Awesome video!!!! Would you recommend the Discovery 3? Considering buying a play vehicle for weekend trips etc and I am struggling to get people’s opinions on 4x4’s to buy! If you had circa 10k to spend on a 4x4 for recreational trips what would you go for?
Would I recommend the Discovery 3.. now that’s a question! As a vehicle that can comfortably carry my family around (2 kids and a Giant dog) with the level of luxury it offers combined with the ease of use of the 4x4 Terrain response system the Discovery 3 is a fantastic vehicle and it’s hard to find a comparable vehicle that is not another Land Rover... however that would also be it’s down fall, it’s a Land Rover. If you are not a DIY mechanic (You soon will be) and you don’t fancy tackling some servicing and repairs yourself this vehicle can become extremely expensive to run and can become an endless money pit if things start to go wrong. There is a lot of technology in this thing to go wrong and in my experience a number of faults that pop up cause the vehicles air suspension to lower on its bump stops potentially leaving you stranded if you don’t have a code reader able to clear the fault codes. I have been put in 2 potentially dangerous situations because of this. I have since bought an old Toyota with much less to go wrong as my ‘Adventure’ Vehicle. I’m still debating on keeping my much loved Disco as a family car but potentially may be going up for sale after it’s MOT in March. You have a lot of options with a budget of 10k you will have to weigh up what is going to be important for you and your needs. Hope this helps and I’m not trying to scare anyone away from the Disco this is just my experience of it and I still love the damn thing! 😂
@@WoodcockFamilyOverland thanks for the honest reply! I don’t mind picking up a spanner but as an accountant I am not exactly proficient in this area! I agree that no other vehicles comes close to comfort, style and off-road capability after my hours and hours of internet searching- I keep coming back to the Disco 3 but I am afraid this car isn’t for me! I am looking into the land cruisers and also shoguns, Nissan patrol etc even pickups like the Hilux but something roughly the same age but less to go wrong.
Epic Mate 🏞👌
Great vid , what was the location / grid of where you camped , I'd love to stop there myself
