girls played in the same league because they did not have enough girls to play as a team so they had to play baseball but I was the only girl who really signed up for baseball and all the other girls want to play softball. I love your story I want to like you but I’m not a pitcher I have always loved bas ball and always will. Now I have to play softball but I have learned to cope with it. I have learned so much from playing with my stepdad but I always call him daddy. This story will always be in my brain. When we were at school they played football on the field but I showed them that girls could also play. This is so inspirational keep it up girlfriend.

Baseball hasn’t always been a men’s sport, and honestly this inspires me to believe that girls are just as strong as men, I’ve played softball for 7 years now and I’ve been told on multiple occasions that I will never be as good as the baseball players, but thank you for showing me that it is possible!

i could see a chick knuckleball pitcher because that's all about dexterity and rhythm. What scares me is the speed at which the pro game is played and the power of the players. I'm big and strong and I am coordinated, but when I tried to play against some guys who'd been up with the Dodgers, I could see the difference between them and me. I was playing third base when some guy who'd had a cup of coffee in the bigs knocked one past my ear. He was a lefty, but he saw me slouching and hit a frozen rope past my head into the opposite field. There it is: talent.

Why are a bunch of people complaining that men can’t join the women’s volleyball league, There is such thing as a men’s volleyball league. There’s no women’s baseball or football, and softball, while very similar, is different from baseball.
The reason why women do not play with men is because then there would need to be a second locker room and we all know men + women in any pro sport leads to allegations which does not look good for franchise owners.

I live in Italy and I started playing baseball at the age of 5(there was no softball team) and my best friend and I were the smallest people on the team so even if we had been playing longer than everybody (literally) the beys kept getting used instead of us, until our parents begged the coach for a softball team, so now we're three years inti softball (after 6 years of baseball) and a lot more girls that used to play with us came back.
I don't see why a girl can't play baseball because when was it ever labelled a "man's sport"? I am personally one of the girls that dreams of playing baseball in the big leagues even though I know it will ever happen. So before you trash talk anyone remember that women should be able to evrything guys do and even more.

By all means keep trying, but people don’t understand the disparity between men and women physically. A man was recently fired at google for simply suggesting that men and women were different, not unequal just different.

As a European I just don't understand why Americans separate sports by gender so much. Just googled the difference between baseball and softball and I totally understand why she wants to play baseball! We girls don't need any softening, just let them play the same sports so they have enough girls for a team! :)
Seriously I would have been so angry as a kid when somebody told me I can't do this one sport just because it is for boys only🤔
