@@laurihulikkala3976 Then tell me why he is racing on the street? It revs super high so there is no problem with having boost this late. Also this turbo is pretty old. You can have boost earlier with a more modern turbo. It sure depends on other factors too!
I am currently building my 1jz to rev up to 10k rpm, but i cant find information about the stock oil pumps rev limit. Is this supra running a oem oil pump or dry sump? Thanks!
basically everything you can think of. The main thing that limits high rpm would be valve bounce so you'd need a good head job, rpm may be limited by how much the head can flow as well, and most likely a new camshaft would be needed (at least if you want to make any power at such high revs) harmonics may be a factor in weather you'll need a new crankshafts, you might be able to get away with just balancing it. depending on how much boost and power your making would decide if you NEED new pistons and rods(most people upgrade these). Other things to consider would be oil supply (and fuel), head studs, new mains bolts.
and btw i suppose that despite amazing sound, having 10k rpm engine combined with a big turbo with huge lag would widening the range of using the power. 5500 tp 10k... massive.
NoNoNoNii when you have top of the line engineering on such a machine for 25+ years in the after market. i’m certain there is properly put together machine that will rev that high reliably. if you want to talk about a normal engine, you’d probably would want to mention the RBs

Cams, pistons, valves, head, crank, a lot goes into achieving those kind of RPMs.
