Emma, I’m an avid cruiser and have enjoyed your vids ever since subscribing some time ago. Alas, I must draw the line at ketchup on pizza. N-O! 😂😂 Nice job on this, it held my interest all the way!
Strictly speaking, he's right about the ketchup. But there is a way around that; just ask for extra marinara/pizza sauce on the side. Then you can dip in that.
I cruised on P&O's Britannia in late June around the Fjords, It was a great experience since it was the first cruise I can remember, We found loads of ducks around the ship and I loved watching my sister hide them all for the next guests, really adds to the experience for younger kids.
YES!!! Wash yer hands, folks! Great video - deffo need to keep my eyes peeled for a deal like that on Royal! Did you know, 'naff' is actually (probably) from Polari? Great video 😊
NOPE didn't do it before covid not doing it now. I wash them when I need to and I. Not using hand sanitizer that stuff is bad kills all the good bacteria that protects from the bad ! And ya wonder why you get sick 😂😂😂
Just disembarked Voyager of the Seas and there was a lovely lady stationed outside the buffet dancing to tunes and gleefully calling out "Washy washy before yummy yummy!" 🤣🤣
I am with 100% on the hand washing before eating. I was on a HAL cruise in June, and the number of people (the majority) who just walked right past the hand washing station was mind boggling and disheartening. Your cruise looks like it was a lot of fun. Thank you for sharing it with us.

The far north in Norway is absolutely stunning! Can highly recommend visiting the island called Senja, that one island is like a miniature Norway with tall mountains, fjord landscapes and agriculture with very dramatic changes in scenery, it's an absolutely stunning place and one of my favorite places in Norway. As a Swede who grew up with caravan vacations to the far north every summer, it's safe to say I've seen a fair bit of it. Visited North Cape 3 times before I even became a teenager just as an example. North Cape is another favorite of mine, but do yourself a service and stay at Magerøya for a few nights, there's so much more to see and do than visiting the North Cape center (which you really should go to on a summer evening with chance to see the midnight sun) and coming there with a cruiseship or bus trip just doesn't give you enough time, nor do most of them go up to the North Cape center in the evening (and the few that do, are in a hurry to bring their passengers back down soon after midnight so there's not much time for people to just take it in, on a trip that for many is a once in a lifetime trip) so yeah, for North Cape, go by car (own or rental) and stay at a hotel/hostel/camp site for a few nights to really have time. Last time I went, in 1998, my parents and I were doing little excursions on the island and having our caravan at Kirkeportens Camping, we went to one of the small fishing villages on the island and found a bird safari boat trip there, that boat trip was a lot of fun and we saw thousands of puffins and other sea birds, including 9 sea eagles! Tromsø is another nice place to visit, as is the Lyngen area around Djupvik and Skibotn, the latter does require car though. Narvik is nice as well, and can recommend taking the train over to Sweden (or come to Narvik by train from Sweden), it's a very scenic train journey and also the northernmost railroad in Europe or even in the world. One thing to keep in mind though with Norway... It is EXPENSIVE!!! (And yes, the prices are high even for the locals, but it's not as noticeable for them as their wages are also very high, it's a very rich country after all. But yeah, often a huge surprise for foreigners visiting the country) Many Norwegians who happen to live close to the Swedish border, often come over to Swedish border towns just to do some shopping, candy and such is especially popular. Not just do we not have "sugar tax" here in Sweden, which they do in Norway, our prices are lower as well and that's before taking into account that the Norwegian Krona is stronger than the Swedish Krona. They can literally save a small fortune on coming over to Sweden to buy for example a Marabou chocolate bar, compared to buying the exact same chocolate bar in Norway. But yeah, can highly, highly recommend Norway, especially the north. Just don't underestimate how much "pocket money" you'll need there just to cover the essentials like accommodation, transportation and food (then add any admission fees, snacks and souvenirs on top of that)
@EmmaCruises it is by far the most scenic country I have been to and so friendly as well. When anyone says they are thinking of going, I say don't think, just do it.
Been watching you a little while, your videos are great but you’re the only other person I know who likes ketchup with their pizza! I might never go on a cruise but I’ll always support a fellow ketchup appreciator!!! 😂❤ You’re a gem, thank you for sharing with all of us!
This past spring we did a transatlantic on Anthem to Southampton and it was so much fun. The few children on board were behaved and it was a wonderful ship.
The buffet on the Quantum class of ships is the best design I've seen while cruising. The seating on the windows is separated from the buffet in the middle by a large open concourse that has no pinch points. Very handicap friendly, unlike Allure of the Seas where the buffet islands are in the middle of the concourse, forcing all traffic through the same space. Had trouble with my mom's scooter on that ship.
I love pizza with ketchup! I actually make a mix of ketchup, mayo, and mustard as a dip for pizza often... I'll tell you my most controversial pizza option, sauce-LESS pizza! I grew up with ordering no sauce on pizza because my mom was allergic to garlic which was heavily used in the 90s and 2000s in most sauces in my area. It was hilarious if we ordered from a new place or I told new people about my pizza order and they were all just shocked. But when they would try it they would all be converted. And they totally understand the appeal of sauce-less pizza. You can actually taste the toppings, not just a mouthful of tomato.
We cruised to Norway on the Anthem two years ago. It was an amazing cruise and we really enjoyed the ship. Thanks for sharing this review... it brought back a lot of great memories.
Probably a silly question but are there cruises that you'd recommend for people that are introverts? Cruises look fun and intimidating at the same time. So many things to do and a ton of people, too much sensory overload.
There are some that have themes such as lectures on a topic (I think Viking?) some that will have an organised set of activities such as knitting club that a couple of hundred people are doing if you want company, …but those seem to be on regular ships. You might be best off with small river cruises. Emma has some videos on those that are worth checking out. Different demographic of people you might cope better with and you can get off the boat more easily.
Cruising with Royal on Freedom for my first time in December and am so excited! I also agree a bazillion percent about the hand washing. It's absolutely disgusting to think of handling utensils that others who haven't washed grosses me out so bad. I try to keep hand sanitizer with me when I go to buffets on cruises.
Hello Emma, I totally agree with you about hand washing. Don T. would also be in agreement with you. It's good to prevent norovirus, covid and the common cold. I always wash my hands and sometimes I wash them before and always after. I don't know about the ladies, but I can tell you that some men go to the bath room and exit without washing their hands. That's why I hate shaking hands.
Looks like you had a great cruise. I recently did my first cruise to Norway on Iona and I really enjoyed it. Norway is a great country and the views in Olden is truly spectacular. I really enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and airy interiors of Iona; the Anthem of the Seas looks so different to Iona, lots more activities and feels very exciting. Feels like that's the next cruise line on my list to try.
We saw you on the cruise a few times! We didnt want to interrupt your family time, but it was great to see you! We went on thie cruise because of your past video on Anthem in Norway, had a fantastic time and will be going on another cruise! We had an interior room on Deck 7 and had no issues with not having windows, though we did both miss the fresh air and spent lots of time at the back of the windjammer. Ketchup definitely goes on pizza. Thanks for the advice in other videos on getting insurance with missed port cover, it was so helpful for the port change. 14 ducks? We only found 2 despite many frantic duck hunts! Spotted myself at 15:14
What a wonderful cruise. Me and my mum really enjoyed our first cruise to Norway! I even spotted us in your video. I was swimming in the fjord, near kayak station in Flam. In the video I am already out of the water, drying.😂
Love that!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂 I always try to make it so that no other guests are really identifiable unless you know it’s you then you can tell. Hope you had the best time. ❤❤❤
Allowing "VIPs" to jump the queue is bad business. It's just going to leave a bad taste in the mouths of the people who have been patiently waiting. If I was cruising as a VIP I'd be embarrassed to do it.
We have sailed Star Class, we never went to the front of the line for any activities. We did take advantage of being escorted off the ship at one of the ports, at a separate door so we could be first off the ship, that was nice.
I liked the option of Yacht Club fast queues on our last cruise. Not because we were YC, but because it helped us to jump queue with disabled parents, who couldn’t wait in queue for an hour…
I cruised on anthem of the seas from July 5th to July 12th. We were on a 7 night fjords cruise going to, would you believe it, Bergen, olden, and flam. It was a magnificent cruise and as a long time disney cruiser, I think I’ll be going on Royal Caribbean more. I hope you enjoyed your cruise!
Sailed many times on the Anthem out of New York- one of our favorite cruise ships. Funny enough, have never done the bumper cars. Good thing you had good weather- we've sailed down the US east coast with a side wind to the ship, and it moved really oddly. Messed with quite a few people. BTW, the props for WWRY are from the West End performance. Love that show so very much!
I'm always glad to see a review on RC ships. Those are a dream for me, whilst too pricy for me for now. I love my previous MSC cruises, but I'm quite aware that RC (and many others) are just waaaaaay up-quality. Thanks for the trip and have a nice summer 🙂 We are waiting to embark on CFC Renaissance in ockober, it's a 100% french new company, but lately, it had better and better review. So I'm quite curious to see. I don't know if you've heard of it, Emma ? If not, I'd be happy to report once our cruise is done 🙂
Happy to hear you and your family enjoyed your trip! Just a small correction; you said that Stavanger was the most populated place that you visited on your trip and that it's the 3rd largest city in Norway. Both of those claims are wrong. It's actually the 4th largest city, while Bergen that you visited on your first stop is the 2nd largest city in Norway with almost twice the population of Stavanger.
Indeed! People who don't wash their hands before going into any buffet (on land or ship) or for that matter, don't wash their hands properly after using their toilet (this goes for men as well, even though they only hold their dangler), those people should just get to walk the plank and not be allowed in public 😵💫
@@ReyOfLight Agreed. The bathroom is the bathroom!!! Ppl that think I washed my hands after the bathroom but have been in the elevator, touched their face, or there cruise card need to wash your hands. I wish I could have given two thumps up for your comment on the enforcement of hand washing!!! We and several other guests caught a bug on our Alaska cruise a few months back because of those that feel hand washing is optional! So gross. 🤮

Thank you for showing me all the fun stuff to do with kids on Anthem OTS. I have a group going on her next May (2025) & now I will enjoy the roller skating, Northstar, bumper cars & iFly. We have several younger folks coming with us & these will make our Alaska cruise so fun. Also, a few of them are in your virtual inside cabin, which look so neat, I know they will enjoy them. Norway is beautiful & someday I will hopefully cruise there. Cheers Emma.
What a wonderful price for Royal - well done for finding that one! I've cruised on a couple of Royal ships, but I think I'd really like this one - she looks like SUCH a cute mini (!) version of the Oasis class giants!
I'm still waiting for the day when a cruise ship has to charge you for the extra cookies. "Ma'am, I'm sorry, but you're at your cookie limit. We have to cut you off."
Anthem of the Seas is a fantastic ship. The ship size is perfect with loads to do without being overwhelmed. A favourite spot of ours was sat at the bar in Two70.
EMMA!!! Like me, you are a serious foodie and we're both obsessed with the quality of food onboard. How do you stay so thin despite your love for good eats and Pepsi? 🤭 😂
Thank you so much for this Emma. I want to take my two granddaughters on a cruise adventure. I'm loyal to P&O but seeing what Royal Caribbean offer is amazing. I think I'm about to 'jump ship.' 😊
"I didn't come here to doge, I came here to bump" 😂. Sounds like this was an absolute blast trip, at an absolute stellar price, for everyone with loads of entertainment of all kinds to suit everyone's likes. How tired were you with all of the extra activities or are you just as active but participating in more activities geared towards adults?
Perfect timing of this video. I am currently try to book a transatlantic cruise with 4 days in Norway before disembarkation in Rotterdam. Looking forward to Norway. May have to take Captain Hudson with me.
Emma- I feel sympathy for your nieces that their only cruises have been besieged by bad weather. You should consider taking your nieces on a few Caribbean cruises in or around Jan - March, since that is when the weather is on it's BEST behavior. We typically go on Caribbean cruises around January because it is still cool (70's F) due to the recently ended Winter season. Don't ever go there during our Summer season, July - Aug is the worst time! (Peak of Hurricane season). You might also want to consider taking them to DISNEY World park, around Spring, for same reason..WEATHER! :)
I love your videos! But here are some technicalities: 23:18 - Stavanger is the 4th largest city in Norway, not the 3rd. It has around 146k. Although the population with the city of Sandnes makes the area third with 234k. Bergen however has around 280k and is the second largest city... so that was your biggest city on this trip. Stavanger is nicest tho :)
Emma, when I worked for Teakdecking Systems, out of Sarasota Florida, I loved working on RCI ships because of their buffet. They always had the best food. I miss those days as it was in the late '90s to 2000.
Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. (NYSE: RCL, OSE: RCL) is a Norwegian-American global cruise company based in Miami, Florida. lol… I back Emma .. up the ketchup .. I have it on Sunday roast as well 👍. Happy cruising to you fella . 👍🚣♂️
@@krysab6125 I didn’t!! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
I usually watch these videos at the end of the day to wind down and relax before bed, so the double take I made @27:35 was extra startling lol
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I am with 100% on the hand washing before eating. I was on a HAL cruise in June, and the number of people (the majority) who just walked right past the hand washing station was mind boggling and disheartening.
Your cruise looks like it was a lot of fun. Thank you for sharing it with us.
2:59 We always book back-to-back cruises and only need to purchase the soda package for the first cruise. The cups' electronic chip is programmed to expire 2 weeks after activation.
GENIUS!! 😂❤🎉
I agree about Norway. Truely stunning country that is so easy to recommend. I want to go back soon and head quite far north to the arctic circle.
The best isn't it?! I have taken a couple of ones up to Alta, amazing. Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
But yeah, often a huge surprise for foreigners visiting the country)
Many Norwegians who happen to live close to the Swedish border, often come over to Swedish border towns just to do some shopping, candy and such is especially popular.
Just remember to bring mosquito repellant if you're going in the summer.
I would 100% do the Ultimate World Cruise since it is on Royal Caribbean❤❤
Been watching you a little while, your videos are great but you’re the only other person I know who likes ketchup with their pizza! I might never go on a cruise but I’ll always support a fellow ketchup appreciator!!! 😂❤
You’re a gem, thank you for sharing with all of us!
YESSS!!! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Donuts are a breakfast food in the US. Not an everyday one, but yes thats a breakfast pastry.
This past spring we did a transatlantic on Anthem to Southampton and it was so much fun. The few children on board were behaved and it was a wonderful ship.
That sounds amazing!! ❤❤❤
I was just in Alaska on Royal Caribbean last week. SUCH a great cruise and experience. The RC crew are always so friendly and helpful!!
Sounds amazing 🎉❤ Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
@@EmmaCruises ❤❤❤
Aaaaw, I enjoyed this perspective as I have a 13 yr old and a 9 year old and can see how they can be entertained. Thank you!!
OMG! Anthem of seas mind blowing inside and out! 🌺🛳️🩵🩵🩵🌺🌞🌊🛳️🩵🩵🌺🌊🌊🌺🌞🌞🌞🌞
This comment sums it up nciely😂 ❤
The buffet on the Quantum class of ships is the best design I've seen while cruising. The seating on the windows is separated from the buffet in the middle by a large open concourse that has no pinch points. Very handicap friendly, unlike Allure of the Seas where the buffet islands are in the middle of the concourse, forcing all traffic through the same space. Had trouble with my mom's scooter on that ship.
Ooo, good to know. Yes I love the layout! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
“Doughnuts are breakfast food for some reason.”
I am genuinely confused as to what else doughnuts would be.
Definitely not breakfast in the Uk- just a snack or dessert like any other cake or cookie
Coffee food
Any time of day food
Cake, they’re a circle of cake 😂❤
We cruised to Norway on the Anthem two years ago. It was an amazing cruise and we really enjoyed the ship. Thanks for sharing this review... it brought back a lot of great memories.
i love this!! i love all your videos but a someone loyal to royal, i love seeing it from your perspective!! 🎉
Sailed Anthem with my 8yo son 2 times! Love the indoor pool and activities when there is bad weather.
Sounds good! 😁🥳
Along with the unsung awesomeness of the inside cabin, the other thing you've turned me on to is ketchup on pizza. I can't get enough!
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Pizza & Catsup???? no No NO NO NO !!!!!!!! 😲
Don't put ketchup on anything, ask for a bit of marinara sauce for pizza.
Yesss Iona was one of the ships my nieces came on before. They liked both ❤🎉
“Zimmer frame” - a new Britishism for me
Hope your nieces had a wonderful cruise! Hope all is okay with you and your family.
This looks and sounds like a perfect cruise for me.
@@EmmaCruises We had an amazing time, thank you! Thanks for all your videos! They are absolutely brilliant! 🥰❤️
Excellent video as always Emma! Also good to know that Royal Caribbean offers a wide variety of pay per view options on their TVs 🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Emma you need a t-shirt with " give all the cookies and no one will get hurt"😅
I can’t make that promise!! Kidding 😂😂😂😂
As always, glad you found your cookies! Thank you for another fun video!
Thank you! 😁❤️
@@Abitimus Making exceptions for the disabled is fine. Creating an elite class of passengers that goes to the head of the bumper car line is not, imo.
Hope you had a great time 🎉❤
27:34 lol Em are you sending out spicy subliminal messages 🤣🤣🤣 XXX
Sailed many times on the Anthem out of New York- one of our favorite cruise ships. Funny enough, have never done the bumper cars. Good thing you had good weather- we've sailed down the US east coast with a side wind to the ship, and it moved really oddly. Messed with quite a few people.
BTW, the props for WWRY are from the West End performance. Love that show so very much!
❤️❤️❤️
You are the perfect auntie! What a lovely adventure for your nieces
"I was here to win, not to go easy on the kids" LOLOL honestly I would be the same...
It's always nice to cruise with friends and family.
Stunning! You save a lot by not buying booze packages!
Interesting choices on the tv at the end.
love this Emma. love knowing the reactions of your nieces.
They had the best time ❤🎉
I'm always glad to see a review on RC ships.
Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Agreed!!! No washee washee, Please exit the ship off the back. 😂
YES! ha ha. Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Worked in the food industry for many years it doesn’t matter wash your hands before entering!!!! You have touched something I promise you.
I wish I could have given two thumps up for your comment on the enforcement of hand washing!!! We and several other guests caught a bug on our Alaska cruise a few months back because of those that feel hand washing is optional! So gross. 🤮
Emma, y'know who does scones right? HAL! They have a variety of spreads & always have clotted, whipped cream, too. Wow! You looked stunning on formal night 🌶Norway is on my list of cruises I'd like to try. It looks beautiful & I'd luv 2 try a kayak excursion. Hope you got to see some wildlife???
Mmmmmmm that sounds lovely! 😍❤️ Didn’t see any on this trip.
I went to Norway with HAL summer 2023 and did a kayak excursion in Næroyfjord, near Flåm. I highly recommend it, was lucky with the weather too👌🏻
MAJOR congrats on raising over 100k with Captain Hudson! Tremendous work Emma!
Spectra's is one of my favorite 270 shows! Got to see it a couple of times with a different cast (of course). Anthem was a great ship!
You will have the best time ever!!! ❤❤❤❤
Fantastic video, well done Aunty Emma! Brought back memories of my cruise on this lively ship, especially the Solarium and dodgems!
We did this cruise last year, 28 degrees in Bergen for us, never known it that hot 🥵 Back on next month for the Canaries 🚢
Last time I went on royal johnny rockets served breakfast and it was included. Lunch was $10 but unlimited so worth it.
Beautiful, beautiful. Thank-you for taking me along.
Hey hey! Thanks for following along with my cruise, really appreciate it 😀❤️
"I didn't come here to doge, I came here to bump" 😂. Sounds like this was an absolute blast trip, at an absolute stellar price, for everyone with loads of entertainment of all kinds to suit everyone's likes. How tired were you with all of the extra activities or are you just as active but participating in more activities geared towards adults?
Wasn’t anymore tired than usual, usually I cover a lot more ground in the ports but we had smaller legs with us so it all cancelled out 😂❤
Ooh I'd like to do a crusie with my hubby and 3 kids. Always enjoy your videos 😊
I love scones. You had me at ice cream being included.
Perfect timing of this video. I am currently try to book a transatlantic cruise with 4 days in Norway before disembarkation in Rotterdam. Looking forward to Norway. May have to take Captain Hudson with me.
Emma-
I feel sympathy for your nieces that their only cruises have been besieged by bad weather.
It makes me happy when Emma post something thanks Emma
It makes me happy when you post Noah! ❤❤
I love your videos! But here are some technicalities:
23:18 - Stavanger is the 4th largest city in Norway, not the 3rd. It has around 146k. Although the population with the city of Sandnes makes the area third with 234k. Bergen however has around 280k and is the second largest city... so that was your biggest city on this trip. Stavanger is nicest tho :)
Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Emma, when I worked for Teakdecking Systems, out of Sarasota Florida, I loved working on RCI ships because of their buffet. They always had the best food. I miss those days as it was in the late '90s to 2000.

We Will Rock You is such a fun musical!
Friend and her family are on that cruise right now i just sent her the video!
People who don't wash their hands after the toilet should be made to walk the plank. Disembarked is far too kind :)
Ha ha. Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
