    The people who are most relieved that he took an NFL job are........the Ohio st coach's and fan base. He basically had turned Michigan into a semi-pro team....and there was no one in the BIG that could handle what he had built. I can assure you there is a tremendous sigh of relief at OSU and across the Big Ten conference.

    JH was exploring NFL opportunities after the 2021 and 22 seasons, before finally accepting the chargers job post-2023. i have no ill-will for JH - 3 straight wins against OSU, 3 straight Big 10 titles, a natty, probably gonna have 15+ drafted in April, etc

    • @arthurfonzarelli9828
      @arthurfonzarelli9828 9 месяцев назад +3

      Yeah it's hard to be mad at the guy and he's left not burning any bridges but it sucks knowing the Michigan football program can only go down from here. It's inevitable as they took a Hall of Fame level coach and replaced them with a guy who's never done this before. Not to mention there is nowhere to go but down and considering Michigan has made things so difficult on their coaches in this new college football environment the odds are highly stacked against anyone taking this job and I think harbaugh knew it as well

    • @RedWingsninetyone
      @RedWingsninetyone 9 месяцев назад

      @@arthurfonzarelli9828it depends how you look at it. "Nowhere to go but down" is very vague. "down" could literally be one loss and a national championship again. "Down" could be losing in the national championship game. 15-0 and a national championship are not sustainable things year over year. It doesn't have to mean the sky is falling and suddenly we're .500 or worse next season.

    The fact that he wanted to go to the NFL tells you something. Nothing that Michigan could have done to keep, I think the Michigan fans can accept. However, the fact that Michigan's final offer came after the interview with the Chargers is inexcusable. You knew that Jim Harbaugh for all his good qualities is a bit of a primadona. He needs to feel that he is loved and supported. Giving him your best offer upfront 2022 end of CY, would have gone a long way to feel appreciated. He still might have left but at least we can say that Michigan did everything to keep him. As is, I think that the Mich Admin is neither sufficient aligned nor proactive enough. I keep getting seeing picture of Inspector Cleuseau when I think of the atheletic department.

Yet Jim was ready back then to take the helm in 2008, why did it not happen? alum and NFL QB with some successes, he was the preeminent prime candidate. Yet RR was chosen and derailed the program in 3 short years with a 15-22 record. Prior to this some scorn was thrown around publicly by Jim comments regarding Michigan's academic program for athletes (compared to Stanford's) that was seen as traitorous. After RR was hired/fired Jim may have said to himself he may never coach at Michigan for the comments and stayed at Stanford then went to the next logical destination the 49ers to show he could make it on his own making a new path for himself. Then Michigan called again.

    Loyalty isn't in your programming, though, Huh. While I can appreciate your help getting Michigan going, you proved once again that you have no loyalty to anyone but yourself. I hope you never win a championship as an NFL head coach since you couldn't accept the great situation you had at Michigan. Another case of grass is greener syndrome. You will never, even with an NFL championship, replace the void of not winning a championship as a player...

    I don't buy the Lombardi trophy argument. Everyone knows the NFL is a dweeby league with dweeby fair-weather fans.

    JH had it all at Michigan and he threw it away to become just another NFL coach that is hated by your fan base unless your name is Dan Campbell.

    Because he was going to get a "show cause" and massive penalties from the NCAA....

      Some people just think they have all the answers!!! They won it fair and square!!! You must be from OSU mickelkobeck!!! Let go let God do what he wants to do! 70 Michigan players were baptized with this team this year! God was working with this team! You will never win fighting against God!!!

    I'm not upset that Harbaugh left Michigan, but I am upset that Michigan took on a diversity hire as his replacement. I'm sorry, but Sherrone Moore's resume is extremely weak.

    As an alum, I'm sad he left Michigan. We would have named him coach for life, built a 20 foot bronze statue of him in front of the Big House, hell even named him supreme god-emperor of the state with the right to sleep with any bride on her wedding night and name every first born son Jim.

    The NCAA is ruining football…Harbaugh is a casualty of this debacle!
