    You have done a splendid job on something that is very difficult for many home machinists, that is, getting bearings to line up so smoothly, they seem to flow effortlessly. This is by far the smoothest-running fake engine I have ever seen.

    Similar to an electronic RLC circuit. Resonance between the inertial moments of the flywheel and spring produce optimal feedback, like pushing someone on a swing with only a light touch.

      Well done. But there is another factor involved. The wheel is oscillating vertically in the gravitational field.
      It is getting energy out of that field. Think about it.
      Think about the implications.
      Now go and look at mooieenergie.nl . and find some of
      the pages they have deleted because they realised they
      had revealed too much.

    The strength in this design is in the fact that it works with the difference in tension of the spring. The flywheel pushes the spring down at is farest (weakest) point and the spring pushes the flywheel back up on the shortest (stronger) point. Works only in one direction. and the power is also very weak. Nice work though! ;-)

    So. Is the purpose of the spring and weight to regulate the speed? Because the flywheel itself is storing the energy provided from the initial push.. seems like the spring would just cause unnecessary friction... unless thre purpose were to regulate the speed... which would come at thecost of that added friction.

    I found this very fascinating ! A few months ago I did a simulation in Working Model with a flywheel and a spring and I was astounded to find that the wheel accelerated, albeit slowly.

    • @sailingsolar2371
      @sailingsolar2371 4 года назад +2

      It accelerated due to forces generated by the split tongue. Not widely factored in.

      @@lightswitchromo4393 Hello Lightswitch, yes, that was quite a while ago. As I mentioned it was only a simulation though. Working model's operation is based on real world situations but in my case I can only guess the acceleration came about because of some small error in the program's mathematics.

    Interesting ! Hmm, normally it should stop due to friction !

  • @SOPM2007
    @SOPM2007 8 лет назад +3

    I was thinking about it but can't tell why it should work. On the one hand the spring plate is lighter to push down when the leverage is larger but on the other hand, when the crank is pushed upwards while the leverage is shorter and the push stronger, the leverage of the flywheel isn't the same so finally, with material friction involved, we got less than zero net gain...

    • @TheRealToaster2
      @TheRealToaster2 8 лет назад +3

      It is lighter to push down on the farther end, and harder to push down when shorter, but you forgot that it takes energy to decrease the length of the leverage. The lever not only applies an upward force, but also a horizontal force which is opposite to the direction the peg is moving. So the theoretical input force equals the output force if friction was ignored.
      Perpetual motion machines will never work, even in theoretical conditions, because nothing would be better than just letting a flywheel spin on its own. These machines are just illusions, because they hide the equal and opposite force and make it hard to point out.

    So, very cool, but notice that when he is moving the object, there is a white circle on the table that is very obviously stays within. My guess is there is something under the table of sorts. I think the device would work, but slow down in time from friction. The speeding up...hmm.....reverse spring below? Not sure.

    The simple fact of physics is you don’t get nowt for owt ......meaning you do not get something for nothing ....if you watch the video carefully you will notice
    1. The flywheel accelerates as soon as the Crank pin touches the spring(indicating that it is powered by a motor)
    2. The gentleman rotates the whole divide around an axis indicating that there are wires coming through the table.
    3. The gentleman is very careful to position the crank pin as far away from the spring as possible this is to stop it accidentally triggering the motors.
    4. The two Aluminium spacers look very much like brushless cd drive motors.
    And lastly you cannot ignore the laws of physics.

    A rare piece of ingenuity. It's got the Victorian era written all over it, with a small dose of Steptoe and Son. I like that.
    There might be a way to extract energy from this device... given that it does actually defy Newton's first law (there are many devices that have done this).
    Step 1/ Extend the drive shaft and affix a permanent ring of 12 rotor magnets...
    Step 2/ Then place a stator wreath of 9 copper coils (configured properly, ala Tesla 3 phase) very close to the rotor, as in face to face, and hey presto! free electricity A.d. infinitum.
    Get onto it Bailywick1, the race is on.
    I want to see some results for my two cents worth.
    Well done old boy!
    P.S. Every new idea is always met with skepticism... tell 'em to take a hike.

    What's going on here?! It's a wheel spinning because he spins it, adding rotational energy. It's not an engine, it's a wheel.
    The spring doesn't add energy, it take some energy to be pushed down and then add some energy when it springs back, but the net energy is always a loss.

    It would be interesting to see a larger scale model, and se if it also runs when it’s bigger and stronger, that way there could be some kind of potential for a motor that could be strong enough to actually give out some energy, without running out of it too fast itself, sure it might only run for a few minutes, before having to restart it, but long enough to charge a battery a bit, without having to put too much muscle energy into it.

    "Lets give a spin and away it goes"- well not without quickly getting his left hand to reposition the baseplate, ( at 1min 47secs into the video) whereupon the device picks up speed... Listen carefully and you will hear some whispered advice too shortly after that. What if the 'weight' concealed a strong magnet and there was also a pulsing magnetic system out of view below the surface upon which he is operating the device. My guess is that would account for the manual intervention and repositioning to get the best effect. "What do you think of that" he says. A pity !

Nothing of this has happened, so my guess is he is cheating, the easiest way being simply an electric motor hidden from the camera.
      In any case, to decide if it is real or not, we would need the complete apparatus, information on the principle of functioning, and instructions on how to disassemble, reassemble, and start it up. Otherwise, we can only speculate.

    I see a potential to make energy with this idea ..by using multiple springs and may be an automotive camshaft or similar by using a v8 cam shaft and a small engine flywheel you could possibly use the flywheel and its original alternator to generate electricity in stead of 1 spring you could have 16 times the power out put you could even possibly use rollers on the springs to reduce friction ? This could be a really interesting power source.. I love the pendulum weight idea as a way to fine tune the pressure applied

    I think it will run much faster if you put a piece of teflon tubing on the crank pin! Yeah, that's it! Uh huh. LOL!

      +ZeroFossilFuel if your suggesting to reduce the friction while compressing the spring, sure, maybe add a little light weight oil.

      rmendes2 No, I'm "suggesting" that the crank pin is a nothing more than a commutator and the spring metal the brush. Please open your eyes.

    I've seen it replicated as a small-scale model all plastic with metal flywheel, glued assembled in front of you no batteries, no wires, no motors and it did the same thing. How long I don't know? Easy to do. Must have a go.

    Ould you attach a very lightweight coil to the spring that moves past a fixed magnet?? If it can be done it might just generate a tiny amount of current. If your intrigued get in touch and we'll talk about it.

    It makes sence to me BECAUSE it hits the spring at the end and then after center it gets more power Because its farther back the spring flex point the end is like a long pry bar how long it will run i dont know but spins one direction ONLY

      He dont get more power, the energy needed to spring load it cant be less than the energy it will release, this is physics 101. Dont be fooled

    what do you mean by spare energy? that is great!!

  • @grawss
    @grawss 8 лет назад +2

    You can power this with a few copper coils inside the bearing and a battery hidden within the system. It's fairly low friction, so you should be able to do it with a very tiny battery. That's assuming he didn't put electricity through the table it's on, since it does appear to be metal and he suspiciously moves it within one exact spot on the table.

    Nice looking concept, but this ain't real for two reasons (1.) The man in the video would have mass produced this to generate useful energy (2.) The principle of energy conservation, there is no resultant energy created. The crank pin rotates and LOOSES energy as it pushes down the spring, the same amount of energy or less is what it GAINS from the spring as the spring pushes it up.

    Oh hold on, it would have to be the other way round so's the coil doesn't move. That way the current can be fed easily from the coil without causing too much bother

    This idea obviously works because those old watches ran about a week after winding them up, just use this to make electricity.

    • @jason_willis
      @jason_willis 4 года назад

      Don't get trolled by the no free energy arguments, you just want the machine to efficiently use the energy you put into it. Wind it up a couple times and have it run a very long time generating electricity.

    I think that the acceleration is obtained by gravity that is joined to the plate.the burden created by the rotation of the flywheel pressure plate down so easily that speed fall significantly but not to stop the flywheel So be under the influence of gravity even slightly bounces so that the sheet will try to return to its original state ... BUT already created a momentum of gravity that is joined to the platethus increasing the chances of the flywheel to go free next 75% as momentum will even got to do the same pressure and so in the way of work is gained 0.01% which gives him the chance to continue its work (google translate)
