Classic sabertooth has been alive as long as wolverine and has fought roughly in every war Logan has. That kinda battle experience with his sadistic nature, would ultimately give him the edge against the new wolverine.
Amazing Zero I completely agree with you. While Laura may have the edge in speed, Classic Sabertooth was an absolute BEAST! His savagery was the stuff of legend.
Trigger scent Laura would kill him (He wouldn't get a chance to touch her, Trigger scent Laura is Berserk Logan on speed!) but as her current state as Wolverine she wouldn't, no trigger scent and she doesn't kill.

Wolverine hasn't been able to beat Sbaertooth beast to beast. It's been by using his head. Laura is much much better at that than he is.
Also, her approach to combat has shown time and again to be more effective than either of them. Wolverine and Sabertooth have been shown to be old thinking vs new. Throw in a beast that can't be killed and the target will likely die. Turns out if you throw in a professional killer with adamantium claws the target will die almost instantly. The only rub is can she incapacitate them before they take HER down.
In her initial fight with Wolverine she was dragging her claws through the dirt so his wounds had debree in them and took longer to heal. It was clever, as he actual bled enough to weaken, and that made her advantage all the greater as his senses dulled and his speed and strength dropped.
Would she win a straight fight against sabertooth? I think it would depend on the writer and the scenario. I think she could scare him TBH. He believes his way is the best, and getting dismantled by her could shake his beliefs to the core.
Ephemis Priest Sabertooth is smart though, I'd argue he'd eventually figure it out. Also wasn't X-23's and Wolverine's first fight staged or something? Like I remember Wolverine said he let her win, and then when they fought again he pretty much destroyed her in seconds. I kinda see it going down like that with classic sabertooth to be honest... It takes everything Wolverine has to defeat sabertooth, I honestly don't see her beating sabertooth without an adamantium skeletal system. Now the real question is would she be able to go up against feral Wolverine? When the adamantium was taken out of him? That Wolverine's healing factor was ridiculous...

I really enjoyed this story. To my recollection, this hasn't happened very often. They fight each other, but there's rarely been this father daughter dynamic....and there SHOULD be!. We saw it with Kitty Pride, we saw it with Jubilee, but not with Laura Kinney. Here, we see them fight TOGETHER for a change, and there is a father-daughter moment here as well. I'd like to see more of that in the future 👍
Yeah, that was the second best part of it all for me. To me they seriously dropped the ball though when they ultimately decided to replace Wolverine with her. She should have been her own character, because literally the first two thirds of her run was about self discovery.

Classic Sabertooth is a force of nature laying waste to all enemies. X-23 is fast powerful and equipped ... Sabertooth is too experienced, too ruthless and will kill everything and everybody in his path , I would even go as far as to say without the adamantium bonding process maybe even classic wolverine wouldn't be able to survive .
It would be a good fight. Without adamantium wolverine would have greater speed and his healing factor would no longer be hampered by fighting off adamantium poisoning.

I actually teared up a little bit reading the last few pages. It was kind of touching to see Laura just basically act her age and "normal".
Need more of this, always loved X-23 and Wolverine is among the few character I always loved. Wolverine, Hulk, Spiderman, Venom, Batman, MMH, Deathstroke, every Robin, the main people who got me interested in comics.

Classic Wolverine is beast (Wolverine series 2 issue 51) after having some memory blocks removed, Wolverine fights in the dangeroom against all of his main advisories, and forge explains that wolverine is "It is the equivalent of an Olympic gymnast doing a gold medal routine while simultaneously beating four chess computers in his head.".... beast mode

I love this. I say use Mags to remove the adamantium encasing Logan, use Old Man Logan's DNA to reanimate Logan's body, and kick Mephisto's ass for Logan's soul until it's back in his body with his healing factor and everything.
Rob it could be cool if you could cover a Daken vs X-23 what if type vid or at least some more Daken origins stories.

Spoona Benson as much as I would love to have the old universe back it does present the question what will be accomplished? at the end of the day if marvel generations does not put its own spin on something and is just a way of pleasing old fans it just make me read dc rebirth and give up on marvel
kingdigi 17 Same. I already jumped ship and pretty much caught up with the heroes I was interested in from DC. I honestly have no clue as to what Marvel is doing, but the last few years have been a bit of a disappointment, and I don't want anything to do with it anymore.
yea and by appealing to the older fans and not trying to appeal to all i feel as if it is a loss ANAD wasn't perfect by any means but there were some titles i did and were some pretty cool things like hydra captain america but by bringing back classic wolverine it actually angers because they killed two years put x-23 as wolverine and then just bring classic wolvering back its by appealing to the old fans which you alienate people who are open to new concept and just doing the same thing over and over. there is nothing more insulting then starting over and doing the things you did before
The first fight between Logan and X-23 was an act on the part of the feral Muties. That's why people have the misconception of Laura being faster than Logan. It was purposely done and also it was explained. X-23's character was the first ever to start off as a cartoon on TV to be introduced into the comics because of her TV popularity.
Very nice. Good job. I'd love to see an X-23 and Jubilee story. Also, I feel like the relationship that was brewing between marrow and Wolverine was wasted. Also the relationship between meltdown and Sabretooth. I just feel like more could have been done with both of those situations

I just love X-23 so goddamn much, comics and movie. Especially the movie, I could watch that little girl screaming and murdering things for hours. I just love that she's such a different person from Wolverine, but she still maintains those characteristics that make Wolverine such a terrifying badass. That no-bullshit attitude, the whole "You're not an animal" character arc, and that raw ferocity that no other superhero in comics can match.
Hey rob, I've been following x 23 for a long time. As well as Logan and the x men. I also grew up on x men evolution. So when this issue came out and she finally got to say goodbye it hit me in the feels hard cause ur right Logan always kinda kept her at arms length in a way. Logan may be back now, it might take a bit cause I don't think marvel has any book for him listed just yet. But I would like a book of the two of them hanging or shit him somehow showing up in Laura's current book to work this shit out some more cause Tom Taylor truly does get their relationship and history. I definitely don't wanna Laura to go back to sporting skimpy costumes she's doesn't have to remain the wolverine but a new name or at least a new costume for sure. As for who would win her or sabertooth. I agree with u classic saber tooth most likely if their in a dessert and there's no way for her to use her wits and some sort of tech to win lol. Without the skeleton it leaves her vulnerable to a lot it's a reason y I prefer her cause she can be incapacitated pretty easily unlike Logan. Gives a bit more tension to her fights and she can't really make any huge mistakes.
1v1, no holds bar, I gotta give it to my boy V.Creed. He's got speed and strength that allows him to best Logan on a rare occasion; that with his 100+ years a savage violence, military tactics, and honed animal instincts

Nothing against characters like X23 and miles but I really wish that marvel can treat their older characters like peter parker and thor with respect again.

Marvel Comics is doing horrible, like 90's 'we must sell off the movie rights' bad. They really need to start publishing comics people want to buy again and one step is to write about characters that are liked.

This is cool. To my knowledge comic book artist Ethan Van Sciver said he created a character for Marvel called X32 which would be like spelling “sex” backwards and was supposed to be wolverines daughter. Supposedly Marvel loved the idea but later changed her.
Classic Sabretooth would win. He is entirely capable of ripping Laura's head off. If that happened. No Laura.. and Laura would hesitate on cutting his head off, that would be all it takes for Creed to take advantage of her 'weakness'. Also, makes me wonder how Laura is going to react to find out that her Father is alive again.. the only person who seems to know is time displaced young jean grey.

Love X-23. I dig the story here for her. Her current book as Wolverine is great and she is one of my favorite Marvel characters.

Any story that delves into Logan's humanity and emotional state is a win, in my opinion. He's been used as a story tool and animalistic weapon too often, and being reminded of who Logan is, rather than Wolverine, shows us who he truly is as a character. Good stuff, right here

Definitely one of the better stories. I mean i love seeing Wolverine slash people up as much as the next person and x-23 will always be my one true love as far as female comic book characters but i love seeing the softer side of heroes especially dealing with family ties or children because i feel like it lets a little bit of reality in. Its always nice to escape into a world of comic books where super heroes are as common as military soldiers but every once in a while, i love when a little reality is breathed into comics and a story like this comes out if it. Loved it.

I always enjoy comics with a good story behind it and something emotional. Most things are just not worth reading anymore with how often things change. you'd get use to something then its a reboot then while you get use to that and then there's another crisis moment or reboot there hasnt been anything solid with a good emotional attachment in a while other than i guess superman and his son but i like this story with Laura and James(logan)
I actually LOVE the generations concept. In addition, I think that will put more fans minds at ease too. Its giving freedom back to them. Initially, it was sort of this thing like "Well, Thor is a woman now. If you want to read Thor comics, you read Jane Foster or nothing at all" where in generations, you get BOTH; in this instance you get Classic Wolverine and X-23....you aren't being forced to choose. In generations, you get Captain Marvel AND Ms Marvel in Kamaala Kahn. If they like both, great. If not, they can choose which one they want to focus on. At the end of the day, that's what fans want, the ability to choose for themselves which comics they want to read
They actually didn't get rid of anybody but Cyclops and Wolverine. Everyone else was still around, then Bruce Banner died and so on and so forth. Unworthy Thor is a really good book but nobody is reading it just like before Jane Foster became Thor, so they had no reason to change it back cause you vote with your wallet. Jane out sold Odinson.
Like they could easily kill of Wolverine since he has already done everything with everybody. He's over saturated. So they could just kill him off and time skip him with Old man Logan for more interesting stories. Or they even up having Wolverine do the same shit over and over again, which is fine for new readers but older reads complained and got a Wolverine statue for their trouble! XD
I think she can take him. At end of the day Sabortooth is a animal. X-23 is a trained assassin. She's fought her fair share of crazys.
Rob. There's a new marvel game that came out called Mvc:i. I was thinking about what characters could have been in on the marvel side and looked at the rosters from older games of the series, and realized about 50% in every game were X men, then realized, X-men had the most and most recognizable top level enemies(about 9 straight out).
Could you do a series on the top villains of other Marvel heroes. When I say that Red Skull and Zemo are the only Cap villain, Loki and Ice Giants are the only Thor villain(until Gor), and FF only has Doom and Annihilus, I don't know if I'm being stupid or accurate. Google searches aren't interesting enough for me to do it on my on. Do the inhumans have a constant villain even?

I'm a little late to the comment section but to put my two cents in on the subject of who wins between x-23 and classic saber tooth I would have to ask if it's pre or post trigger scent x-23 bc if it's pre then I go with Laura, seems like her ability to discern the fighting style of sabertooth and weak spots and ways to incapacitate him would win over sabertooths sheer brutality plus he will know about her claw in her foot, so I say pre trigger scent Laura would win bc of kill instinct plus tactics learned from training but I don't think she would have the killer instinct post trigger scent

I love x23 in the comics. Her design and role as Wolverines daughter as a chip off the old block catches my attention and I enjoy the comics.
It's to a point where I'm conflicted between her or wolverine as my favorite superhero of all time.
X23 was confirmed to be his true daughter in the AOA 10 year anniversary.

Classic Sabertooth is savage, Experienced, stronger but also old X-23 is also just as savage (especially with her tigger) and as you said fast and somewhat experienced but younger. This would be a close ass fight and hard to say who would come out on top but I'm gonna go with X-23. Shes just a wild card in a way

X-23 would win. Logan is a pure soldier, training in a huge number of combat situations and wars but as you've said Rob, he's far more a brawler than anything else. Sabretooth IS a brawler, an animal, whereas X-23 was trained from day one to be a killer. It's even said in this comic how Laura doesn't waste any action. If she gave herself over to the training then it's far more likely Laura wins unless Creed either gets lucky or simply overpowers her.
X-23 aka laura is awesome as the new wolverine and is a great successor to logan plus it actually makes a ton of sense for the daughter to take up the mantle of her father Logan
