I opened up RUclips to look for a tartar sauce recipe and lo and behold I see one from you! Search is over because I have loved EVERY AB recipe that I’ve tried! Can’t wait to try this! And, in answer to your question, I will definitely make homemade instead of buying it in the jar!

Yo AB, I started using this recipe a few months ago. Every tartar sauce I got from the stores were too sweet and I've been looking all over for a dill tartar sauce. This is it man! I'll never buy from the store again. I can't keep enough in the house cause my wife is destroying it. You did it this time bro. THANKS!

I make mine just like that. With the Tony chachere"s. I use a little less sugar and salt. But when we have fish fries for large groups i have to make a gallon of this homemade tater sauce. It tastes better and it's cheaper as well. The dill and lemon juice are a must so don't forget it. Love love this recipe. 🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟❤🐟🐟🐟🐟

I use Miracle Whip and Sweet Relish (may not need the sugar) but the white onions is what gives it the great taste. I never buy tartar sauce out of the stores now. I always have the ingredients on hand so it is easier to mix it up at home. Well done with Cajun twist!!

Some people also add salt and Worcestershire sauce, and a bit of mustard. If you dont have pickles you can try a bit of relish for flavor. You can also add tartar, as a thickening agent (I think thats where the sauce gets its name).

I make my own. I add a small squirt of yellow mustard and some finely chopped onions. Also, you can use dill pickle relish instead of chopping your own. I never thought of adding dill. I'll start adding that, but I don't think I'll do any Cajun seasoning.

Credit is due! This is the base for my sauce. From here, and usually, I do not mess with it. However, crumbling tarragon (releasing the oils) and adding to a pan w/ 2T vinegar adds depth. This is allowed to cool after reduction. Then I start with your base. Chopped cappers always assist. Back to the tarragon and vinegar...I usually add a sardine. Most of the time, I am in a hurry and stick with you, many thanks!!! To thicken, place the chopped pickles & cappers on paper towels and squeeze, makes a huge difference people!
