@@ethanjohnson8247 the system needs to take money from the wealthy so that the good poor people can also enjoy life a bit more . i'd say set up an account with a certain amount of weekly deposits just so he wont spend it all in one place and also to make sure the scammers do not take advantage of him . and buy him certain items to help make his life easier . :))

This is so inspiring. Every once in a while I watch this with my special needs daughter. So she can see that even the disabled can have their calling.
As a fellow Del rio citizen I can say we all truly love Chito he's part of the city and an amazing sweet person we all have a story about Chito my parents grew up with him so I know he's been a sweetheart all his life

I seriously wanted to give it a thumbs down, not because of Chito, but because all of the Texans not helping financially, this man is disabled and taking care of his mother, but I didn't hear of anyone even starting a GoFundMe account and giving him the money, he's cutting the city's grass, and they aren't even compensating him, this was hard to watch

I live in del rio and I used to always see him but never knew his name until I met him when I went to my friends house. my tkd training place sort of thing is also a church and when ever he comes by we offer him mcdonalds or something like that, and golden chick gives them free food.

I was born In del rio my dad said that a couple of years ago him and his friend were driving and apparently he had box and fell out his cart my dad and his friend help him and asked him if he needed a ride and of course he said no he's a hard working man and god blessed him it may not seem like it yet but when he is in heaven and he'll understand

Now there is a true saint. The city should give Chito a rider mower every year. Can you imagine how much mowing he could do, pain free, with a rider mower? It is very rare to find a person like Chito, who gives so much. God Bless him.

Great guy Chito - lovely soul. Pity it's such a superficial story. What are his living conditions? How is his mother who he supports? What are her living conditions? Why is everybody so excited about the town giving him an award? How about lobbying the city to PAY HIM SOMETHING for all his road work? How about helping him with his language problem and taking up a collection to give him a type-pad interface to communicate with people when he's lying in the street and unable to communicate his needs? (Assuming he can read and write) It's nice that he has support from friends and the tire station guy ... but it's seems there's a lot more the community can do aside from smiling and waving as they drive by.
