What’s wrong with my front differential? Gx470 IFS

- In this episode, we tear into Chase's GX470 to see what's going on with his front end. This thing has been plagued with broken axles (3) over the last couple months and we can't seem to figure out what is going on. Let us know if you have any ideas!

I don't know if it's just the video, but the axle tube for the passenger side seems a little wonky. I don't know how that's even possible but maybe?
Either way looking forward to seeing what you find out 😂.
Also obligatory solid axle conversion comment.
In what way?
Looks kind of like there's a slight curve to the axle tube, but I don't think that would be enough to drop the axle that much on the passenger side. Also not sure how it could be and the inner output shaft not contact the axle tube.
I could just be wanting to see it though 😂

I just removed my front diff (thanks to your video) to get access to my oil pans. Got an oil pump O-ring leak so I’m going through that whole fun process.
Looks like the housing is sitting lower on that side. The mounts don’t look bent but are for sure different heights. I would think the drop spacers would need to adjusted so housing is level.
Yeah the diff drop spacers are identical in size though so it shouldn’t tweak the diff at all
Get rid of diff drop, there is not one scenario where the pro outweighs the con
I don’t see how that would fix the issue though and may be harder to diagnose the problem as id now be changing another variable.
Did you have the diff drop before you went LT?
Yep have always had a diff drop. Probably 4-5yrs
@@TwoTrackNationSick I might have to throw the one I have on. My CV angle makes me wanna cry and I’m only 2.5” lifted
