For anyone who thinks Miku doesn't add much to Band-Maid's sound, back this up to about 3:20 and let it play. She drops out at about 3:28. Did you notice anything go missing? She comes in again at 4:10. Did you notice how full the sound got? Did you notice her standing on the riser behind Akane, at the bottom of that gigantic video board? Muscular Pigeon is muscular!
@@sharksarecool6717 Yes of course. I just like how it magnifies MISA's bass when she drops out, and how it thickens the soup when she comes back in. It happens a lot in their music, and I like it here. Miku thinks sharks are cool, too!
@@surfingasongwave I think this was a nice catch and a good demonstration of the value of having a rhythm guitar pigeon. Even if we all knew that already. When she did not play, that was, of course, intentional. It was to let the solos shine.
An to think they had performed 26 other songs before this and 6 more after. Some people don't realize how hard they work. Best thing in music that has happened to me was when I checked out "Thrill" nearly 4 years ago .... have never looked back. Thanx John ... awesome
I've never been to a concert before, prior to this show. This duel/conversation absolutely blew my mind when I witnessed it. It blew me away again when saw them in HongKong a month later 🤯
One reactor made the interesting observation that the Kanami/Misa duel sounds like an argument between a man and woman to go with the lyrics, and that's an astute and plausible observation.
Hi, John, this is BM-CD member pohojisan. I was surprised that you were in Japan just before this Yokohama Arena OKYUJI and did not come to this historic concert, but this is not your only "lifelong regret". As you probably know, the extra (spin-off) OKYUJI in February of this year had 20 of the 23 songs that were not performed at this Yokohama Arena OKYUJI, which was just as amazing as the Yokoari's one. If you are a BAND-MAID fan, this is another "regret of a lifetime" for you (LOL), as it was full of rare and precious performances that you may never hear live again (Especially, because at this time, too!!! you were in Japan for Nemophila's Budokan concert right before this one, right? LOL). Anyway, I'm also going to post my comment here as well, which I wrote elsewhere. For those who have already read it, I am very sorry. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This special G vs. B battle version of "HATE?" is thought to have been originally arranged as a highlight of the Lollapalooza Chicago stage performance last August. As a special version, it was first performed at Shinjuku OKYUJI (gig) in July last year before going to the U.S. At that and the following Niigata OKYUJI, it was performed as a medley (Drum solo in between) with "Unfair game". However, since the following Shizuoka OKYUJI, including Lollapalooza, all the performances have been performed as a medley relay (as the same Drum solo in between) from "DICE," and now it has become the biggest attraction at BAND-MAID gigs (Unfair game, DICE, and HATE?, all have the same BPM180). I heard this special version of "HATE?" a total of 14 times at the venue. All of them were so amazing that they gave me goosebumps, but especially the performance at Yokohama Arena OKYUJI of this MV was the final show of their 10th anniversary tour, their monumental event in front of an audience of about 8,000 people, so the quality of the performance, the enthusiasm, and the excitement of the audience were all extraordinary. (By the way, their performance that day was an out-of-the-ordinary one, as they played more than 3 hours and 30 minutes and 33 songs in total, and this "HATE?" was the 27th song they played.) Now that this MV has been released to the world, I hope that BAND-MAID and this performance will be widely recognized by music fans all over the world as something that will remain forever in the history of rock music.
I said this on another channel but, just when you think you can’t love these ladies anymore they do this! ❤ I love how they have taken advantage of this stage setup with this concert. I’m so genuinely happy for them! 😀 Did you catch Miku coming in with those chords near the end of the duet section? Subtle but very interesting. A these lyrics are harsh lol! 😊
Anyone who doesn't LOVE this STUNNING performance possesses a soul that has died! North American and European music industry people: embrace this group completely, or carry you loathsome sins to your graves!!
Such an awesome performance. I love that Kanami has her eyes closed where you said she was being so precise, she is that good ! I bet Saiki loves singing this song, she wrote the lyrics !
Band Maid just crushed it this is history in the making so happy they got to be able to shine like this they truly deserved it and was long overdue just wish i could have been there for this❤😊
ATTENTION: Adele, T Swift, A Morrisette et al. Now THAT's a friggin breakup song!!! " Ten minutes of limp gymnastics" hot damn but that line slays me every time, lol. Talk about the "gap". it's hilarious that these lyrics are 360 degrees away from their usual totally uplifting lyrics and I just LOVE it ( or do I Hate?- so confusing! )
yes Sai-chan was P.O.ed when she wrote this, and like i said in your last video as good as they all are, its time to pull the 2 monsters out of the corners, let Akane put a foundation under it and turn them loose
That's a fair regret. If it was a real option for me to go at all it would have been at the top of my list for sure. I hope they give Influencer it's due live. I think it is a much better song live than in studio. It's a song built to make the crowd jump above all else.
I think this is the best version of HATE? And I feel that way for almost every song they performed that evening. Saw them in Portland and Spokane in August and knew I had to be there to share in the celebration. The ladies were on fire and everyone was an emotional wreck by the end of the night. So proud of what they have accomplished and so waiting for what's next!!
With all the Japanese music you've been reacting to, I still don't think you've gotten around to *Asterism* yet, have you? Sure, they are not that big, but Haruka is one of the few female guitarists that I think outperform Kanami. _Dawn_ would be the obvious first song to try: ruclips.net/video/buQPvINJcA0/видео.htmlsi=FSUon6oz29s4Qt5L
Bottom line, don't piss off Saiki or you end up in a song. Saiki wrote this when the husband of her friend Lisa (the singer) was discovered cheating on her and it created a huge scandal in the press.
Shout out to Akane for the brilliant drum support during the solos

That stuff is old news now. Anyone who doesn't recognize Miku's contribution must be someone living in 2013.

The Maids were on absolute 🔥🔥🔥 during this concert!
Band-Maid lyrics are always so positive.
In this case, Saiki is positive she hates you.
Whoever it is that Saiki hates, she positively hates that person with one heck of a passion. Wouldn't want to be that said person......
You'd have to fuckup real bad for Saiki to hate you...
Saiki on the upper deck in front of the storm clouds at 2:35 is a fantastic image.
5 rock and roll shield maidens conducting a direct frontal assault on stale, male western rock. What a fcken band Po 👍🍻
JOHN!!!!!! YOU WON DIMASH CONTEST TO THE UPCOMING CONCERT!!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉 IM SO HAPPY FOR YOU CONGRATULATIONS MY FRIEND!!!!!❤

Missing that is also one of my big regrets, and I wasn't even in Japan!
What can I say? They are simply amazing and engaging. I love Band Maid and everything they do, this one along with Youth are two of my favorites!
I've never been to a concert before, prior to this show. This duel/conversation absolutely blew my mind when I witnessed it. It blew me away again when saw them in HongKong a month later 🤯
Only 13 days until the DVD of this gig arrives! So looking forward to watching its many hours of fun and the best music on Earth over and over!

The Maids are spoiling us!
That's two epic bass v guitar battles in a row!
What's next, Choose Me with Saiki on piano?
Yes, please!🤘🫶
lol yeah, I never realized just how hard those lyrics go until this video with the translation lined up to the music. Saiki doesn't hold back! 😆

@@ericifune5543 Hi, Eric, when can I see you next in Japan?
@@pohojisan1287 I'm planning on seeing Gacharic Spin and Doll$Boxx in December.
Akane's double pedal throughout the entire song though... I know some metal drummers would have problems copying her patterns.
