- Welcome back to another live game hunting episode where I go around charity shops, pawn shops, CEX anywhere I can find games and game related awesomeness!
We’ll also be looking for anything we don’t need for the collection to either trade into CEX for in store credit or to sell for a profit on eBay to help build the collection.
This time we’re going to be hunting in my first love, charity shops! It’s so often you can go around tons of charity shops only to find absolutely nothing, but it’s that one time when you stumble across a gold mine that makes it all worth while - and that’s exactly what happens this time!
I found a veritable bounty of Xbox 360 games both for the collection and to trade into CEX as well as an absolute gem of a game for the Wii that I never knew about and which I can’t believe the trade in value for!
This time we’ll be hitting up my new favourite charity shop not once, but three times as I just seem to keep scoring here as well as going around some of my more local charity shops in the hunt for retro gold and amazing things to add to my constantly foreign collection!
So strap in for a wild ride around the constantly changing charity shop scene and comment below with your best recent charity shops find but mainly never forget when it comes to charity shop hunting keep the faith and e ever give up as you never know what’s just a round the corner!

Recently found a box of video games under in a box under a bookshelf in a charity shop, a lot of PS2 and DS stuff. The DS games were all shovelware priced at £2.50 so I was gonna leave them. Then I got to the back of the box and they had Ocarina of Time 3D for £2. I was buzzing off that, and then I opened it and not only was the game in there, but it also had Super Mario 3D Land and Nintendogs carts in there.
Wow that’s an awesome find and it’s worth checking the boxes of some of the shovelware games for this very reason! I remember when I opened a £1 copy of Metroid Prime and it has a DS Kirby game inside!

mostly find fifa in my area of charity shops. CEX doesn't seem to take fifa in only for PlayStation 5 and Xbox series x/s
Yeah unfortunately it does seem like charity shops are where fifa games go to die sadly

Realy good pick ups on the games mate thats why i keep going into my local charity shops as u never know

Charity shops haven't a clue of the value of things. I've noticed that. Few old ladies doing their part - selling a few bits n pieces. I've found some PS1 games thrown in with CDs. Less than a quid.
@@snufftherooster93 it seems more these days they do seem to check the prices I’ve seen a few with the exact prices for games as they sell for in CEX
@@DanTheGamesMan - Not too bad here in Ireland, but it's definitely getting worse. Same goes for cex. They're starting to sell at ebay prices now..
@@snufftherooster93 yeah it’s a worrying trend unfortunately. I’ve basically stopped buying off eBay now as the prices are obsurd!
Oh that is gutting, I'm after need for speed underground and midnight club for the PS2, not seen any PS2 games in my recycling center for months!!!

@@DanTheGamesMan Yes don’t want to miss the bus, but sometimes some games should be bought when seen if they are rare and collectible such as the Godzilla game on the PS3 or ps4. It’s a tricky call as some games you don’t see again in the wild for a decent price. As a rule I try to pick up horror games and shoot em ups within first 2 years of release when they are reduced!
@@NotMoreGames yeah it’s really hard to know when the right time to buy is, it’s also getting rarer that I’ll buy a game on release date, it’s has to be very special for me to commit day one
That's a great haul. The patience truly paid off. The grudge? Like, fucking really? That's rad.
And you prose a good question. What is gonna happen to all them sports titles like fifa? I actively avoid sports titles and will pass on handles if there are too many.
And too many is pretty close to a negative value.

That ssx Blur looks good. I loved those games back in the day.

The biggest problem with charity is delusion, they price up games and other items as they see it like oh it is fifa got to be £3 as its fifa, but its fifa 2008. I hate seeing inflated prices, I just walk out and not buy anything. I buy my clothes from charity too as I am a tight ass and I only really want to spend a few quid an item, asking for more than that is ludicrous. I love going to small time charity shops in my village of all places where you can get 10 for a pound on almost anything
I believe the best way for charity shops to make money is to price low, that way people are more likely to buy things and things also spend less time of the shelves, they, hopefully, have a consistent stream of donations which means then they make more money

Nice pickups there mate esp that black ops, I also had a brilliant Nintendo DS game haul from one of my local charity shops recently. That Graphics card looks like a good one as it is 2gb but its not worth 50 as its only about 30 on ebay. I think 15-20 for it would have been fair from a charity shop.

It’s getting less and less common to find sealed Xbox 360 games now and for a quid I had to grab it!

@@DanTheGamesMan My challenge is trying to find all sim games missing 2 ds or gba games completed all the sim one games in my list missing some sims 2 missing alot of sins 3 and sims 4 they won't stop making new stuff I keep falling behind 😂

I don’t sell anything I don’t already have in the collection for that very reason. I always have sellers remorse!
Puts me right off high game prices in charity shops, I went in one yesterday £5 for 360 sports games 🤮
Yeah it’s a shame as they will probably sit there forever at those prices, £1 is the best!
How can cex get away with giving on a digital ps5 a quarter of its value practically in cash and the same nearly one third for xbox series s. Youd have to be crazy to sell to them or seriously desperate. Yet they charge full retail new price for it. Its robbery.
I’ll admit it is crazy the difference they make in profit for consoles, especially in the early days of the PS5 when you couldn’t get one for love or money!

The GTX 670 at £50 is over priced. £25-£35 is a more reasonable amount unless you are desperate.
