He was sitting there pretending he was the victim saying he didn't want to fight after starting the fight asking for it "Let's go" as he face washed him. Like most of the enforcers he's a bit of an odd character and most likely the "Warrior Gene"
yeah I liked that. That one comment goes pretty deep into the enforcer lifestyle, often overlooked. These guys are normal people, that was the role they had to take to move up, many of these guys were ringers when they were 14. And no, they dont wanna go 5 times a night, its emotionally brutal.

So - to recap. He gets absolutely destroyed by a bodycheck = Fights but gives up a power play. They score on that PP. He gets out of the box = tries to lay the body and gets destroyed. Barely sees the ice in the third, and his only chance he misses the net = by a mile.
But he is a beauty.
I don't get the praise either.. he's got an infectious personality and certainly fires his team up but his skills seem sub par at best!

Love seeing Amesbury’s passion for sport and his team. Great fighter. But he has no skill as a hockey player. I would absolutely light him up. I’ll scatter his teeth all over the ice given the opportunity. He can’t go cheesebar like me. He can’t skate like me. Hit like me. Or knock people like me. I was never given a fair shake in hockey. But I guarantee you right now, if that opportunity came knocking, I would make this dude proud knowing there was still some warrior pride out there. Seems like one hell of a guy. Id love to have the opportunity to showcase the skill and give Amesbury a run for his money. All due respect.
